As a saltwater fishing guide from Vancouver, BC, Canada, I am very impressed on how much care is given to halibut when releasing. I use swim baits as well and the results speak for themselves. Awesome video - keep up the good work!
Oh I forgot... I met the nicest and kindest people in Norway, father´s friend Ole and Borge. We flew by airplane from Prague to Oslo. Then we drove to Drammen and stayed by Ole for three days. Then we flew by plane way up north to Bardufoss, rent a car at the airport and moved to Senja where we were fishing the fjord. If I ever move from central Europe, Norway is gonna be my destiny for sure. Petr from Czech.
My late auntie lived in Denmark 🇩🇰 and often took a trip to the fjords of Norway 🇳🇴, she sent me a photo of a 17kg cod she caught, this was in the early 80s and its on my bucket list of things to do, heading out your way to hit some big cod and halibut also would love to catch a rock biter aka wolf 🐺 fish, they look like giant rock gobies we find in rock pools × 1000. Excellent video definitely subscribed 👍
Nice big halibuts you caught... I was fishing in Senja island four years ago. I caught a few cods, two mackerel and a lot of pollacks, daddy caught a smaller red perch in the depth of seventy meters. Although I am a fly fisher, I really enjoyed fishing the fjord of Senja island in Norway. Thank you for your nice video.
Awesome trip and fish. I live in NZ and love chasing monsters, this is a really tight set up. From the gear to the release, fantastic. If you get the chance, come down and chase some Kingies. Ocean trains.
Was in NZ some years ago and went fishing Yellowtail Kingfish with a charter out of Whitianga, super strong fish :) One of the best fishing trips I've had.
Excellent, that is how to release a fish, not just tossing them back from 4 feet above the water. I was surprised to see artificial bait being used in some cases. Fun video!
Heading up to northern Norway in 5weeks. Great video, great info on how best to rig for such beautiful fish. Biggest upto now, 149cm. Looking to go slightly better. Right I'm off to the gym. 🤪
Great movie. Om going to Lofoten i August 23 to beat my 50 kg pr that i cought on Röst 12 yeas ago. Cant wait, and a lot had happend on the gear front since that! Im thinking of buying a 5.2” Edge rod. The biggest in the 3 rod serie is for overhead real, 250-400 grams jigs and 33 kg and a Shimano Thorium 16a…maybe 20… Really like that rod, but is it to heavy???
One of my favourite fish there so good. There very powerful and hard to get off the bottom sometimes. The will almost beat the bottom out of a small boat if you don’t kill it before you put it in the boat
Kanon bra film! skoj att fisket kom igång för er trots Covid tider själv får jag vänta till nästa säsong inan vårat fiske kommer igång igen nere i Malaysia
These fish look awesome. Would it be possible to travel over and fishing with you guys? Can you please share information about this camp halibut? Many thanks
Had some of my best halibut fishing in Norway Been in depth from 10 to 30mtrs Found once you started in clear 10mtrs less water and and couldn't see bottom you got hit
In UK waters, every single one of those fish would be a fish of a lifetime. We are so overfished though, fish of that calibre are becoming rarer and rarer.
Yes, we just pass the whole hook through the skin. It is highly important that it is the right length. We will make videos about these things on our own channel in the future.
Dont know about that Honda. Seen one with only 25 hours fling a piston off and throw the rod through the crankcase. Was not over recommended rpm by any means. Never seen any other motor fail like that.
Witaj, wspaniała relacja filmowa. Czy wędka widoczna filmie to PENN REGIMENT III SPIN AND PILK 802 2.44M 100-250G | FAST | XX HEAVY? Hello, great film coverage. Is the rod visible in the film PENN REGIMENT III SPIN AND PILK 802 2.44M 100-250G | FAST | XX HEAVY?
Hi, if you check out our other video from this trip, you can see Jeanett catching some coalfish on the Spin & Pilk rod, though if I remember correctly it's the -150g version.
This is why your fishery will survive and i actually have tears seeing the conservation acts you guys hold dearly as i am from washington state and in the pacific northwest and alaska people dont give a dam they keep everything and now our beautiful puget sound here is almost dry of halibut. The native americans here have raped the waters with no remorse with long lines and taking well over their allowed quotas and whatever’s left over if there is anything the recreational guys like me get to try and find. I throw everything back over 40lbs and that should be a law here.
There is no problem with a grip around the gill plate. This is the most common way to hold all kind of fish around the globe. It is scientificly proven to be a safe method. But we appreciate your concern for the fish 👌

Nice video we hope to go to mikkelvik in september, if covid dont mesh it up Argain.. what braid you use for stingers?
Hi, for the stinger we actually use a polyester silk line, I think 1,4mm. You can find them at some hardware stores.
@7:25 the lundgrens skåne in the background goes hard
Tusen takk!

Fin video spændende at følge med i :-)

thank you
I'm not sure they are open for the season yet but please visit Camp Halibuts website for more information and contact details.
It's mine and my dad's dream to fish norway
Its amazing! Happy new year! Thanks for watching.
What size Penn Slammer is it you are using, also, what B/S braid?
Hi Raymond, we were fishing with Slammer 5500 and 6500. The braid is Berkley x9 0,35mm.
You're amazing, young lady.
Daniel looks a lot like, Viva La Dirt League Alan
How do you attach the stinger hook to the deadbait fish, I think you let the hook hang loose at the tail
Yes, we just pass the whole hook through the skin. It is highly important that it is the right length. We will make videos about these things on our own channel in the future.
Where in Norge are you fishing?
Dont know about that Honda.

Hi. Which rods and Reels (Multi reel) do you fish for Halibut?
Hi, we were using Penn Fathom LD reels together with Carnage Halibuster and Regiment III rods.
What knot do you use when attaching your lures?
We used a grinner knot.
Hi, great video & tips, what are the penn carnage rods your using in this film with the bigger lures, lures look 180 to 300g. Thanks.
Hi Pete, we're using Carnage Halibuster 50 lb.
Witaj, wspaniała relacja filmowa.

Hello, great film coverage.

Super 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for Watching
What rod and reel is used in this video at the start
Hi, if you mean the rod with the cork handle, it's a Penn Regiment III Pro Boat with a Fathom LD reel.
What rod is that??
Ile dni trwały nagrania?
Great footage I abhor the use of treble hooks, and why do you allow people to put their hands in their gills. They are injured using this method.
Dont forget WHERE you are visiting....!!!
Grym video. #fish2win
👍👍👍 thanks for watching
Hej Andreas, skicka ett meddelande till Abu Garcias facebook är du snäll :)
Muito bom! No kill!

they dont always survive when you aggressively hook its head
)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))Kult

Fint ni va snälla mot fisken och brydde er om den vid hanteringen ombord osv /N
I love a beautiful woman who genuinely loves fishing, we don't get many beautiful blonde ladies fishing on the isle of man but they're all welcome.

Dow deep wash ocean in this place
On this day we were fishing around 15-40 meters deep.
Your BAITFISH are 3 times as big as the FISH I catch!
The fish there are incredible!
So much hands and fingers in the gills. Cant be to good for the fish regarding c&r..
There is no problem with a grip around the gill plate. This is the most common way to hold all kind of fish around the globe. It is scientificly proven to be a safe method. But we appreciate your concern for the fish 👌
