I understand that these videos are meant to help people with scoliosis like my self but in my expirience i have been to like 10+ doctors in the past 4 years and im 20 years old and all they did is make me feel like im paralyzed or like i cant do anything except stretching and scrotch . And my curve is rlly not that bad its bearly visible and its 34 degres and as a man i literally felt completly useless and lost all confidence in myself along the way .Before i was diagnosed at the age of 17 i had no clue what scoliosis is or that it existed literally never saw it before i was diagnosed. After like 2 years of crippling depression i stumbled upon 2 legends that i didnt know existed 1 of them is Usain Bolt which has an S curve much more severe than mine, and another legend is Lamar Gant which is a man thats 5.1 feet tall and has really bad scoliosis more then 50 degrees despite all that at the weight of 132 pound he deadlifted 661 pounds in 1980s and saw he is physically able to this day. So i decided to stop listening to all this BS and i got into a gym and hired a powerlifting coach first 4 months after i got into training my back never felt better in my life and i was much straighter then before even tho the curve is still sthere and i got rid of like 90% of the pain. So i decided to start training more so i walked into a Boxing gym and trained there and with alot of endurance and strretching and spine and core twisting thats required in boxing my spine started feeling much better. So last thing i have to say unless your doctors say your scoliosis really severe or is causing damage to your lungs or heart or has and impact on your breathing DONT think of going to surgery because of estetic reasons and dont let your doctors empty your pockets and convince you you are any different then people with straight spine most of those people have backpain and stiff back aswell. And both of those 2 legends i listed there are more physically able then 90% of human population and both of them lifted weights.
Yeah, I had the same problem as you - 36 degrees. My mother noticed my back wasn't right when I was 18 so we went to a chiropractor and they told us I have thoracic scoliosis. After that I started doing exercise a lot, going to physiotherapy and massages. I must say it helped a lot... Unfortunately I am now 35 and even when I am visiting gym, physical therapy and massage - pain comeback. I have been suffering from chronic lower back pain for the last year and I don't know what to do next. I am currently considering surgery because I can't imagine living with this pain for another 35 years. I can't do sports properly, play with the children etc... because I feel pain with every movement. I hope you do better in a few years not like me :)
I am very active, and very flexible, but there was a couple of month time period when I slowed down my activities, and stopped exercising. As a result I could barely walk, and had horrible pain! It took a few weeks, but once I began exercising again I was at least able to walk, and had less pain.

Ive discovered I have had congenital scoliosis for 52 years, and only found out because I had an xray for something else. I can bend forward ok,but not backwards. Ive never been able to swim, climb ropes,do handstands etc. All the scorn and criticism Ive had for 52 years! Not to mention lost jobs. Its impacted my whole life. I do a home barre twice a week and will definitely stop attempting to bend back now. I will just do some porte de bras and check my posture to fill in that part of the music.

I am 61 years old. I have a thoracic and a lumbar curve. In the 70s I had a Harrington rod attached to my spine and the vertebrae fused together. Throughout the years I have been told that my pain was due to arthritis. I was even told I had tennis elbow when I had excruciating nerve pain down my left arm. About 10 years I had that horrible nerve pain in my lower back. I was told that I had a pinched nerve in between th L4 and L5 vertebrae, but that there was nothing that could be done for me be done because I had scoliosis, osteoarthritis and 80 something year old bones in my 40 something year old body! About 5 years ago I went to an orthopedic doctor about bad pain in my shoulders. He said it was my ligaments and gave me some exercises to do with an elastic band. It helped some but each year I have more and more pain I can't walk much or stand for n Very long. The only thing that helps is water aerobics and chair aerobics. Now my top two ribs on my left side have been overlapping and scrapping together causing more pain. Can anything be done once the vertebrae have been fused together? You are the only person in all these years who has explained that my pain is related to the scoliosis!

I’m not diagnosed but my neck goes to the left in my imaging. I have pain everywhere and a Chiro told me it’s mild thoracic scoliosis but I’m pretty sure it’s thoracolumbar. Question is why would the whole neck veer left and can you get severe pain at the base of the skull and back of head from this ? Thanks

I think the obvious.. do corrective exercises with scoliosis exercises with your hobby. Make sure to be observant if it affects it or not, and consult professionals ofc. No exercise is more bad.
hi, I have super mild dextroscoliosis, I mean it is just a slight curve and it is not that noticeable unless I mentioned it on my xray. but when looking at my back, they say it wasn't noticeable. I want to apply in the military, is it possible for me to apply there? I can do proper push up without my back feeling hurt, I do sit ups all the time and I jog with 12kg at the back every day. I didn't notice the scoliosis until I tried to just check my body if there is something wrong for me to correct it since I am preparing for the medical in army. I do exercise everyday but it didn't hurt my back or spine. I never realize that I have scoliosis after I check it up. any advice about this? I am 24 yrs old

I am 16 years old (female) and I have a approximately 20° curve (mild scoliosis with a curve that looks like the letter S), with that i have a pain in the area of my right scapula (through out the day and mostly when I work alot and sometimes when I take deep breaths). Is this pain because of the scoliosis? Also what can be done about this scoliosis and pain? Thank you

Are you doing any kind of stretches? If so, what are you doing? I have 2 curvatures in my spine. One is 35 degrees and the other is almost 40. They were more significant than that until I started doing more stretches that dancers do. Not so much what ballet dancers do as that requires more hyperextension. I do more of what hip hop and jazz dancers do. It’s helped a LOT. You’re best bet though is to find a doctor that is well versed and trained in scoliosis treatment. Talk to them about your specific issues and see what they recommend for you. Just because the types of stretches that I do work for me may not necessarily work for you.

Sir i have 3 curves with 19° degree 75° degree and 82° degree curve but i dont have much pain and i can do most exercises but my parents told me not to since my surgery is on 30th this month, i just wanted to ask os it ok if i did exercises until i do my surgery cause i stopped doing any exercises after my scoliosis diagnosis, but i have gained alot of weight during these months and i want to lessen it before my surgery, so is it appropriate if i do the exercise for the next 6 days till my surgery? Or would it affect me later onwards? Please let me know cause it has been conserning me for awhile now, i hope to get a response soon😊🙏

Should People With Scoliosis Avoid pregnancy? I am interested in how the body is affected by carrying and natural delivery. I have had the surgery so I am aware that an epidural might not be an option but are there ways to exercise for less pain before, during and after pregnancy?
Severe sciatic pain started about 6 years ago making it painful to even take a step. Diagnosed recently with mild scoliosis with mild degenerative changes. They also see what looks like a bulging disc in my lower back but I have been denied for an MRI 3 times..im out of work right now because my back pain gets so severe that it hurts to move. My spine feels pressure like something comparable to the pressure of giving birth. If i move or breath the wrong way whatever my body says that is I feel sharp pain through my spine and back or ribs. When that happens i am terrified to move. Im scared to get active because of it. Waiting on physical therapy from one of the worst hospitals in america. No joke they are on lists of the worst hospitals. My hands, legs and feet go numb and tingly off and on like once in a blue moon. I have weakness in my arms and legs. Honestly im terrified to work out because I believe its a torn rotator cuff in my right shoulder that causes my arm to become immobile like its weighted down to the bone. It clicks and pops something terrible repetative movements like pouring coffee from the blenders at my old job i would have to support my right arm with my left arm. My knees are bad too. When I was 13 the knee caps both at different occasions of simply walking came out of socket slipped violently to the side of my leg. I was alone and no one could help so I pushed it back in both times. But my knees are painful and it is scary to do stuff because I can feel them start to slip and it stops me in my tracks afraid to walk just like the sciatic pain that feels like someone is stabbing me in the back it makes me gasp out loud. I get tremors and not sure if its because of my shoulder but mainly happens in that hand. Knees tremor too sometimes. Plantar facia in both feet plus a huge callous that needs removed surgically but I have been denied for that too. Denied for the tjm in my jaw which makes my jaw click and sometimes painful to eat. They consider that surgery to be plastic surgery. No choice but to stick with this health insurance because it is free...i dont know what to do. I feel like my doctor doesnt take me seriously but am afraid to ask for new one because i just started seeing him and it could mess with the state temporary disability i just started receiving. I have been putting up with when I was trying to work through it, judgment, looks and sarcastic comments. Even from people I love.. I feel so helpless. I am broke and my family is suffering because I cant work like this anymore. Doctor doesnt believe me. He made a comment about my blood pressure being normal for someone who says they are in that much pain.. The doctors office and doctor kept messing up my disbaility paperwork and fought me trying to say I had to get MRI and go through physical therapy first before the doctor would sign. But that wasn't a requirement for unemployment sdi and even unemployment was becoming frustrated with the doctors office because I was eligible and all sdi needed was a diagnoses code and the date I was diagnosed but they kept filling it out wrong and it felt like on purpose because I remember one of the girls at the doctors office I spoke to saying we have to find out if your even disabled...when I was just trying to get unemployment because the doctors note put me out of work. Walking agitates it severely hell even sweeping or mopping does. I can barely clean my house. I hate all of this. I feel so alone.
I also tested positive for ana autoimmune disease. Last doctor thought it was lupus. Rheumatologist suspected anklyosing sponylitis. And an ER doctor suspected MS.

@@charlotte_Dino Hi. I'm afraid Mr.Nalda will only answer by referring you to his website at least it appears that way. I will definitely take a look at his website, but traveling to Florida is not practical for many of us if that is required. For what it's worth, a scoliosis surgeon from John's Hopkins told me I must swim. I am not sure what he means or why. Swimming can be one sided if you do freestroke and pull with one side as I do... my right arm pulls me forward- I swam a mile several times per week. I am much older now and have an S curve 66° at thoracic spine and unbearable pain.I am not attributing my scoliosis to swimming, but if I were to get into the water today I would do water jogging. There are devices that hold you upright and you jog/walk pumping arms - you probably know this. I think the surgeon John's Hopkins suggested swimming as it does not harm joints and water jogging doesn't either - knowing that I pull with one side jogging would be better. As Mr.Nalda says everyone's is different. I encourage all young with scoliosis to do something about it whether exercise or the newer minimally invasive surgical procedures(MIS) because now docs tell me due to osteoporosis which is largely in my case age related - they can't help me. So please please always be on the look out for curve progression, any pain and programs to help.

It helped some but each year I have more and more pain I can't walk much or stand for n
Very long.

Thanks
It would be hard to diagnose or give a opinion without knowing more.
I have a c curve. Can I lie on the floor with my legs up the wall safely for other purposes?

@J Carrington hope ur doing good even with ur scoliosis bro thanks for letting me know
I think the obvious.. do corrective exercises with scoliosis exercises with your hobby.

Hi! just want to ask can i do sit up and push up with scoliosis?
This might help www.scoliosisreductioncenter.com/?s=exercise+
You can but you really have to watch your form. I myself can do push ups with the knees bent and on the floor. I just don’t very often because I have arthritis in both knees and it hurts like hell.

Swimming and scoliosis.... Is there something you can say about this?

www.scoliosisreductioncenter.com/blog/scoliosis-and-swimming?s=swimming
it is good swimming for scoliosis?
So please please always be on the look out for curve progression, any pain and programs to help.
i love horse riding tho i have 28 degree scoliosis

Can someone with scoliosis lift weights?
That would depend on the case.
Ask Heather Connor and Lamar Gant... 😀
In small cases?! Lol. In most cases.
