Its nice to see how to do things on the 1.6 16v like this. No ones really done it this well before, so keep it up!

James Macintyre Thanks man! that really means a lot! I'd do more if people suggested things they wanted to see :)

Maybe have a think about 1.6 16v specific things that you could do. Today for instance I had a hard enough time figuring out where to put the jack when the side sills are covered up by my skirts. I know thats a bit novice, but its pretty crucial!

Okay yeah thats definitely a good place to start! the basics are sometimes simple but hard to find! I will perhaps do a video explaining these things!

This madlad just goes ahead and makes a car channel without knowing what a ratchet is. I hope 8 years later he has learned a lot. The video helped me even after all these years. Sometimes it´s just helpfull to see it done on the exact same car that you have so you don´t make unnecessary mistakes.

You should find the torque rating for your engines spark plugs. Not just tighten down to see fit.

Can you make a video on how to keep your hands out of shot so we can actually see what you’re doing… or is that too much?

Did you need to use a tool to set the gaps on spark plugs or just straight out of the box? Want to change in my 1.6 Leon (same engine)

Just go to your local parts store and give them your reg, they should be able to look it up and find the right spark plugs for your car!

I see oil spill at you refill cap. I have the same. Is it something bad?

Lol, someone probably spilled when refilling.
Unless you filled oil all the way up and it's pouring out, it's nothing to worry about.

just did the spark plugs on my 1.6 16v and I found it easiest to take out the whole plastic framework with coils and everything and put it aside. The frame is held on with two torx allen screws. Stupid modern day car design with all that plastic that is bound to break. Maintenance and repairs on my E30 are a breeze compared to this crap...

Any chance you could make a short video showing exactly what you did?

      I would if I could, but exit golf, just old bimmers now (E3, E12, E28 & E30) :)

At 1:23 in the vid you will see the cable for the plugs running through a channel. If to carefully lift the cable retaining clips you should have have enough play to remove the plug covers. We all have out little tips, I hope this helps. Overall I found the vid pretty useful. Thanks for sharing.

I pulled one coil and there was an oil bath inside… rip me
I’ll just wipe it off and ser what will happen in 500km. Otherwise valve cover gasket i guess

worthwhile video, but why in God's name do most people use their hand to obscure many of the key components of a demo. If anyone physically saw how you detached the plug housing from the pin connector, they saw more than me. But I think I got it.
    Take care fella..

Pffft what torque what plug and always tighten by hand before using a ratchet, for all people asking buy a half decent set and it will be ok roughly £16 + service your car regularly and you won't need to listen to half a job, you want to do the job do it right

  • @sunnybagga89

So unprofessional ...using a screwdriver that way ....,😂 And No torque for the sparkplugs ... really amateur typically English ...

      @trashcan4u853 ปีที่แล้ว

It is surely a conspiracy 😂 when you break the components, and strip the threads then VW will profit by selling more.
