There literally is nothing to learn at this point in time about prolonging life. It is extremely basic. Just eat well, exercise, be in nature as much as you can, and keep your space peaceful.
This guy's heart might (or might not) be in the right place, but no matter how perfectly you take care of yourself you could still get hit by a car tomorrow. That doesn't mean it's futile to try to live a healthy lifestyle, just that the "middle way" is probably a better choice than extremism.
I get your point, but I also think he is showing that the perceived “middle way” for most people leads to a much poorer quality of life than we can even realize when we are in the thick of it. Exercise and healthy eating are good things, and they can greatly reduce your risk of illness, but they can't *eliminate* the risk.
