I had my S22U for almost two years as my daily driver. Yes, the cameras are fantastic. Battery life is not as good as the S24U I am currently using. The 8 Gen 1 processor was fast but can get warm. I had absolutely no complaints with mine. I think I like the 10x Zoom lens better than the 5x on the S24U. The S22U is a smooth performer and makes a great daily driver. Do put it in a case and USE a screen saver!
Yeah the S22 Ultra is still a great device. Especially after all the updates. Yeah battery could be better and I'm sure the 8 Gen 2 and Gen 3 are much better at battery optimization. I've owned phones with the 8 Gen 1, 2, and 3 and I can say with my OnePlus 12 the 8 Gen 3 sips the battery. It's fantastic. I do have my S22 Ultra in a really protective Ghostek Covert case, and it protects the screen pretty good. I just hate screen protectors and I've never used one.
It's hard to get a screen protector on and have it stay with the curved display. Works much better with the S24U since its display is flat. I thought I might miss the curved display, but I don't.
I agree ...my s22u is almost as good as my s23 u ...cannot make out much of a difference in camera or performance or display ....almost identical....and I like the cameras of s23u slightly better than the s24 u .. especially in the 10x and beyond zoom range
@sharonjoseph sorry just saw your message. It's nothing amazing, maybe because it's second hand. I do have to charge it twice a day, I consume alot of social media.
I love my S22 Ultra! Beautiful display, and a awesome phone! It's been my daily driver and I have no tendency to upgrade for another 2 years! This phone is a beast and I love it so much! The new Android 14 also made my battery A LOT better, and the processor surprisingly has been good for me. It's a nice phone! I highly recommend it. I have the green and it's meh. 😂 I should of got black. It's a great phone tho with so much to offer.
Both are going to run similar in every day usage, and if cameras are really important, both are really good, but I give the edge to the Pixel in the camera department. If I had to recommend one though, It'd be the Samsung.
I just got s22 Ultra to teplace note 20u. I went with 256gig version as it has 12 GB Ram over 8 Gigs on 128 Gig version. If you like Samsung UI then I would go with S22u over stock android on Pixel.
The Google 7pro is amazing and way smoother then the galaxy s22ultra. I got the Google 7pro and then the galaxy s22ultra and if you want a smooth experience Google takes the spot IMO
I have it i use it as my daily driver for me I get great battery life. I don't get over heating issues i actually like the limited edition red. Aka orange. you just need to make a few small adjustments to improve battery life . I agree with you on all fronts . I don't believe in getting a new phone every year or every two years.
@silviomassa10 i just ordered one from ebay new in sealed box 350. 8 gig ram though 128g space. I'll dump my photos to a thumb drive or use my old pixel free storage lol.

I'm looking to get one myself within in the next few weeks.
I'm considering getting this phone or the pixel 7 pro renewed.. any thoughts on which is better in your opinion?
