- The Samsung S22 has now been out for 2 years, lowering its value price to the point where it's comparable to new mid-range phones such as the Samsung A55. In this day in the life, I test out the performance, display, cameras and battery life to see if it's a better alternative to today's mid-range phones!

Note:
I only had access to the LDU version of the S22, which means I was primarily on WIFI throughout the day, however, research has proven the difference between WIFI and Cellular is negligible.

Rocking the S22 these days and it's a game changer! Snaps sunsets and late-night adventures like a dream. Plus, it's feather-light and feels moulded to my hand. Using mine S22 since august 2022 im happy with it, great size, great design, great cameras, great display, the bettery is not the best but its ok not planning to change yet

I have one of these and love it, my only complaint is that it doesn't have the android 14 update while a friend of mines s21 had it months ago, I bought it from back market as unlocked and it works fine with mobile x on the Verizon network so idk why it doesn't have it... any thoughts?

I have got it for 900 romanian, which is about 200 usd with a small crack on the display which is practically invisible on a normal angle. Got it a few months ago, holds up great and i recommend it

Been using S22 since March 2022.. i love it except for its battery 😅.. I always bring powerbank whenever I go outside
My current phone at the moment and you are absolutely on point on the battery life being quite poor and after more than 2 years owning it, it gets even worse.
Love the form factor it offers though which not many manufacturers go for anymore, like the A55 feels really huge and not comfortable to use one-handed. Might just go for the next normal iphone or pro model as it retains quite a similar footprint to what is considered small phones by today's standards.

only complaint so far is RCS and its not Samsung fault i think. Google Messenger get stuck on sending. Samsung messenger is not compatible with Google Messenger online

I've found a refurbished deal on the S22, so am upgrading from my A52s after 2 and a half years. Been getting way too slow, laggy lately, and battery has suffered too. Whilst A series are good value, definitely not built to be longer term devices compared to the flagships.
The s22 has even worse battery compared to a52s

You might wanna take a look at an s22 plus or s23 plus instead of just the regular model.
Battery is always the S22's weakest feat, considering it has 3700mah but if you have a secondary phone or not much of a heavy user, it still packs quite a punch

I regret not choosing the s22 over the 13 pro max. It’s not a bad phone by any means, iOS just isn’t my cup of tea. I had a note 8 and missed the unlimited customization. Now I’m choosing the s23
In Czechi you can buy used A grade S22 for the same price as A35. But that crappy Exynos 2200 is why I throw away S22 Ultra.

It's his real life usage, not some kind of fake day in a life. Again "his" not "yours".
I feel it's an unfair analysis since the phone did not have sim, as in screenshots we can see - no service. Also the S22 in continuous 2 years of usage (as in my sister's case) requires an urgent battery replacement as it drains very quickly and takes very long to charge.

You’re correct that having a SIM card can impact battery performance, especially in areas with poor signal strength where the phone has to work harder to stay connected. Studies do show that this difference is most noticeable in such scenarios, but overall, the effect on battery life is relatively minor when the signal is good compared to being on WIFI.
I want to clarify that in the video description, I mentioned that I only have access to an LDU version of the Samsung S22. As I explained at the end of the video, the battery performance on this unit is indeed quite poor, which is why I recommend the S22+ instead. Going forward, I will make sure to clearly explain in my videos when I'm using an LDU. (:
