Man I used to watch you 8 to 9 years ago. I'm glad you're still uploading RJ.
S23 ultra is enough. Wait until S25 or S26 ultra versions.
Honestly my S22 Ultra is good enough. These yearly releases are so minor that they need to be done away with.
Man, you have to give it a week or so of use to optimize the battery. From what I've heard, this phone has the best battery life of any Galaxy ever. Even beating out the 15 Pro Max iPhone. The S23 Ultra destroyed the S22 Ultra in battery life and the S24 Ultra is supposed to be even better. Either you didn't use it enough for it's first week for the battery to optimize or something may be wrong with your unit. Also, you need to put it in dark mode for getting more battery, not light mode, because OLEDs light up each individual pixel at a time and in dark mode, the unlit pixels use no energy.
As for other improvements are the super tough new Gorilla Armour glass and the new antireflective screen is nice. You get a much brighter screen, too. The Geekbench multi core score nearly doubles the S22. That should speed along your editing nicely. The the aforementioned camera improvements and incredible 7 years of support should ensure a great future for this phone. I think the mistake would be returning it. The S22 will be obsolete in a couple of years. The S24 will be good to go until 2031!
Maybe you should swap out for another S24 in case your battery is defective? But it's all up to you. Just my two cents.
I'm not gonna respond to your whole comment, but I've had it for right at 3 weeks. That's plenty of time for the battery to break in. This ain't my first smartphone. Like I said in the video... It could be my phone, but as someone who owned both... I know the performance of both and it's not enough to waste money. Listen to the whole video.
You have to skip a few generations to get a real upgrade
I agree 100%
From Galaxy note 9 to S24 Ultra, it's huge upgrade and I love my S24 ultra. The x5 zoom lens is just amazing
Oh yeah. I'm sure the upgrade was completely worth it. I think anything under a Galaxy S22 Ultra is definitely worth upgrading. The S24 Ultra is a great phone and I agree that the camera is amazing.
You should change your phones every 3 years.
I upgraded from the Redmi Note 12 Pro to the S24 Ultra, and it's a great upgrade. I am happy.
Yep. Glad I kept my S22U
I'm supposed to be getting mine back, but I hate the aggravation of returning something this expensive and hoping to get my old device back.
Bummer for your experience. I upgraded from the s22 ultra to the s24 ultra. Personally battery life is a huge improvement for me. I would consider myself a power user. I also notice a change in productivity. The flat display is way better for s pen. I take a lot of notes. I really like the anti reflective display too since I'm outdoors a lot. I will agree there are a lot of similarities though.
I picked up the Motorola edge plus 2023 for boost mobile. Cant wait for it to get here.
That's what im going for when im eligible for upgrade price again if they still sell it. I still got a while though, maybe 6 months
Awesome. I have the boost version of the Moto Edge+ 2022, and it's still a very nice phone. I hope you enjoy yours.
Seldom is an upgrade worth it from 1 year to the very next. Usually, I tried to wait a few years between new devices. Still, I did upgrade from the OnePlus 11 to the OnePlus 12 this year. While I love my 11 and still own it, there is definitely a difference in the 12; totally worth it.
I completely agree with you. And I also agree with the OnePlus. I had the 11 but I updated to the 12 and it's a night and day difference for the better. The OnePlus 12 is still my favorite phone of the year so far.
@@cvtechreview indeed, the 12 is the best phone that I've seen this year. Of course, I'm a little prejudiced because I own it. LOL
@@cvtechreview by the way, you should check out the new aramid fiber bumper case that they just released. I received mine the other day and it's an awesome case. I also have the same case for my 11.

Honestly i upgraded from the s23ultra red new 512g to the s24ultra At first i was upset but its not a mistake the flat screen,7 years of updates its nothing wrong wit the s24ultra just give it time its a baby give it a few months watch 😊
My only mistake was that I went for the S24 Ultra and suddenly got tired carrying it in my pocket and can not send it back again. I bought the regular S24 and it feels so good in my hands and my pocket
I keep switching to my iphone for this reason
Great video as usual, RJ. So, I have had my Galaxy S24 ultra for about a month now. Now I am coming from a moto. Edge plus 2021, and this phone is leaps and bounds better than that phone. Now, I have heard a lot of people say that. The Galaxy S22 is just as good as the 2024. I never had it, so I can't compare, but the phone I had previously to this. Is in a different ballpark. I went from having to charge it about 2 times a day. Bause I am a really heavy user on my phone compared to charging it 1 time a day. I have to say, unfortunately, Motorola has dropped the ball on the phones. 😊
I decided to get my S24 Ultra, since my last Z Fold 3. I UPGRADED, BECAUSE OF THE 7 YEAR SECURITY PATCH AND OS UPGRADES. Upgrading every year=GALA MEALS FOR SHAREHOLDERS!
I am happy for my S22 ultra. For me, it feels tempting when it comes with samsung, excluding some features to the S24 ultra. But at least I am getting some android updates. Most of them are software. The only thing that they should exclude it is when the feature has a hardware that the s22 ultra doesn't have. I don't like upgrading, but it meets my expectation when samsung extended the number of years of Android OS upgrades since 2022 and to keep my phone much longer.
battery life will be optimized based on your usage after one week. In my opinion, it's not worth upgrading from the S23 to S24, similar to the iPhone 13, 14, and 15.
I've had it going on 3 weeks. This ain't my first smartphone. I've educated many people on how to charge their phones within the first week, and the S24 Ultra either has just bad battery life, or the one I had was defective. I would say if you have the S21 Ultra, S22 Ultra, and definitely the S23 Ultra and you upgrade... You're just wasting money.
My s24 ultra has great battery life
@@crovian1985 I'm glad to hear that. Mine was pretty bad.
anti reflective display goes hard tho
that said it wasn't enough for me to get the ultra over the plus at the price difference of $400
Oh yeah that display was really nice, but I agree.. Not worth spending the money on it.
Thanks, bro.
return it bro i agree with everything you just said its not much of a difference like your content take bro i know that feeling
Oh I've already returned it. After using both phones I can't tell that much difference in the way I use it.
@@cvtechreview yes you're right bro thanks for letting know for us not to waste your money take bro bye
@@rauljavier2182 You're welcome, and I'm glad I could help.

Will they be sending you back your trade in device and $650 refund or will they refund the whole retail refund? If the former it will be simple if the latter you will have to hunt down an S22 ultra with the same storage size of the previous one you had.
They said they're going to send me back my S22 Ultra, but it is Samsung and they didn't know half what their doing, so I hope I get it back.
@@cvtechreview hope you get it
Well i would say its nitpicking, i get 9hr sot and still left with 20%
I didn't get near that on battery with light to moderate usage. Coming from an S22 Ultra I just didn't see it as much of an upgrade.
I'm using my s24 ultra more than my iphone 15 pro max and fold 5
I think the S24 Ultra is a great phone, but my point of the video was the fact if you have an older S22 Ultra or S23 Ultra it's just not worth the upgrade.
Definitely worth the upgrade..don't listen to this guy..doesn't know what he's talking about 😂
People can make up their own minds. Most in the comments agree that these "upgrades" are not necessary. Stop defending a company that doesn't care about anything but your money.
@@cvtechreview you’re absolutely correct sir!!
Lol 😂😂😂 wait until u have a green line..... samsung didnt want to fix this issue
Yeah I heard about that green line, but I returned mine because it's not worth the upgrade from the S22 Ultra and the S23 Ultra.
You're a goofball for wanting to return this. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this phone. It's freaking awesome
I didn't say there was anything wrong with the phone. I think it's a fantastic phone. I just don't see it as much of an upgrade when I already had a S22 Ultra that worked very similarly. Watch my S24 Ultra vs S22 Ultra speed test comparison. I don't know if you even watched the video or not, but if you haven't... You may want too before starting the name calling.
What is the point of this video? Everyone already knows there's no need to "upgrade" these top tier phones, outside of 3-4 years, even longer, given how they use it. Needless video. You're about to lose a longtime sub. Put out some good content, please?
Well first of all thank you for being a long time sub.
The point of this video is to tell those who may be contemplating upgrading to simply not do it. There may be some out there who may think upgrading is a good idea and I want to let them know that it's not always a great idea, and sometimes it's best to keep what you already have. At least I'm not clickbating, and no I don't think everyone knows that there's no need to upgrade. Heck I made the mistake of "upgrading". This video is simply telling people to think before upgrading, and that it's not always a good idea. I don't think that's bad content.
