Very interesting, I wish more people talked about this series
Recently hooked up my old ps1 and decided to complete Tomba once again, and this time around it became preeeetty obvious that this game had lots of cut content. The later you get in the game, the more unfinished it feels. While playing I just knew that there had to have been a Masakari village at some point in development, considering the map and how small the area is. I decided to search this and found the cuttingroomfloor page on Tomba, and then your channel. Pretty surprising to find this sort of content being made on Tomba so many years after the game came out. Keep it up!
I'm gona add this as i don't think anyone has found it (and i cant find info on it) but:
If you go to the Pier by the Haunted Mansion (the one you can go to after the Purification Machines for Baccus Lake) and try to unequip the Sacred Fish...the game freezes.
I have no idea why it does this...and the only reason i did it is cause i thought the fish was some item that would summon a giant fish or thing from the Lake cause i keep feeling like that Pier area is (or was) for something.
I'll have a clip of it happening during a stream soon.
It makes me sad to see how much content was cut from this game.

The studio that made it went out of business, we were lucky enough to even get the psone classics of tomba 1 and 2 but honestly dont think these games will ever come back sadly :(
I wish some of the originL developers of the game would collab with a team of fan developers into brining back what could have been the complete version of Tomba!

It just made no sense that you help a Masakari get a Funga drum on Phoenix Mountain and there was no follow-up...
This game is great but it could have been amazing.

As for the Funga language, it really would make sense if they planned on having Tomba learn that like he learned the Dwarf language

Even cutting floor doesnt have Amy info on the chief like character, could you explain how you got the debug to work?
depends on the emulator i guess, but if you're using BizHawk, add a cheat that sets Value: 10 to Address: 1B4 in Domain: DCache
@@Folk1n we had known that a debug mode might exist since at least a year ago, but it was finally activated just a few weeks back.

Excellent video. Isn´t there any chance of finding what the developers of the game ment to do with the unused items that are loaded in the CD? It´s so interesting to know what kind of puzzles they wanted to do, but were cancelled. Tomba 1 is full of mysteries :O
Honestly if people from the original tomba did an interview just to go over all the things that were cut would be amazing, theres so many gaps in the quest journey thing that you really gotta wonder how big the game map was going to be
