Thanks for the video, i also have Arlo cameras and it is frustrating getting them down and charging my camera every week. Want to buy the solar panel but didn't know how to install it. Thank you for your video! Very well explained!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Our friends just installed the solar panels - I want to order but am trying to figure out WHERE I can put since I have rain gutters that cover the wood fascia .
Question with solar power addition to alto cameras. Do I still internet ? Want to put cameras on my lot where house is being built and wanted to see if this is an option.
I got a question.. Now as I was reading the specs on this thing.. I did notice that it was supposed to be put in an area that is not going to get water on it rain snow or anything like that.. did you take that into consideration?
Ne we did not. We have no other choice here in pacifica. Where it's wet all the time. We are right across the street from the ocean. These guys are wet everyday and are still working
Check The connection between the camera and the plug going to the solar panel and make sure it's clean and it's getting a good connection so that it could charge the camera properly
According to Arlo the solar panels does not charge the battery it should just keep the battery charged which in my case does not work which is quite frustrating. If you do purchase the Arlo Pro 4 do purchase as well the battery charger, you would need it to charge your battery. There is also a 25 feet charging cable. The cable and charger uses a USB but you would need an adapter for it to work. I taught the solar panel would charge the battery but this is not so which is quite disappointing.
There is one issue I noticed. The camera you’re trying to hook the solar panel into must be mounted on a magnet holder. If you have a screw type holder, this will not work, because the end port covers the screw thread. Pls Let me know if others are having this issue.

What size drill bit is required?

The panels are the way to go! I ordered them with the Ultra2 set of 3 with the hub.
Definitely
I just did this today. Working well so far. Thanks for the video.
You're welcome
Thanks. That helps me quite a bit. Now to get on ladder and get this installed.
You're welcome
good video, but I would not use drywall screws b/c they will rust quickly. Use exterior deck screws.
Everything here rusts fast its right across the street from the ocean.
Many thanks for this great video!
You're very welcome
I bought a 3 camera bundle with one solar panel. Do I need a solar panel for each camera. New to this camera thing.
Oh I just noticed that you can move the solar panel to each camera to charge. Got it, thanks for the video.

Yes. Internet us still necessary. These are just for power
Hi, new to all this. What screws did you use and what size drill bit was this
Not too sure of the exact but size but I think I used just regular wood screws. If not then drywall screws
really well made and helpful video. Thank you for your excellent work.
You're welcome
Short and sweet, nice job!

Is it possible to just secure the panel to the roof without using the mounting hardware? I'd want to make it out of site.
I'm sure you can liquid nail that sucker on anything. Or whatever adhesive you think you'll do best
Thank you, very helpful and easy to understand.
You're welcome
Does the solar panel continually keep the battery charged to the point you don't need to recharge the battery anymore?
Yes
Do you have to have a separate panel for each camera?
Yup. They have a single camera connection for each panel. The panels don't generate enough power for more than one camera.
Yes
I just bought this kit …. How do we install to be able to actually see footage ? Can we connect to our old arlo hub ???
You have to add the camera to your arlo app
How has it been working? Looks like you had a good location.
Works well. We have 5 of these up in this location and 4 in Las vegas
Hello! One of My solar panel shows 20 % charged in 3 months, why? How to fix it? Can you give me some advice please? Thanks ❤
Check the connection between the camera and the plug for the solar pannel and make sure the connection is clean

Very helpful. DOES THE SOLAR COMPLTELY BIYPASS THE BATTERIES OR CAN THE UNIT USE BOTH DEPENDING ON AVAILABLE SUNLIGHT?
🙏🙏
The solar pannel is there to charge the battery

Good job dude
Thank you. I really appreciate that
I did mine and one chargers great the other doesn’t and the panels are both pointed at the same direction
Could it be a battery issue?
@@migueltorres79you might be right
Wouldn't it be easy to unplug it tho? Doesn't seem secure enough.
Unplug what? And I don't know how to make it more secure than how they wanted it mounted.
@@migueltorres79 unplug the charging cable.
@carlos10571 the cable wasn't plugged in until the end of the installation.

We have them also without the magnetic holder and it mounts just fine
@@migueltorres79 are you saying you were able to use the screw type camera holder?
@@sureshsundaram7506 yes

@sureshsundaram7506 look at the camera on the top corner that is a screw type holder. I wish I would have taken a closer video. But it will work
Very nice sir
Thank you
good video, thanks!
You're welcome
Does it work with the Arlo s4
Not too sure. But you can check if it's the same plug
