    Does it show it charging when plugged into the solor panel ?

      @Tech4Baba  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It does when the solar panel is actually charging the camera battery. Thanks for watching, scs.classics! Stay safe.

      Thanks for watching and asking, pbohac1983! Mine gets about 3-4 hours of good sunlight most of the days here in the winter. It has kept my camera charged so far. Stay safe.

    Is it working fine in winter? I stay in Alberta, where it goes minus temperatures for 4 months. Is it worth buying?

      Good question, Prasad! Accordingly to Arlo, for safety reasons, the solar panel cannot charge your camera battery at temperatures below freezing. Thanks for watching and asking. Stay safe.

      @@Tech4Baba ok. Thank you for the information. I got weatherproof long enough cables with adapters and smart wifi plugs. This way I can turn it on and off from my smart phone from anywhere to charge my arlo cameras. Fortunately I got exterior outlets in my backyard.🙂

    Solar panels are basically useless if its a high traffic area. My backyard which is mostly a dead zone amd works fine. The one on my side of the house doesn't get the best sun light but does help the length of the battery but after 2 weeks its still down in the 70% with low/medium activity. I ended up buying 20ft cables and a power brick to keep mine charged and returned the solar panels.

    I bought the 25ft charging cable. I mounted the camera where the cable came down by sliding door. Drilled a hole ran the cable through that and plugged it in to the wall problem solved.

    Has anyone snipped off the magnetic connector and and wired on a micro USB for the Arlo Pro 2? I picked up 2 of these panels for $20 each and would like to make these work!

    Well, if you're building a new house better make a security project and install an USB outlet near each camera.

    Now the solar panels are mostly out of stock everywhere and the few that are available are really expensive I think 120$ is cheapest arlo brand I found but usually 150$ damn ppl jacking the prices because not many available

    • @Tech4Baba
      @Tech4Baba  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's too bad! $150 is way too much. Hope the price comes back down soon. Thanks for watching and sharing, Mike! Stay well.

      @@Tech4Baba I was low on my price they were actually 199$ to 220 on ebay I got lucky arlo got a some in not many they sold out within half hour so I was able to buy some it messed up and ordered twice so I just sold the extra on ebay for 90 free ship they sold 10 minutes after listing

      That’s weird. They’re like $70 online?

    • @miker5700
      @miker5700 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@abimbolaaku2709 nope genircs are 50 to 70 but I wouldn't buy them really the arlo brand ones aren't really worth it either! All mine always stop working and say can't charge use with arlo supported charging device and when not saying that they still hardly do anything. I wouldn't waste your money!!! Arlos site occasionally will restock them but very few so sell out fast there 90 from them but ppl on ebay Amazon jack the prices but the cameras that take this panel are old outdated and I think company stopped making the cameras that use this pannel even the go they discontinued and haven't made replacement cellular camera mine are only month old and have tons of issues I'm constantly having to unhook cameras and reconnect wires trying to get working again usually have to bring inside and charge battery only last couple days Instead of 2 3 months think it's because old technology and uses micro USB instead of C type like how old phones always had to move charger around to get them to charge well yea these use those junk connections so don't waste your money
