Potassium-Ion Batteries - Dr. Fabian Jeschull

Research into potassium-ion batteries has increased significantly in recent years. Potassium is many times more abundant on earth and is therefore cheaper. In addition, potassium #batteries generate a higher voltage than their #lithium or #sodium-based counterparts. Despite their lower capacity, potassium energy storage systems can therefore achieve a comparable energy density to lithium iron phosphate batteries. In this video, Dr. Fabian Jeschull (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) demonstrates the potential he sees in potassium-ion batteries.

As demand and uses for batteries increase, the technology will quickly get better and cheaper.
Battery technology today is where the combustion engine was in 1900.
There is VAST room for improvement.
