Never owned a Mustang, drove a friend's 2nd gen Mustang (1974-1978) for awhile, with the peppy little 4 cyl/4 speed manual trans in it. It was a good little car, though it was often called the PintoStang, since it was based on the Pinto frame. I always wanted the Cobra II from those years, mostly because of Farrah Fawcett, one of the Charlie's Angels actresses, drove a white Cobra II and it looked sharp with a cute blonde in it, according to my teenage eyes. Matter of fact, I think Ford had some kind of a deal with that TV series at the time, because Jacyln Smith, another Charlie's Angel drove a tan Mustang II Ghia around too. Maybe I watched too much of that show as a kid. That poster though, you know the one.
Just found your channel, I think you are awesome and we are definitely cousins. I actually forgot to tighten my own drive shaft. I don't wanna brag, v but when I heard the rattling I knew what it was. The cool part is you didn't leave your driveshaft bolts loose! So I figured that I will keep watching and learn some Foxbody tip from you.
I will bet your short block is still good, good crosshatch and main bearings, these motors are tough as nails!! Do you have a chip for scrappy??? If you keep the 5.0, (I hope) I have a SCT chip I am no longer using and if you need it, it's yours, I will gladly donate it for Scrapparoo if you need it sound good...??? Let me know and I will ship it from the frigid north here in Canada!!! Before I did my Trick Flow top end kit, with a bone stock long block, GT40 intake like yours Pro M 75 mm mass air, stock 19# injectors, BBK 70 MM throttle body and EGR , 1 5/8 shorty unequal headers, BBK 2 1/2" H-pipe with cats flowmaster 2 chamber cat back exhaust with 2 1/2" tailpipes, I made 237 Hp and 282 LBS of torque to the wheels with a good tune, don't forget a good adjustable fuel pressure regulator, I'm running a rebuild-able Kirban from LMR, set at 39 PSI. That alone gave me 6 HP to the wheels lol!! With GT40 3 bar heads you would make about 260 to 265 at the wheels I'm thinking..about 305 at the crank.... Hoping to help out a fellow member of the Fox Body community....BUT I did consider an LS block......Insert sinister music here !!!
I relate to this guys foxbody journey so much haahaha. Ive had a 92 summer edition mustang for about 2 and a half years now. In those 2 and a half years ive replaced my rear main seal 3 times and re-sealed my trans twice. Not to mention replacing my oil pan because well.. as you can guess, it started leaking!
These cars suspension were never designed for "0 to 60". It's 1950s technology...You need a dedicated complete drag suspension with slicks to get decent 0 to 60 times. My 83 GT does 6.8 on a good street radials but still spinning all through 1st and 2nd like is on ice, the suspension is really setup for turns though not 0 to 60. With traction I would drop to low 5s easily. My brother's 88 GT did a 5.5 with slightly better traction and less mods than my car with my roller motor, cam, 4.10s, long tubes, performer rpm Intake, holley 650 HP dp
Nice! I was thinking Maricopa. Trying to look at the surrounding to see haha. Great channel bro, I’ll keep watching. Maybe one day our notch’s will cross paths.
@@VeteranRevivals Ya I have a couple of buddies out in the east valley that drive over here for the meets and shows. Most of them do the cruises up north. Hey man, I have a running motor from a 1995 gt sitting here. Also have a B cam and an Edelbrock upper and lower intake ….😉. I only have them for a “just in case” but otherwise not going to use them.
Taikuu Art.. I figured something out for you, save you a little bit of cranial exercise.. All them missing bolts.. Yep, Dude sold you a half a car, he kept the other half to sell for scrap, double the profit...😂😂😢😢 I don't care who you are, that was funny..
The expression at 7:10 in the video is a great way to explain Foxbody ownership. 🤣
😂😂 yes, indeed
Oh man!!!! Please don’t LS swap it!!!! I love your video either way but please keep the 302!!!
Haha we'll see once we yank it out
@@VeteranRevivals a set of GT40s heads from the Bone yard and it will keep it Very budget and you will be surprised. Awesome stuff brother! Keep at it
