I had a 91 LX convertible exactly like this one, but mine had red interior, automatic. Mine was also a dog. I added 3.73 rear gears. This made a huge difference in power. It would smoke both tires off the line.....
I have a foxbody convertible as my daily in Florida. One thing that every past owner passes on to the next owner is the window mount and guide bushings. (If this applies to you)

Sell the Mustang as/is. Won't get more money if they are done. The buyer is looking for a toy and just wants a car without major problems (engine/trans/body). Buyer expects to have to do some repairs, and the repairs (glass/top) are easy to find someone to do.
Wanna make a killing??? Open a upholstery shop in New England you cant find any to do work for next year and one guy actually told me he wouldn't do vinyl on a car that came with vinyl seats haha only leather and it was a year and a half out other shop said they'd do it right but was to busy to take my money also lkq shut their glass department down in usa we can only get junk warped windshields from china.
The extra center console in the trunk is probably the original one. The one in the car right now has cupholders which weren't in there from factory, but it's fairly common to switch the console in order to add cupholders.
@@startingtech3900 yeah but they're selling themselves as a therapy service and then giving over the survey info which is a lot more detailed than your average info that other companies have. You're supposed to be going to better help to deal with health issues and you're paying for that help and then they're harvesting very personal info to sell to Facebook etc.
The reason one is round and one is square is the round one matches the round door unlock on the outside of your car, the square one fits in the square hole in your ignition lmao pretty easy to remember. If the key hole is round you probably use the round key lol i had an 87 ford mustang and even more crazy is IT WAS A FACTORY 4 CYLINDER!!!! With a 5 speed manual trans! It was fun!!!
I’ve got an 89 SSP foxbody. I’m seeing a wet spot behind the passenger front tire. I’m at 6:27 in the video but I’d bet that’s the heater core which is notorious for leaking.
Great content Craig! As a car guy, I appreciate the extra car details! We’ve always wanted to go to an auction, maybe we’ll see you and your team there in January!
I have a 1989 Lincoln Town car with a 5.0 had a chip installed and the performance is 100 percent better it can move out of its own way does around 100 miles per hour plus 250000 miles 😊
first thing about convertible tops i ever remember being told was: do not operate the top in winter. I was 6. that was 1983. I have lost zero tops doing that.
The center console is from late model restoration or LMR they didn't come with cup holders and usb ports. The one in the trunk is the original with the ashtray. It might be original miles because i believe when it hits 99,999 the goes to 10,000 the 1 to the left gets offset. Maybe a carfax will show. Auto and convertible are the lowest prices so best of luck 👍
I might have to attend that auction. We live 1.5 hours away from there. Love seeing Grandpa Al but when I say that it reminds me of Al Lewis of Munsters fame.
This is right up my alley. I fully restored a 1986 Foxbody T Top in Jalapeno Red. Now i own a 1979 Foxbody coupe. Greg, convertable foxbodies have surpased hatchbacks in the past year. In FB groups they go for 7k-15k.
I had a 93 GT,the last year of Fox body. It was a fun car with a great sounding exhaust. Always got looks when I drove it. Bad thing about it was it was cheaply made and as time went on it slowly fell apart.
Absolutely hooked, I already like your auction videos, I’m a huge mecum/ Barrett Jackson fan and a car enthusiast so you got me until the end . And I’ve been waiting for the next mecum
Fun fact abt c4 corvettes, they also have 2 keys, an ignition one and one for the doors, glovebox, and rear storage compartment. As well both keys are one sided and go in upside down
Some newer convertibles, maybe all, do not roll the windows all the way up until the top is up and secured. And then automatically raise the window that last quarter inch into the weather seal.
90 to 92 mustangs center consoles with the armrest was an option for whatever reason also he only mustangs with white rims and white interior had white bumper guard molding in 1991 LX 5.0 have their molding color matched to the car instead of black. They also made red with white leather and white rims yellow white leather white rims white on white but the prettiest LX convertible color was a coward called j green made in 89 but unfortunately it had the GT turbine but it did have the white interior
I bought my 1988 mustang GT in 1993 from auction, it needed a 3/4 nose and it had a clean title so I didn't have to go thru the inspection nonsense of showing receipts for everything etc with 907A .I paid $1,900 it got shipped to my uncles collision shop and we tore into it ,put it on the frame machine and straightened it along with cutting the rails from the front of the strut towers and pieced the new cradle/basket in .I was into this car for about $3,500 and the plan was to sell it but I used it and it ended up being a great car ,I kept it till 1996 and sold it for $4k ,Great memories and times with my 88 GT
The reason they swapped out the original console is because the stock one in the trunk didn't have cup holders. And you're right, the automatics were slugs.
You might want to role windows down when putting up top I have a 2021 gt conv. And windows go down when top goes up and had a 1988 fox body mustang it was nice
You should take your Ferrari to Mecum and get rid of that albatross. I go to Mecum every year with my XFit buddy to get drift rides in the Hellcats, hope to see you there! (The sausage and peppers sub at the food court is mighty spectacular!)
Didn't you learn with the Cobra? Mecum and BJ aren't really the best places to sell cars you have to recon, unless it's a six figure car. Most of the cheap cars you see go through are preserved cars that needed little to no recon.
I believe that car has 225 horsepower. That is crazy my 2.0 ecoboost has 250 horsepower now. It is crazy how dialed back they had those engines. It is cool you spending time with your grandpa, you need to cherish every minute with him!
The windows will automatically go back up. Every time when the top is up the window will be just a hair down until you shut the door then it will go up
Why would you not buy yourself a fifth wheel car carrier trailer? You already have a truck and are constantly paying shipping cost. You could then buy up to three more cars in Vermont and still have the option to buy in Orlando as well if need be?
Then you need to hire a driver and employee expenses. Insurance costs are high to be carrying 3 cars. Unless it's constantly on the road it's a net loser.

If you are buying a $10,000 toy vehicle in 2023 you going to have to be ok with some issues. Shits expensive.
I love the Fox body mustangs. I've had 3, and wish I still had one today. I look forward to seeing you bring this one back to life.
One of the best sounding engines!
I'm here in the UK, may I ask what a Fox body is please?
The Fox Body is the platform Ford used for the 1979 - 1993 Mustang but it started with the 1978 Fairmont.@@robblack7560
@robblack7560 1979-1993 Ford Mustang. The generation between Mustang II and SN95 chassis.
The ultimate Fox, to me, is the 87-93 notchback LX 5.0, 5sp. Few clean survivors left out there.
The extra center console in the trunk is probably the original one. The one in the car right now has cupholders which weren't in there from factory, but it's fairly common to switch the console in order to add cupholders.

Not "direct" from Florida....has a Mass inspection sticker. 99's are just the Northeast, mostly New England. Says the guy from Texas (via Boston).
Center console in car is aftermarket with cupholders..car has 225 hp rating..windows need adjustment
Merry Christmas Craig & papa AL 🎉
Best part of the episode- “having lunch with this guy” priceless

Cheap to maintain, fun to drive; gets a 👍everywhere I go.
I might have to attend that auction. We live 1.5 hours away from there. Love seeing Grandpa Al but when I say that it reminds me of Al Lewis of Munsters fame.
Console was swapped out for one with cup holders. Worst part about the fox body. No cup holders lol great upgrade
I had a couple of 5.0 back in the day. I wouldn't mind another, just not a convertible.
This is right up my alley. I fully restored a 1986 Foxbody T Top in Jalapeno Red. Now i own a 1979 Foxbody coupe. Greg, convertable foxbodies have surpased hatchbacks in the past year. In FB groups they go for 7k-15k.

Mint condition GT that arev stock are going for 15000 and the problem with the 302 Windsor block you make over 400 horsepower they split in half
Why don’t you run the Ferrari too
LMR Late Model Restoration for all parts needed.
