You're welcome
Pur krass!
Thanks.
Done this cross border stuff one time with an agri tractor I was converting to make it look like a old steam engine. So many loops to jump through. Forgive me for asking but how is it that with all the trucks on the American Continent that peole come across the pond to find one. I like the idea you have about a plate near the exit - in Ireland we refer to it as passing 'round the hat. Remember that you would never have got to 1.44K subscribers with me!😄
Very good question why using an European truck, because there is nothing comparable to them on the American market. Light weight, extremally flexible, build for all purpose like a building set system ( same base truck different commercial use case ), good gas milage, advanced automotive technology, affordable you name it. If you try to find a 4x4 base truck in North America you most likely end up with a Mitsubishi Fuso or a HINO or an retired Military truck which are build for the Military not for commercial use therefore not really comfortable . Just my two cents ! Cheers
Congratulations 🌟 Well done. If I can narrow down the size of the truck. Like you mentioned its better to over size than get a truck that won't sustain the weight / load. ( paraphrasing of course. )
Have found a few nice 1428s that are still under 30k€ which am trying to find / negotiate to around 23k€ which helps me stay at a 30k +- budget.👍💪🛠
Will reach out to Bruce when further along.
Thanks 👍There is a few 1222 and 1224 MB on the German Government auction platform right now !

Not only, guess russians so excited truck they had
Thanks
Hi, very interesting video. Because it is a Fire truck, does it turn more complicated, due to more items to be specific and inspected?
Thank you for the question, the answer is no because you import the truck as a truck. Not to be used as a firetruck, I had my truck already gutted in germany before we shipped it to Canada. You can see it in my earlier videos.
Thank you! Extremely helpful. My west coast quote was 9k euros vs 5k euros to Halifax. How much was the bonded transport to the lower mainland?
Glad it was helpful! You can leave tips on the plate near the exit lol. The transfer over the border was 1200 if I remember correctly, but they had planned to bring it on a trailer over. But it was a kerfuffle because they had the information to pick up a truck and the guy arrived in Seattle with a cute little trailer lol, had to go back next day with plates and drove it up the border.
@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF I'll buy you a beer when we meet in the trucks!
There is something called a binder of insurance you can get from ICBC, it seems like it would let me drive across Canada but I haven't confirmed yet. Did you look into that? I will have Dutch plates when it arrives, so hopefully plates plus binder of insurance I should be legal.
@@SB-nr1dz It could be, I was not looking in to that since I knew that the Panama route is available I scrapped all other thoughts. One ICBC agent said to me if I wanna drive it across the country I have to insure it in every individual province when crossing and stuff like that. On the other hand I was considering the distance of 5500km in one ride and the truck was never running that far and long in his existence. So potential brake downs and what this could cost and eventual needed parts which have to be organized from Europe potentially. I could stuck on this trip for weeks if not month so therefore I decided to pay a little more for shipping but have my peace.
@@oscaroverlander_MB1222AF makes a lot of sense, a good move. I wish the Panama route wasn't almost twice the price for me now. But I am hoping the road trip is fun! Time will tell 😁🤞
