  • The last little film in our film series is a steering knot for hooked flies. Do you use a steering knot or do you risk to fish your fly in the wrong angle? Check this out, simple but very effective!

    Mikael, would you tie on the tippet line before you dress the fly, as there are no obstuctions to the knot being tied around the hook, or do you attach the fly to the tippet after tying your fly pattern?, by the way this knot is unreal, thank you so much.

    You know better and catch more. I catch a lot on the rapala knot on doubles. Free swinging all the way. What do you think?

      Dont realy like it since the fly kan be hanging a bit too much..

    Just goes to show how important the knots are. The only connection between us and the fish of a lifetime. If any other knots were used might spell disaster and disappointment, frustrating to say the least. Can never over emphasize this subject. Thank you very much Mikael.

    Having just started salmon fishing and on my first day out hooking a spring salmon, my perfection knot cut through the leader and the fish went. This will be my go to knot from now on. Genius. Thank you so much.

    • @frodinflies
      @frodinflies  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi - sure but it dosent stear! .. meaning the knot can slip in the hook eye and the fly will fish incorrect

    Mikael, is it the TURLE KNOT?, isn´t it ?

    Why not just a loop?

    • @frodinflies
      @frodinflies  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The fly will hang down.. the leader and knot should help stearing the fly in the right way..making it fish balanced...

      @@frodinflies maybe in the slow water, but there's another popular theory (or a stereotype) that a loop makes the fly more playful, just like you underline in your videos, movement of the fly is a key.
