You really make the list of greatest TH-cam dads! My dad isn't on TH-cam, but he makes the list because a decade ago he taught me to fish. Dads that teach kids trapping, hunting, camping, or fishing are the best dads ever!

I honestly think it's so cute how you let your kids participate in your channel too. They get to have the cool experience of being online and getting seen by "the whole internet" while also learning about these animals. It's just such a cool way to give them a hands-on experience with nature and science (or at least biology) and get them excited for learning new things.

So many times.
Some people such as hunters feel a little separated from their prey and perhaps a bit guilty. I think Shawn “risks” his little injuries as an homage or tip of the hat to his furry prey. Also it’s kinda bad-assed.

My grandmother had a soft tanned mole skin in her body powder box, super soft for apply makeup on face or baby powder to underarms when getting dressed. As a boy I made a few.

I've been using these for a couple seasons now and they're the best ones ive used so far and ive tried 5 or 6 different styles of mole traps.

I put out the ole standard basic mousetrap and used the piece of cheese on it.
When I went there this morning, there were two dead mice laying next to it but the Trap wasn't sprung.
Then I realize that they had both saw this old fashion device and laughed themselves to death.

When Clementine went down, I was worried that we might have a bit of a toddler breakdown on our hands. But it's great to see Shawn including his kids in this sort of thing. Let them learn about nature and life early, see that there's nothing to fear from rodents and the like, and also see how to get rid of them in as humane and responsible a fashion as possible.

It's worth putting the trap back in there. These buggers seem to expand in families, so once I catch one, I tend to catch one or two more of them over a few days in the same place.
I watched your video a few days ago, and was impressed, so I ordered some of these traps, and got them yesterday morning. I put two in a fresh run like you did, and I just checked them, and I caught one big ugly mole. These really work real good, and thank you!!!

I have moles in my yard, but they're a really small species. They don't leave any mounds, but instead dig quarter-sized holes in a few spots in my flowerbeds. They eat grubs, which is pretty nice. So, I say if you have the little bitty moles that aren't doing any damage, just leave them be.

Shawn you can heat up a needle and stick it to your nails where it's black...do it twice a day and in a week it will be good again...I had my nails broken a lot of time it worked for me...Love your videos

We use the trapline mole trap on our pocket gophers, i recommend keeping a thumb on the back of the trigger when placing the trap in the tunnel. It can be startling to have it go off when inadvertently activating the jaws.

Hey, just a little FIY for you to think about. Twice now in the last year I accidentally caught 2 moles with rat traps. I have an area where I always have 2 - 4 snap traps set for rats, and twice now these moles actually have come out of the ground, got on top of the rat traps to get to the peanut butter and whole peanuts that I use for bait. I've never heard of this. I've never heard of moles coming totally out of their holes and on to the grounds surface either.

Dang man. I’m constantly wondering now just how infested my place might be. If a guy like you is CONSTANTLY catching pests, and I’m not even trying, there must be mice, rats, chipmunks, squirrels, moles, voles, and gophers all over my house and property. Time to get busy!
I'm just here for the FLIP. I wasn't disappointed.
Those kinds of traps work great for the gophers we have but then the smaller gophers were not setting off the traps. We started leaving out penny gum balls for them to eat, since they couldn’t digest them we were able to finish them off
They work great, just got four more traps last week. Gets em overnight just about every time.👍
I know I have moles. In the Spring, they used to leave mounds of dirt as in your video. Now in the Fall, I only see raised runs under grasss that don't look fresh. I also see a lot of holes in my lawn from 1 inch to 2 inches in diameter. I did set up one of those "Dead-set" traps which have 6 spikes which descend into the ground if a mole tries to re-use a tunnel, but so far, after 2 week, no luck. Do mole activities change from Spring to Fall? If possible, I'd like to get rid of them before next Spring.
