Door and bonnet gaps are far from great from what I can see on a video, I dread to think what else I would notice if the car was in front of me. OK, you have done your best and nobody likes negative comments of course but it pains me. Everyone in the trade knows that 99% of people know very little about fit and finish, eg. the "smart" repairers, "they fixed my car on my drive and it's perfect". I'd be really interested to know what that "body restoration" cost Harry, I will wait until I have the opportunity to ask.

Harry, as the proud owner of a 1969 series 1 1300 Fulvia Sport Zagato, this series of videos has been both inspirational and invaluable to say the least! I am currently going through the restoration process; the car has been stripped back to bare metal, all the metal work carried out and painted in it’s original ‘Blu Mendoza’. My engine is currently being completely rebuilt and I’m hoping she’ll be back on the road for the summer. There are considerably more than a handful of Lancia Fulvia Sports in the UK. About 60 counted as licensed in ‘How Many Left’.

How marque experts could have the car in the shop for months without knowing it was a plastic pig is not credible.

The earliest Fulvias were the Series 1 Berlinas and it slightly irritates that many people refer to the Fulvia Coupe as a ‘Fulvia’ or even worse ‘the normal Fulvia’…in relation to the Fulvia Sport. All three are fantastic cars of course.

Your emotional response to seeing the completed car was fab too see. It’s what’s missing in modern cars regardless of their propulsion. Nothing moves us anymore. As the manufacturers have chased BHP, technology and become mobility companies, they’ve lost that emotion. 50 years ago that Zagato sparked your love of cars and 50 years later it’s still able to move you physically and emotionally. I look down a typical street in Britain today and I’m not surprised young people are not bothered by cars anymore. That they don’t have an emotional response. I don’t see any 10 year old lusting over a Model S or Kia EV6 enough to spark a lifetimes passion in cars. A passion that can inspire hard work to be able to indulge. And I certainly don’t see these cars being restored to this standard or any standard for that matter, in 50 years time. Cars should be an emotional thing. They take us on journeys where we truly experience life’s ups and downs, create memories and live. I’m so pleased this Zagato gets to create even more memories for you Harry, for many more years to come. Thank you for letting us share the journey with you, for not hiding your emotions and for sharing the costs. At £100k I think it represents massive value as what else for that money could spark those memories, that joy, that time travel, that excitement. In short, nothing. Thank you again and I look forward to seeing more of the Zag on the channel.

My uncle's neighbor restored old Alfa Romeo coupes - I can remember the day I first saw one. Before they were "hot" things on the market.... the GT Coupe - and the blue one he had had a big white meatball on both sides and some neat wheels...a lot like your car's. Long, long time ago. Been into cars ever since and when I see a car that has that small Italian coupe look I just sort of melt a little inside....they are so beautiful. Different kind of thing but there is something poetic in the small Italian coupes.
If I found the very car he had in his garage ...... The guys that did that are amongst the things that make up the best part of the world we live in - art is for all of us and thank you for sharing the car and the story. And the pictures. What a car!

I can tell how special the car is for you just listening how your voice crumbles a bit at the end of the video Harry. I'm so happy for you, today we saw a child's dream come true. Fantastic. 👏👏👏

Both Fulvias are breathtaking. Gorgeous cars. They are reminiscent of the Dino and Stratos semi-twins. So similar and yet so different. I'll have to wait until next year to ask Santa to bring me one...or the other 😊 Can't wait for the test drive...and the first fettle....and the first drive after the first fettle...and the next drive after several months and it's all bedded in...and ...

I had a car restored, which also took 2 years (plus some), and I remember the emotion I felt when I first saw it in paint, I had a proper lump in my throat and could hardly speak. Thanks Harry for this, I was right there with you when they pulled off that cover, a fantastic moment. And what a result!

Enjoyed every minute of the progress for this Lancia, in all the episodes. Extremely pleased for you Harry. The way you spoke afterwards , it sounded like a life - long ambition , so the cost is irrelevant, you have achieved it , earned it , and now got the badge for it ! Very well deserved. All the best for Christmas and the new year.

I can see this has been a pretty emotional moment, getting the car back to the standard it deserves to be in, and back into the fold. I have to admit to having a tear or two, seeing it all finally come together and giving me cause to reflect on my own journey with my little project. A lovely Christmas day upload and very much appreciated! (ps everyone's getting an updoot today!)

What fabulous skills the panel beaters and engineers have used to put this gorgeous piece of history back in a better condition than when it was new. It's easy to say it's worth every penny but I also believe it's true. It's a stunning example! ...Fantastic work!

this is what a passion does for you. You could see Harry was about to break at the end over "a bit of metal"... but when you have that history and deep felt passion, few other things will render that emotion...

I'll confess to a lump in my throat as you talked about the car & build just for you because it sparked your love of cars. Speaking personally, I'm forever grateful for your neighbour 50 odd years ago, we've all enjoyed you sharing your passion and enthusiasm for cars and car culture since, keep it up for a long time yet, please! And can't wait until your next installment about your fleet!

I can understand the passion to restore the Lancia to the standard you have. For someone who is interested in cars, having a pristine version of a car which has personal significance is something only a car enthusiast would understand. It won't be long until the first Spring day with unsalted roads returns! Great to see what can be done with the right skills.

People get too hung up on costs and value wars, when emotions get involved, costs become irrelevant....

Lovely to see it back on the road in such a magnificent state. When I was in high school in Sydney in the early 1970s one of my classmates would occasionally drive to school her mother’s pale yellow Fulvia Zagato .Quite something back then, the family had money. Some years later I worked in valet parking at the Sydney Hilton hotel and a Zagato came in a few times. Such a classy car and a pleasure to drive it, even if it was just in first gear underground!

I almost ran away in one of these , when I was a student back in the early 70s. Instead I just borrowed it for the weekend , washed it and put it back in the showroom. Being a part-time car salesman had its perks, but nothing like getting to keep this one - gorgeous example .
