What I love about his reviews is that he keeps it simple, concise, and complete. Also he plays full Melodie’s so that you get a good idea of the products utility. And that’s really what it comes down to. Quite honestly the larger majority of guitar players out there are not professional players. Givers don’t count. And that majority of players have no real equitable reason to own the large brands upper tear guitars. They just don’t. Those elite companies know that but still market the guitar for that 99%. Because they can and you fall for it. And so they will. But, if there was a massive sweep in the less expensive direction I believe it would have a positive impact for the customers. Demanding better quality for you buck. Also increasing the demand for better ingenuity and development for higher end stuff. It would revolutionize the industry and bring us lower tear guys what we need and honestly what we deserve. So bravo Harley Benton for leading the charge.

Videos are good, and so is the guitar. Better said, was. Now, Thomann are only making these from meranti wood. Which is heavier, and sounds MUCH worse... 😢
The guitar he plays is quality mahogani. They made a quiet shift to meranti, w.o. anybody even noticing.
Which is a shame, really. Other brands keep building from mahogani.
Just do your own research on meranti tonewood and you'll see why...

It’s great that beginner guitarists these days can get a quality playing and sounding instrument for a really affordable price. There weren’t any options back when I started learning in 1980. I struggled with a horrible, and always out of tune, Les Paul copy for a few years before I was able to upgrade to a nice USA Hamer. The quality gap between budget and premium brand guitars has definitely narrowed.

Narrowed? Dude, it downright overlaps. There's plenty of high-end guitars on the market that couldn't come close to sounding this good.

Great looking and sounding guitar with Steve Vai's "Tree of Life" on the fretboard.
With a new nut, fret polish and setup will be a great addition to any collection.
Best of all is that for a change is that can buy one!
Thanks for this Demo Jonathan, the clean tones were superb.

Good morning Jon! I just got my JA-25TH anaversary. Love it. Well, I just discovered HB's CST line. And now, the CST semi hollow...
I don't know which one. Maybe one. In July. A birthday present to myself. I've looked at the HB 35 plus, the HB Aeolus, now this one...
I'm not really fond of the ivy growing on the fretboard though...

@@JonIsJustTooLoudhello Jon. Your reviews are the best for many reasons... I'm considering this guitar. I would go for the CST 24 Tortoise flame but most of all, I'm looking for not too heavy. You mentioned that this one was light. Do you know how much it weighs? Thanks a lot for your unbiased reviews and the music of course.
Also wanted to ask about the bridge. You can't intonate each string individually. Is this a problem?

You made that one sing Jon. You can’t intonate the bridge. It’s something that comes up in the FB group a lot so usually the first thing to be replaced is the bridge. It is a great guitar for the price though. A teen Tom would have snapped one up in a heartbeat when you consider what was around for a much dearer price in the 80s. Great demo Jon thanks. 👍😄❤️
