    PRS called... they want their head stock back, lol, ha ha ha... I know, I know. I’ve had a wrap around bridge like this one that you can’t intonate - never again. Sure is pretty though!

    • @DesertScorpionKSA
      @DesertScorpionKSA 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This bridge has movable G and B string saddles so different gauge strings can be intonated though it's not as flexible as a tonepros style bridge.

    • @oldguyjammin9732
      @oldguyjammin9732 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Well I guess PRS can take a lesson from the HP folks, with the moveable G and B strings on that wrap around bridge. Great selection of amps! Nice to see the Egnater in there, love there stuff.

    • @TobysGuitarGearDemos
      @TobysGuitarGearDemos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No don't have a problem with it as the neck is quite light 👍I used to have a black one as well and that was border-line neck heavy so I think it varies guitar to guitar.

    Living only an hour from Thomann, I've been checking this modell out a few times but never bought one.
    How's the whole setup and crafting quality of your CST24?

    • @TobysGuitarGearDemos
      @TobysGuitarGearDemos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey, The Finish is great, electronics are all solid. Setup was decent - a tad higher than I like, I'll lower it a touch at some-point. Necks very nice has a medium thickness.
      One thing that I've never seen before is at the 12th fret they forgot to add the second dot on the side of the fingerboard. Also the headstock had a couple of knocks from the factory. I contacted Thomann and they gave me a small discount.
      I much prefer these wrap around bridges to the trem versions, not had any problems with intonation and you can adjust them at either end if needed. 👍

    Hi, is this guitar great for jazz when using the neck pickup? How does it compare to a cheap full body jazz guitar?

  • @jeffmaddry4940
    @jeffmaddry4940 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I happen to like the inlays. So I ordered the guitar. However, the guitar I received only had regular dot inlays, despite all the images, videos, and product description listing the Morning Star inlays as a feature... when I asked them why, the only answer I got was that the website images are only "similar" and will have slight variances. I understand that when talking about wood grains or maple tops, but not product features! Not to mention the "set up" was unplayable. I could literally fit my finger in between the strings and the frets on the higher frets.
    Don't buy this guitar. The description is not accurate to the actual product, and apparently that is only a "similar variance"

    • @TobysGuitarGearDemos
      @TobysGuitarGearDemos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Sometimes ones slip through the QC. My advice is to return it to Thomann and get your money back. I'm a big fan of Thomann + Harley Benton (I have 6 that I love) but that doesn't seem acceptable. It sounds barely playable up high and they should be matching the pictures on their website. I've returned stuff to Thomann before and they have been pretty good about it from my experience. I've always sent pictures with a detailed description in an e-mail 👍
      There is a Harley Benton support group on Facebook setup by Cory Mura, if you have any problems it can be good to post on there.

  • @onsesejoo2605
    @onsesejoo2605 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    With humbuckers, it is coil splitting. Coil tapping is for single coil pick ups. It also restricts the output as the signal is taken in between the wire, limiting the strength of the signal according to the amount of wire cut out.

    Hey man great video. I've got a question for you how good are the tuners on this guitar and did you observed any other faults in it ?
    Thanks in advance

    • @TobysGuitarGearDemos
      @TobysGuitarGearDemos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Tuners are all good no issues. Getting the intonation bang on with the PRS style Stoptail bridge can take a while to set it exactly right, as like a PRS it can only be adjusted with the screws at each end. Only thing that was bad out of the box is the 12th fret on the side of the fingerboard only has 1 dot instead of 2. I e-mailed them and the sent me back 45 euros. My advice with all guitars bought over the internet is, if you're not happy send it back. If it has a fault they will pay for the return postage 👍

    • @juanvaldez5422
      @juanvaldez5422 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      This may be a fine guitar, but it is in no way the same thing, its a 'prs style' guitar. Go play a core line prs, feel how the frets have been rounded off in little balls at the ends, look at the finish as it will be a work of art, you can feel the vibrations of every note you hit. Nothing wrong with this guitar and not saying prs is not sometimes overpriced, but they are not the same things.

    • @ArielsSmartyPants
      @ArielsSmartyPants 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No need, I've played them and don't see the justification for the cost. I like my fret ends square and as close to the edge as possible with no slant. Everyone is different but for me it's all about the sound. I also don't buy guitars to look at and prefer them painted.

    • @juanvaldez5422
      @juanvaldez5422 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ArielsSmartyPants sure. Whatever gets you off. Some guys like fat girls, thats their thing. But that wasnt my point. Comparing this 'harley benton' (which sounds horrible in the vid at least, cant always tell from a vid tbh tho) is like comparing a toyota camry to a new vette. Its not the same thing. "Painted" guitars? Well prs guitars are painted, this guitar is "painted" . Any guitar that isnt raw , open pore wood is "painted"/ stained, lol. Square frets ends, ? You like them nice and sharp too, lol. Honestly, there is so much wrong with your comment, Im not even going to say anymore. Have a good one.
