Ee paata vinutunte, naaku childhood gnyapakam ochindi. I'm from Bombay and we spoke Marathi at home but we are 4th generation Telugu speakers and my mom was actually from Warangal. This is one of my all time favorite songs, original was sung by Lata Mangeshkar from the movie Amar Bhupali and music was by late Vasant Desai who was an old family friend of ours. He passed away in a tragic elevator accident in 1977 or 1978, was regarded as the greatest music director ever other than the late Ga Di Madgulkar Sudhir Phadke. Jackson, Mississippi.
We are blessed to be born in this country, where Ghanashyam was born, lived. we are lucky that such great songs and lyrics written and presented us in one of the best melody.I can feel the beauty(sundara) of Ghanshaym.I dont know marathi, but can feel the bhakti.Great singers. actually hindi or marathi or telugu r very similar in root words as they r inspired from sanskrit, ....it is just that bollywood is occupied by muslim writers, who use urdu or arabic worrds, hence it sounds ugly

I am a Gujarati and have tremendous respect for Maharashtra and her poets, saints, artists and thinkers (not to forget the cricketers also). Some of them have contributed hugely to Gujarati literature and academics. Like someone else has mentioned, I also grew up hearing this song on "Bombay A" radio station in the happier times when radio ruled the roost. I salute the poet, the singers and the music composer for this melodious number. Fortunately, I even enjoy the wordings of Marathi. I love the way the singers pronounce the word "Ghanashyam" as in Gujarati we do not pronounce it so well! - Rajesh Bhat.

I used to live in Prabhat Road area in Pune for over 8 years. It is basically an area dominated by Maharastrian Brahmans. This song reminds of Pune. Love this bhajan.
