- Hey guys! My names Matt Mcdonough and I'm an enlisted active duty U.S Marine. I am very passionate about the Marine Corps, fitness, videography, and last but not least my family. I am married to another active duty Marine her name is Ruby and we have one daughter who is my why and my motivation for everything I do. My workouts consist of mostly bodyweight , strength, HIIT, and bodybuilding. I am all about functionality, strength, and mobility. I believe in a balance in being functionally strong, fast, and agile.

You know it’s good when Austen comments
I just wanna say thank you to every single one of y'all that's serving and supporting our troops. I love y'all with all my heart
Craig Jackson Thank you for supporting
@@matthewthomasmcdonough thank you the most
@@matthewthomasmcdonough dude thought you were blowing positive for coke when you were first leaving? Is that your or work out?
It ain't easy to wake up that early for work, but if that's something you really love, then it's totally worth it! Keep it up!
I'm a Portuguese Paratrooper.
Much love! Yes very long hours but its all worth it!
Love how much you love your daughter! You should do a video about what it’s like to have a family life in the Marines with two parents in the Marines !
Thank you for your service!
Your daughter is so adorable!!! New follower! Seen you on the video where James Charles and a couple of others did the military obstacle. Thank for what yall do and you and your family stay safe!💚
“This not the job I picked originally” ain’t that the truth
Dan stop feeling sorry for yourself and control your life instead of having the victim mentality
Dan yeah i’m sure you’ve heard it before haha
Glen Scott actually the job I got isn’t too bad. I’m stationed at a good base with a lot to do on and off base. The work I do is what you call “skate”. I thought it was funny when he said “this not the job I originally picked”
@@glenscott8367 bruh shut up 😂
This really deepened my appreciation of our service members. Thank you for your service!!
Thank you for watching!
Can’t wait to join going to take a month to work out before I go.marine corps is awesome.
What a great father and marine! Respect to you and thank you for your service!
Nice work, good to see other marines POV on things. I have been in 3.5 years and seeing other people’s videos makes me realize ive been constantly fucked over by my command multiple times my whole career and makes me hate the corps. You seem like a good dude the corps needs more of that. Its a shame theres so many toxic leaders out there, one of the reasons im getting out in 6 months.
Yeah toxic leadership can ruin someones experience. Dont take it personally every unit is different
Aaahh the memories I used to drive through camp Pendleton when I worked for Tesla I got pulled over because I was driving 37 mph on a 35 mph
Good B-Roll and all that bro, i know you got a busy life bro, all part of earning your success
Agyoolar Thank you brother i’m just going to try to post more content rather than be consumed with being a perfectionists. Can’t wait to be able to look back at this video and see how far i’ve come in the future
@@matthewthomasmcdonough what area are you on, was station on 43 area 3rd Battalion 11th Marines artillery my second hitch was 16 area 7th motor T battalion. 84- 92

Ismael Luzuriaga Thank you for watching!
Hey man my name's Mike I'm 24 and a father of 2 (same mom) with 1 on the way with my current lady. I am looking join the Corps and this video shows it definently possible to do it. I was wondering if you could do a video solely on what it's like being a father in the Corps. Becoming a Marine is what I want to do and having as much motivation as possible like a father-Corps video would really give me an extra drive!
BigWorm !! Definitely man! There’s huge benifits with having a family in the military
love how we tie our boots the exact same way
its the only way bro!
Big respect to you! Keep doing what you doing!!! God will keep you safe all the time, your family as well.
You’re the man! Much love bro👊🏻 Hopefully the Marines is the right decision for me and I make it in!
Hoorah Semper FI Forever!! My brother is a Master Sargent in the Marines. He's been through 3 wars, he's, married to a beautiful woman & they have 2 beautiful children. Marien's do this kind of stuff to not only help but to keep their minds clear of the things they know & to get over their trauma. My bother went in when he was 18 and now he's 36. These guys here are pretty much right out of boot camp.
Good video, hats off to you for your service and also being a husband and father in the Corp.
Need to check out Nick Bare here on TH-cam if you haven't already. Nick is a former U.S. Army Infantry Officer and Ranger. The guy is a beast. He does full marathons and Iron Man events. 100 mile full ruck march in 30 hours. The guy seems like a good guy and humble too.
Marcus Payne yeah i’ve met him! looked up to him for years he’s awesome
@@matthewthomasmcdonough that's cool! I've never met him, but have been following him for awhile now, and very impressed with his work ethic and dedication to fitness and his business. I'm actually old enough to be his dad since I'm in my mid 50's, but I still till this day try to stay fit too, and being a U.S.Army Airborne Infantryman veteran back in the mid to late 80's, I like the fact of him being a veteran too, and representing the Military in a good positive light. Thanks for your response, and Good luck in the Corp and being a great father and husband, that's definitely not easy in the Military being gone in the field and deployments, and thank you for your service!
I found you because i followed your wife on ig, you're doing an amazing job ,i know that you don't have much time for TH-cam but keep up with the good work
Thats awesome! Yes very busy but try to make time to make videos for y'all.
Whats her ig?
Love the content, you’re gonna be the next Nick Bare or Austen Alexander!
Brian Phan Thanks brother! i look up to those too a lot!
I was USMC air wing and lived in the barracks. Completely different experience. MCAS El Toro, CA.
Pender RBLX Can you elaborate?
@@matthewthomasmcdonough Airwing Marines go to work get straight on the aircraft and start turning wrenches, then only if theres the slightest bit of time, we do Marine "green-side" work like clean weapons and PME. But mostly the MCI's, the Range, MCMAP, that shit happens on the go. The main mission of an airwing Marine is keeping those aircraft flying and in the fight, all else in on the individual Marine to complete in his own time after the 12-14 hour workday. Its tough, but its rewarding. Oh and airwinger's will always tell you how long they work, its all they talk about. lol
El Toro/Tustin --- 3 work shifts, 7/24. Preferred 2nd or better 3rd shift..... less tops wandering about, looking for an excuse to get out of their offices.....lol... more time for plane/helo stuff and a lot less "sgtmaj" stuff... but sucked if there was a major event or something.
I watch videos like yours and other marine corp videos and these types of videos keep me motivated to join the marines. I look forward to joining the marine corps soon.
You seem like a good Marine/Father man keep up the great work... thank you and your wife for your service
Baby and puppy = cuteness overload
Yo bro what’s you job again because I’m most likely going to be heading to boot camp in June and I wanna work on trucks but you job look interesting and it made me wanna look a little my in to it
Jordan lee Jackson I do work on trucks bro! i’m a 3531 motor transport operator

God bless you all guys and thank you for your service, SEMPER FI.🇺🇸🇧🇷☝🏼🏆🏋🏼♂️ I'm watching from Brazil and my dream is to serve in the American Army the best in the World.🦅
Seeing this makes me miss the corps and my old job thanks for posting
So this is how pogs live... I'm jealous
MConBLOX Make an infantry day in the life video!
Leave the pogs alone bruh haha, we picked our job, they didn’t
MConBLOX If everyone was infantry, who would run and maintain all the other equipment the military uses? Think about that for a long while
Damn DD u r correct the POGS . They have it made.. They always clean🤷🏽♂️.. oh yeah Matt perfect name cus u look like Matt Saracen Friday Night Lights!!
What kind of POG stuffs that
Austin Brownawell you a fool for that one 😂😂😂🤣
Austin Brownawell All the infantry day in the life videos are garbage maybe you should make one
“Dismissed aye cpl” what kind of pog shit 🤣
Huge props for replying to so many comments too man. Keep that grind and you'll make it to where you want to be man.

@@matthewthomasmcdonough Well you've earned my sub
BOOT!
Mike mizzle Thanks bro!
its nice to see a cpl that isn't toxic.
Thanks homie!
Wake up in the barracks, go get some chow, drive to squadron, formation, FOD walk, flight line mechs get the “pass down” which birds need what maintenance, start turning wrenches, get lunch, go back to work, more maintenance on the birds, “pass down” to night crew, break for dinner, get back to the Barracks, BS with roommates (maybe play video games or watch VHS tape), get ready for lights out...repeat. We wore dirty zip-up blue coveralls, steel toe boots, hearing protection, hands dirty all the time, and keen awareness of tool control. No commuting on freeway and no taking care of kids. I didn’t even mention doing “work ups” and getting ready for Deployments. Air wing is just different. We really work with very little down time. It’s hard to explain. We spend more time preparing for aircraft readiness than actually doing “Marine” shiit. The E-3s turning wrenches on the birds have to know what they are doing - no room for mistakes. I was in a CH-46 squadron HMM-164 knight Riders - they are at Camp Pendleton now. Still there today, but is now Offsprey helicopters and training squadron, I believe. Laterz dawg and Semper Fi🇺🇸😎 USMC 95 - 99 Corporal.
Pender RBLX You should
make a video! I’m sure people
would love to see what happens in the wing
Matthew Thomas oorah devil dawg. I’m just an old tired vet now. I don’t have much in me left. Besides, I’ve been out of the Marines for some time. I guess you could say that I “flew under the radar” for many years after my discharge that isolated myself with self-pity as I tried to live a normal life in the so-called “civilian world.” Crazy thing is, I remember my time in the Corps (the names of fellow marines, conversations, the complaining and bitching, everything) like it was yesterday. These days, I just browse TH-cam and try to relate to young marines who post their “day and a life in the Marines” ..most of it is familiar. I will make no such videos since my life isn’t interesting and I’m just an old fart now, lol. Anyhow, love the vids and keep doing your thing. God Bless you bruh. Semper Fi till I die. Laterz homeboy.
Your daughter is adorable ❤😊
Damn , I’m glad to be Air Force

omega wolf just have fun with it man!
Thanks for what you do!
dad life rocks... Hey bro, have you thought of a military-based apparel line? like drab olive & green tee's etc? I like them but i'm not in the military so i think its tacky to wear military clothes when you've never served... if you did, i'd buy
Hey Matt does this lifestyle routine apply to marines with an MOS such as an electrician
Not sure specifically on electrician but most MOS days are structured similar to this.
Hey very informative video. I'm enlisting in a few months after my son is born. So this video is very insightful. What's your MOS ? Any advice or helpful tips before I enlist?
Im motor transport 3531 and just make the best of it!
That’s crazy that you guys form up even for chow and after
Nice day Looool
It’s like meal prepping for the baby lol 😌💯👏👏👏👏

Awesome people. Very awesome guy.
Thanks for the love!
I can never do active duty full time. I would go crazy.
I just want to say: there is always good to use crayons. Specialy anywere. Thank you for serving.
Soo...I was told to choose 3 contracts from my recruiter. I chose 03xx, 06xx, and 35xx. I ended up getting chosen to be a 0621 (radio operator) that was sent to a victor unit and after 1 month in h&s, I got sent to Weapons Company, CAAT (Combine AntiArmor Team) so now I get to do grunt shit, while having the responsibilities of an RO...and always in the motor pool because our vics are breaking down lmfao
Funny how life works...
RAHHHHHH BOOT
Thanks for the comment homie!
