You know you don't have to right?
@@emiliocarranza4352 yeah I know
Bro unless you hate yourself, don't enlist in the USMC. They are extremely mismanaged and underfunded. The only things they got going for them is that they have the best looking uniforms and Camp Pendleton.
I am 58 years old and went to Boot Camp in 1987 and I shared tears with these new Marines at the end of the video even today
was it different then than it is now?
One of my best memories was 3rd phase on the the Grinder watching a 'mob' being moved around by troop handlers. Life had changed.....Semper Fi!
You are born in 1966 an went to the camp at 21 years old

@@mybatteryisalmostdeadYes. The last time USMC boot camp was really tough was the early 2000s. The runs were longer and the quarterdeck sessions were longer. There was a recruit that drowned in 2008 and it got a lot easier after that.

Congratulations to your stepson, I stepped foot on the island on the 11th and saw a company graduate now I graduated today
My grandfather went through something similar. When he went in at 15, it was in 1939 as a Reservist. His unit got called up to fight in the Pacific during WW2. He was in for 16 years. During that time, he was a drill instructor and taught H2H combat to other recruits.

I was in United States Marine Corps Recruit Training in MCRD, San Diego, California 50 years ago.
I'm now 67 years and 8-months old, and I'll be 67 years and 9 months old next week. Yet, I am actually stronger today than when I was an active-duty United States Marine Corps 0331 M-60 Machine Gunner. Biologically aging hasn't made me weaker, but stronger.

@@milesbridges1858Back in 1978 I was in ur position. Joining the Marines was the best thing I ever did! One hell of an experience. You won’t ever feel what you will feel at graduation again in life. Made awesome friends, traveled half the world. It helped in the civilian world when I got out. The confidence never leaves you. Hey I'm 18 and graduating this year in May I'm doing ROTC next semester and then I'll be joining after HS
I still remember when the bus arrived at P.I. in 1981. A muscular DI stepped onto the doorway of the bus and yelled, "You've got about 30 seconds to get off my bus and get on the yellow footprints and 10 of them have already past." He was so imposing that few wanted to get close to him so somebody popped the emergency hatch at the back of the bus. One recruit was trying to climb out the side window. It was an array of total fear and confusion.

@GickelsGaming hello I read your comment! I yell all the time and in a house that is constantly yelling. I think I'm good with yelling but I do understand everything is serious. I will definitely take it into consideration 👍
Boot is easy. Just don’t think. Just do 😂 and scream. Just SCREAM.
100%. Boot camp is a vacation compared to the next to come.
My stepson just graduated yesterday at Parrish island. What an awesome experience
Bootcamp easy asf😂 dont stress yourself about it, become a squad leader or guide and have common sense, youre chillin
If you're up north, being a squad leader or guide isn't worth it. Unless you're an honor platoon.
Must be s soldier to say that or a future recruiter
Parris Island physically was very easy. I was the series high PT test recipient. Because I was an athlete, I lost some of my fitness and strength by the end of bootcamp. You train together so the pace and intensity is not the same as for an athlete. Mentally it isnt so easy. 24/7 being babysat, watched and the "games" (Rose Garden, Scuzzy 500 squad bay cleaning on your hands and knees, carrying the racks outside for cleaning) grinds on you mentally. I suspect the latest generation of recruits will suffer dearly from lack of internet access. I did not have that probem in the late 1980s.
@johnleclair663 MCRD San Diego, not an athlete. However, the physical part wasn't too bad. The quarterdecking and pit sessions because a recruit fell asleep in class wasn't fun. The worst part was the mental part and the chaos. I did kind of like the craziness at first. Until it got redundant really quick. This was last yr. It's still brutal and tough. Although it'll probably be the easiest or most fun of your usmc career
FACTS
Got to watch this years ago, first hand. Was a DoD civilian working at Parris Island. We were helping upgrade some computer systems and other minor things, when one of the sergeants (some kind of clerk I think) tasked with helping us, asked if we wanted to see something fun. His idea of fun was getting us down in our NWU's, watching as new boots arrived. All the while he kept a running commentary up about which of the boots he thought were going to make it, who was going to be trouble, and who got lost on the way to the Air Force. Those boots kept shooting glances at us. Four guys in navy camo, with tennis shoes on. I often wonder what the hell they thought of that.
I'm supposed to be going to boot in August. Oh boy, I can't wait.
Good luck brother
All the best to you.
Just don't take anything personal from Drill instructors. Don't let them learn your name or else you will be a target, blend in. Shave your head bald before you go in, saves you you from getting an instant headachey haircut. Get plenty of sleep before you go in. They will make you stay awake for a full 24 hours in the booking process. Be cleaned shaved. Bring very very few personal belongings. Get in shape before you go, you still have time. And remember that your DIs are people to. They probably play play station or something when they allowed time off.
me too brother see you there 🫡
You are doing a good thing. It's going to be difficult at the beginning but it gets easier towards the end. Don't take the insults personal . good luck to you.God bless America

I never served but I played basketball under an old drill saergent who instilled discipline that we all appreciated later. 8 plus years a Marine many years ago. Wouldn’t join today for all the money in the world. The new Corps is going thru many changes in mission, equipment and policies which are not focused on a warrior mentality or mission. The new Marines lost a combat comp to British Marines at 29 Palms ..their own playground and it wasn’t even close. They got rid of tanks which are necessary to support troops and are too focused on social justice. Listen to the Marine leaders in front of congress and it makes me sad that the Corps has changed so much.
I went through Navy boot camp in 1994 and we had to do that damn tear gas similar to the Corps. It SUCKED but it cleared my sinuses for like 3 months lol.

Hi I live in Germany. In former times as in nürnberg and fürth there were big army communities, i one day went in this area. I met a friend of me there. It was in fürth in bavaria. One building ad the four letters on the door: usmc
I asked somebody what is it. I wondered why it was here.
I joined the Airforce back in 2002. Our men and women of all the branches deserve our upmost respect. Especially these men and women in the video. Wish I could go back but I’m a year or two too old. Thanks to all our veterans and active military out there.
As an 18 year old I enter meps in 2 weeks. I grew up kinda messed up. My grandpa figure was a navy seal In nam. He treated me worse than the d.is in this video. I was told they would be meaner. It may just be for TH-cam to downplay for future marines however it doesn’t seem like hell enough. I know it will suck. But I don’t think it will be as bad as I thought.

If you're going in, don't be fooled by the ones that say you should be a squad leader or guide. Squad leader just puts you in a position to have to deal with your fellow platoon members bullshit for no reward. As for guide, I had about five different guides in bootcamp, so if you're gonna go for it you better be a fucking stud because the drill instructors will dismiss you from guide whenever they want.
