I’m a Canadian living in Canada and I sponsored my wife who is currently living outsude Canada. She is granted the family class visa which says will expire in 6 months. She will fly to Canada 3 months from now. So when she arrives in Canada, what if her visa expires before her first PR card arrives… what is the rule about that situation? If I move to another location before my wife lands in Canada, what should be done about changing the mailing address on the Permanent Residence Portal? My wife has already collected all the necessary papers from the visa office in her country. We plan for her to arrive in June while I will have moved out in May. If I change her mailing address, will there be any problems at the immigration desk at the airport? Will the system be updated with the new mailing address, or should she provide the old address from the original application?

@@HitSubmitCanada Hi Suyash Greetings, I received email of COPR from IRCC Montreal with the attachment PDF, this attachment has the following needed to fill-up, like Name, address, are your current in Canada, when do you land in Canada, Which Terminal you arrive in Canada, etc. Then all of this I send it already back to IRCC montreal, However I made a mistake that I did creating a portal for my PR for uploading of pictures and some information which not correct, According to my fellow PR friends already, you should wait to email you by IRCC the they are the who will give you the password to create an account for Portal. The PR Card will be delivered to the Canadian local address in 3 - 4 months. Can I leave Canada in a week without the PR card??? As my husband would be there to receive it... They will most likely ask for an address at airport to deliver PR card. see if you can try to give a friend's address in canada who can collect PR card on your behalf. You can always update your address later. But Airbnb might be risky
@@HitSubmitCanada I wasn't planning on giving the Airbnb address since I am there only for a month. I am going to let the IRCC officer know that I don't have a permanent address at the moment since I don't know anyone in Canada. I will be updating it later on using the address notification tool.

Hey @Suyash, I submitted my outland sponsorship on 28th February, AOR -1 on May 10, Biometrics previously done, Medical completed 13th June, Eligibility on 21st, my background check shows 'NOT STARTED' till date getting worried, as yours is already done could you share the status changes for Background check... It's been more than a month should I be worried... Any info is appreciated... Waiting for your response... 😊
my wife's background check status changed in one day after submitting finger prints. from in progress to 'completed'. but it varies from applicant to applicant. not something to be worried about i'd say. each application is processed different and a number of factors are at play at each stage for an applicant. hope you get it soon.

You dont have to wait for PR card. You can start the process using COPR

You don’t need to wait for PR card to get a job. SIN nb and COPR should work

They may ask about the current address to deliver the PR card. So just tell them what the current address is. they don't care why you moved.
