Proud to announce that my husband is approved and coming home with me to Canada, as I am with him in his country of Morocco, when he received his PR and visa. Process took 16 months, and he got approved on the same day he had an interview at the Canadian Embassy in Rabat, and he was issued his visa the next day. It is important to keep the "big picture" in mind when going through such a difficult phase and process. The phase of your long-distance relationship/marriage and the process of the paperwork. I try to be grateful that the timelines are still not so bad compared to other countries and this sponsorship experience is just a drop in the big wild ocean of life in which two people will live together. congratulations that was pretty fast, not even 1 year. Strange how the online website says that it can take 22 months but yours was only half a year. I'm hoping that the 22 months is just them giving a long time expectation just so that people dont start asking many questions as to why it hasnt finished yet. Although I think it was 12 months earlier on and now the new online applications should speed things up so Im not sure why it was increased. Either way you dont have any more waiting to do!

are you an outland applicant or an inland? if outland, then you don't download COPR, you get it delivered to you along with your stamped passport in the mail. you only download eCOPR if you are an inland applicant. you do that from the portal.

I submitted my wife's Sponsorship Application online on Mar.04, 2023, we received an email from IRCC on Mar.29, 2023 for her Medical Examination Report in Vietnam ie: IMM 1017E- Medical Report Client Biodata and Summary. My wife and I were very surprised to receive the email from IRCC just after we submitted her Sponsorship Application online less than 1 month. They didn't request for my wife's Biometric report yet. Is it normal or new procedures ? Please advise. Thank you ! > James
@Spartacus 007 These requests can come at random. Biometrics will come too. Sometimes they don’t follow a strict sequence. Anyway, Its a good sign. Application is moving forward. Continue to wait. and keep responding to their requests at each stage. Standard processing timeline is within 1 year(from submitting the application to receiving ppr/portal invite)
