It has been reported by somebody who owns a Sonos orc ultra is that there’s hardly any difference other than it’s louder! So I’m going to keep my original Sonos art!👍
I have both the Arc and Arc Ultra. There is a noticeable bump in dialogue with the Ultra. The sound quality improves with each as you add sub(s) and surround. The sound differences between them also really start to narrow as you add sub(s) and surrounds (I have dual subs and Fives). You will probably hear a bigger difference if you only have a stand alone Arc to stand alone Arc Ultra upgrade. The Arc Ultra would be good choice if you have low dialogue issues with your TV or you want to add brand new or upgrade from a Beam/Ray (no issues with dialogue with my LG OLEDs).
I am still on an old Sonos playbar. Im glad I waited and didnt go for the Arc right away. Seems like they cut the life cycle to my benefit. I will be getting an Arc ultra when it releases and move my old playbar to another room.. Thanks for the video. Finally looking forward to having Bluetooth..
Based on listing and features at least on paper ultra sounds better. However, both Arc says ‘you can hear quiet sounds’ and ultra says ‘you can hear whispers’ to me they are both the same just packaged differently. Will be interesting when the 1st reviews start flooding in.
Hi I am thinking of getting into the Sonos eco system lookin for a home theater system i have a couple thoughts ULTRA ARC + GEN 4 SUB + ERA 100 or ULTRA ARC + GEN 4 SUB + ERA 300 or just the new ARC ULTRA with the ERA 100's with No sub ( not a bass head ) would i be happy with either one or is one much better than the other ? and why love your videos they are so well done I am hoping you show a set up for these systems for i am not very technical lol thx for your time i look forward to your advice cheers from Canada

I can live without the rear speakers but cant live without my sub. According to sonos website here is the best set up if you want: 5.1.4 Arc + Pair of Ones (or 2x Five, 2x Ikea SYMFONISK) + Sub 7.1.4 Arc + Pair of Era 300s or 100s + Sub Remember the ultra can go up to 9.1.4. Also think about the size of your room! You can get enough though the era 100s.

If you have an ARCwirh the ERA 300s, it’s worth the upgrade. The current Arc’s spatial abilities just don’t match the 300s. If you are not that critical and already have Sonos 1s or ERA 100s with an Arc, then a Sub mini might be the most impactful upgrade. Those who are willing to spend $900 on era 300s as surrounds fit the customer profile that would upgrade
Hi ..Bro ... I have watched many videos of sonos arc ultra in a day or two but none of the videos mention 4k dolby vision so I assume video passthrough in port is not possible if I am not forgetting.
Sorry for not being clearer! In the tech spec i believe there is only one mention of HDMI earc. Remember its only the sound that passes through so there is no 4k pass through on current one. If u have ps5 then console connects to TV and sound out connects to sonos. Unfortunately the ultra looks to be the same.
Hopefully ur overhead channels will improve in similar ways that the ERA 300’s truly augmented the 360 . The soundstage is way too narrow on the arc. If those two areas are addressed here, I’ll would be a true leap forward .
I would bet the Arc v2 bass module will provide a richer and deeper bass you can hear if you compare it to the old v1 Arc (if you have the Arc only). The separate sub will provide bass you can "hear and feel" because it can reach lower frequencies and move more air. The Beam or v1 Arc + sub will divide up the bass frequencies and move to the sub. I would want to see if v2 Arc+sub(s) does the same and reduces/turns off the v2 Arc bass module (similar to the Era 300 turning off the center speaker in rear surround sound duties).

glad i waited with my sonos playbase. as soon as the arc ultra will get a discount / acceptable price, i guess it's time for an upgrade.
I think ultra should have released at same price point. Looking at what happened to Ace a price drop could happen soon depending on sales.

Agree! Arc’s soundstage is too narrow which is why i felt the trueplay never works in my living room.

Arc Ultra have a Sub included (50H). May be a normal User don‘t have to buy a additional Sub.
