Lyrics:
Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o'er evil a victory win?
There's wonderful power in the blood
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
Hear me speak what's on my mind
Let me give this testimony
To reaffirm that you will find
That you are my one and only
No exception to this rule
I'm simple but I'm no fool
I've got a witness happy to say
Every hour, every day
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
My red blood runs true blue
And every heartbeat belongs to you
Classic case of boy meets girl
Moving in the same direction
You're not asking for the world
I'm not asking for perfection
Just a love that's well designed
For passing the test of time
I'm here to tell you
I'm here to stay
Every hour, every day
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's true
Every heartbeat belongs to you
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
My red blood runs true blue
And every heartbeat belongs to you
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Yeah, sure maybe I'm on the edge
But I love you baby and like I said
I'm here to tell you
I'm here to stay
Every hour, every day
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's true
Every heartbeat belongs to you
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim, yeah
My red blood runs true blue
And every heartbeat belongs to you
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
And every heartbeat belongs to you
Every heartbeat bears your name
Loud and clear they stake my claim
Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's true
Every heartbeat belongs to you

OMG. I forgot how much I love his frickin' song. 39 y/o man and ain't ashamed to say it!
you should be.......
Says the guy also watching this video
40 year old guy and I do as well 👍
53yo here and still love it 😊
45 here lol
I feel so bad for the kids today that didn't have a chance to grow up during these great times with such great music.
Same!!!
I am almost 40 and thank God everyday for being a child of the 80s and 90s. I am class of 2000. Amazing times. A completely different America full of optimism and joy.
@@flightofthebumblebee9529 same !!
Don't feel bad. They have Cardi B and Taylor Swift. Empowering fight music.
@@nickfishing they meant this song being flashy and trendy compared to what's out today. I remember this song being out at the time and it was just a fun song to listen to.
It was a comparison statement between then and now because it's some trendy, fight song anthem, or some headache like Lizzo or Cardi B. The idea of those two existing back then would've been laughable. Now it seems like they're taking all the things you joked about with your friends when you were younger to imagine and making it a reality.
I got what they meant by it. Actually it was pretty clear what they said. Didn't know it was that easy to misinterpret what they sakd lol
My 3rd grade teacher used to play this album in class all the time during free time. I remarked that I liked it and she bought me the cassette as a gift ❤
😮😊
haha that is a sweet story 🙂
1991 was a great year for Amy Grant and Music.
Cheers to better days.
The River Hudson and when music was good and great fun videos
Yea the laundromat hadn't become Mexico yet lol
herd this when it firs came out summer break going into grade eleven
Scott Anderson Miss Spelled firs to first is correct spelling
Cheers
For awhile in the early 90's Amy Grant was the cutest thing on earth for me..//
disconnected22 she is.nice song bit that blue shirt is huge for her
Still is
Absolutely gorgeous
Ditto
...i was so glad to se her SMILE after Stay For Awhile in the mid 80s!!!
(Other than my mom) My dad said he wanted to marry Amy Grant & Stevie Nicks!
Blessed to have grown up in this era of great talented musicians and timeless hits. Here's to the 80s and 90s.
Same here!! 80s & 90s music is the best!!! I agree completely 👍😁
Here's to getting to having a conversation with Ammie we were the same agee
Hate to tell you this but Aimee is 😂😊a 70s girl.😅 as is most of the best!
@@itsmylife842 80's n 90's is literally the start of trash music
It's amazing how much pop music has gone down hill.
Amy Grant is so beautiful
Amen, she's finer than frog hair!
okay what were u thinking when u were writing this comment.
She's a parking ticket, cause she got 'fine' written all over her
@Anton.... fuck off, roach
Matthew Three Three that's actually pretty funny because she is from Nashville
I haven't heard this song since around 1992! I don't know why radio stations would stop playing a gem like this one!
I remember it from when I was a little kid. But actually every once in a while I do still hear it on the radio.
*+ASVPEves* You might just not be listening to the right stations...
Cause unlike Madonna...Amy Grant actually REFUSED to use SEX to sell her music in ANY forum... Amy stayed CLASSY...Madonna was TRASHY... strange that Madonna REFUSED to allow her daughter to watch MTV... when it was people like Madonna which transform MTV into TRASH...
The modern media are TRASHY...Amy Grant always was CLASSY... that's why they play Madonna's music...birds of a feather flock together...
Go into a grocery store or pharmacy I'm sure you'll hear this over the radio or any similar song.
I love the polka dot dress! She's adorable!
yes!
Me too... I adore polka dots...
Same here.
That cauct my eye, love polka dots
yes
My grandma passed away a few days ago. I'm here for the nostalgia. We loved Amy when I was growing up.
I haven't heard this song in years. I love it. ❤️
They play it in every super market, Walmart, target nonstop all day long.
@AmyGrant-kv8ii you're welcome, Amy
1991 tune.
Thank God for TH-cam, we get to watch and listen to this gem by Amy, and several others to! What a time growing up and so many fond memories. Who is still watching this in 2020!!??
I am...actually it's the first time I'm seeing it. We didn't have cable but my brother had this cassette tape, and got me one too. I used to listen to Heart in Motion everytime Mom and Dad took me somewhere. I'd put it in my walkman and study the insert in the cassette case. My friend recently went through a divorce and is listening to a lot of Amy Grant right now. It got me to look up this album and I like it more now than I did 30 some years ago. We love you Amy!
She is the best
Still listen to her even today
I love you’re comment and it makes me feel grateful. You’re right, she is such a gem.
& in April 2021, Too !!! 💓❣️💙😃😄👍!!!
I don't care what generation you're from. You can't deny, there is something magical about this song.
My 1st dance with my soulmate aged 50
Lest we met
Awww! Takes me back 25 years! I was 16 in 1991/92 & the songs from 'Heart in Motion' were all over the radio back then. I still have the VHS tape to the videos from this album. Pure classic pop album!
Heartboy1031 I love Amy Grant also and this music video brings back great memories
I was in my first years of college, had just graduated from high school. I was 18/19 years old. I loved all of her "Heart In Motion" songs. I had the album and played it to death!!
I was 14 years old and in 8th grade. Man, I miss those days. Back when life was simple & music was great.
I was 15. I feel exactly the same!!
I wad 14 in 92. I too remember several songs from this album all over the raideo. This was her break through album to mainstream from just Christian music. She has slowed down in popularity in recent years but still is a great artist. Wish she would go back to putting albums out on a consistant schedule.
I used to sing this song when I was 12! 😅 26 years later and I still love this! ❤
29 years later*
This is one of her best albums. When it came out, I played this CD everyday…
She is re releasing Behind These Eyes 25th anniversary edition of the album on both 3 vinyl and double CD
I know! It came out when I lived in Israel and it was my soundtrack! :). Good times.. good times.
I cant listen to her song I Will Remember You though. That song makes me cry
Summer 1991 Baby!!
1998
Yep this is definitely the early 90's. It's obvious with this feel good sound that I just love and miss.
Yup summer of 91 my favorite summer as a teen!
@Smiley L smh. This is from 1991
@Smiley L Well honestly, I could have left out the "smh" so I apologize for that. Other than that I'm just correcting your comment because it aggravated me that people are trying to "correct" the original poster's already correct statement.
This song is one of the most catchy. The bass line and drums during the chorus are on point
I agree. Unfortunately, they really messed up the bass line in the chorus when the “remix” came out later: I got this album from Apple Music and was very disappointed when I heard what they did to this song. Thankfully, we still have the original version here on TH-cam!
2O24 anyone here for the beautiful *Amy?*
This song is the definition of *nostalgia.*
April 29th 2024 RIGHT HERE I LOVE THIS SONG ❤️♥️
June 12, 2024 listening to this song. It is nice indeed!
The editor of this video really deserves it all. Considering how BUSY it is from set design to storytelling to costumes, it remains extremely cohesive without feeling messy or overwhelming. Plus, it's just a really fun video. And Amy certainly deserves all the kudos for not being afraid to be weird and off beat in her one truly no apologies, bubblegum pop album with these music videos..
In my early twenties when this song was released. When hanging with my friends I could never listen to this: A macho guy thing I guess. Anytime this song came on and I was alone : I listened to it in its entirety. I freaking dig this song.
I loved this song when I was a kid.
Yea. Me Too.
What about now?
Agreed
I still love it, but particularly the original!
Happier times Happier better world back then. Love Amy!
Summer of 1991. memories
It was a very good year.
Ian Francis Yes indeed it was. I was 19 and the future looked so bright!
Yeh, looked...
Sonny tbone I eas only 2. A few months before my bro was born.
:-)
I keep playing the very beginning of this song over and over again because I love the way she sings the word "testimony."
Same
One of the best songs of human history.. Period!
You clearly have not listened to much... if any... music to make that claim
ya he has goo
Lol stop it
you're not asking for the world; I'm not asking for perfection
30 years later an it's still my all time favorite song
Aimee was a 70s gal like all of the REALLY GREATS!
GREATEST BLUE SMOCK IN MUSIC VIDEO HISTORY
1:50
Wardrobe Manager: Amy all we have is this XXXXXXXXXXL Blue Top, its gonna have to do
Lmaaooo!!! So true🤪😁😎😂😅
XD
I'm a Wardrobe Stylist next time employ me
Man im feeling very nostalgic right now, this music is bringing some memories back 😍😍😍
I'm 46 and I still love this song!!!
same, at...62.
I don't care how you feel about her Christian Pop roots, this song is legit!
+TheReivenlocke It is one of my faves! Amy was/is great. Reminds me so much of my childhood Good clean music. . js Take care
+TheReivenlocke Agreed. I don't really care much for Christian Pop, nor have I even listened to an entire Amy Grant album, but I have always liked this song. Has a nice, catchy beat, a perfect song for the radio.
+TheReivenlocke Agree, she didn't do well in her other videos. She didn't get the best to producers,etc... to do her work. That's a shame and she should have done much better in her career.
+Dawn Bringer Yes, so do I! Her problem, I think, is/was she wasn't sexy enough. She was too nice and pure for the slim-balls in Hollywood and the music industry. I think she still should have done much better. I really like Amy Grant and still like her videos.
Exactly. I remember hearing this song on the radio when I was little (about five years old, and I'm almost thirty). You could never make a pop music video this clean cut today and expect it to become a hit.
I'm glad I was brought up with songs like these during my high school days, very memorable..love this song and brings back great memories
O my gosh same here!! Was in middle sch5when this came out I think
I remember this video when I was 16 years of age. Amy Grant deserves a big hug and a praise for that video.
Its so upbeat and puts a smile on my face for sure.
@Amy Grant since I was a teenager
This song is a feel good song
Your quite welcome Amy.@AmyGrant-kv8ii
Remember this song playing on the radio when I was a kid. Those days were great!
If you have SiriusXM, they do play this song on The Blend
It was a very big song for Amy... Hit #2 on the Billboard charts, overshadowed only by Baby Baby, in fact, which was her #1 hit.
This track finished 1991 as the #28 song on the Billboard year end chart while Baby Baby was #10 on the Billboard year end chart. Not too bad to have two songs in the top 40 in the year end chart.
Amy Grant STILL rocks it, Oh, and also: she is still frikkin' GORGEOUS.
This was a magical time for music. This song would come on the radio and the video would come on t.v people loved it. She is so likeable and a great singer. Suddenly in the past 20 years music has taken a strange direction.
The best song ever 👍 and I was in love with the guy who was doing laundry 😁 gorgeous boy ❤️😍😘
This makes me so happy. I miss my mother. I miss our drives. I miss the 90s
is she no longer with us
I haven't heard this since about 1992, but as soon as I heard the chorus I recognised it as if it was yesterday. Amy Grant was quite popular here in the UK in the early 1990s.
Bring back the clean stuff! Love it!
Miley Cyrus and Beyonce would have their heads explode if they tried to do any clean stuff.
Meanwhile she left her husband for Vince Gill
I.Cant.Get.Enough..Of.This.
Video..I . Love.This...1991.
❤️💞💖❤️💖💖❤️❤️
A beautifully written, produced, and performed song. So lucky I was around during this era of musical greatness!
I was like 9 or 10 when this came out and remember liking it and it being popular with my elementary classmates or whatever. I think we even sang it in some program for Valentine's Day or some shit 😂😂😂. Funny how music is able to impact you and form memories
Yes the song is a catchy tune and Amy Grant is a lovely singer and very pretty but can we please talk about these two fine male specimens in this video! Damn!
This song brings back so many memories from the 90's. Amy Grant did her thing with this whole album.
Non-Christian guy here. Love some Amy Grant pop though. My favorite would have to be either Good For Me or Whatever It Takes

Who gives a fuck?
You can't spell.
+james sutcliffe why did you replied?
Thank you House M.D for reminding me of this song. Cheesy 90's music for the win. It makes me happy.
Why Dr. house?
It was played on an episode as I recall, the one where he marries a Eastern European gal so she can get citizenship.
*+The Exile* Are we talking about Doogie Howser MD here - I have all the episodes and I don't know of this happening...
"Man of the house", at the end, when Taub and House are talking, it starts playing, and continues after when Dominika is dancing
I came here to say this in 2021 after finishing a rewatch of HOUSE
Wow! Time Flys. ⌚ This song never gets old, dull or boring. Rock on Amy!
Amy Grants songs helped me in my life in the 80s as a teen. Her Christian albums and her Unguarded album which r still my favorites. In the 90s....her songs about love encouraged me that love wasn't about sex.....her music continues to make me feel understood, nostalgic, happy, cheerful, closer to God and etc...Thank u God for Amy Grant ...Shes pretty too.
This song is a reminder back to the best days of my life. Thank you for the memories xxx
Ahhh, the 90s... when music could be both meaningful, and cute. even as a brother, even I got to admit, hearing this anytime has me tapping my feat.
this was world number 1! with no nudity, no sexism, no sex lyrics and no tongue licking
Your description of the workd you want sounds dreadfully boring.
I am a 25 yr old man who found this song and many others of Amy grant and absolutely loving her. Her music has so much joy in, this song especially its a pop song with so much joy. Unlike a lot of pop songs of any era.
We need more artists like Amy grant today. She’s also got a natural beauty that radiates through her film clips, interviews etc.
I am so glad God is using her in this way. Such a blessing.
What a career Amy Grant has had. Some of the catchiest and most beautiful songs ever recorded. Amazing Talent
2023 I use to listen to this before school.
Reminds me of my childhood.
I love this song!! It brings back to when I was in my 20's
I gotta say love Amy Grant she was amazing back then and still to this day still amazing!
A truly-terrific song, and I love how Amy unexpectedly throws in the lyric, "Ask anyone and they'll tell you it's true."
That's a cool piece of trivia, I hadn't heard.
Unbelievable, I didn't hear this song since so many years but I love it like the fist time. And this guy in the laundry also❤️😍
This is actually one of the best "LA" videos I've seen. I congratulate Amy Grant. I remember this when I was baby-sitting, literally. But she was very good. At absolutes. Teen girls liked then, young ladies.
This song is my first memory as a young child. After decades I’ve found it!!!!
Hello how are you,i hope your okay?
The lyrics, the music, the costumes, the set decoration (including the dalmatian pup!!🥰), the art direction, the masterFUL editing + the OUTstanding overALL direction & production on this video!! = The inimitable singular vision & talent of the Icon & Legend, herself, Ms. Amy Grant!!! 🥰❤️👍💐💯% artistic GENIUS!!!
Did somebody just mention VCR and cassettes? Dang we're getting old !
i can vividly remember every saturday at 130pm, i stay glued on our tv and waited for VH1 and patiently waits for any of AMY GRANT's song videos so that i can record it on betamax and watch those mtv's over and over again whenever i want to!!those were the AWESSOOMMEE days!!😄😄😄😄😄😄
They made VCRs until like 2007, even Gen Z grew up with those! Cassettes are even coming back into style lol
Yes!
Amy’s smile breath taking
one of my fav singer...
Everything about this song, is positive energy. Had it on replay for the last few hours.
Isn’t it …. Beats all those songs about depression they have going on now
1:38 one of the best hooks I've heard so fire and clean heard this n the sotrr
its hard to beleive that at one time the radio was ruled by this gracious young beauty
This has to be the most 80s-sounding 90s song and video ever. I love it
It was 1991 so the 80s Culture and Music Style hadn't died yet. 80s Fashion lasted until 1993
An episode of Dr House reminded me of how awesome this song is... what a wonderful, happy, cheerful and delightful song!
Wow I was little when this came out but I remember rocking out to this and just dancing and enjoying a carefree childhood. Wow good times
This Song breathes the 90`s❤
1990s pop classic!
This is her best album. It has 4 great songs and I can listen to them all the time.
@AmyGrant-kv8ii I love you me.
Growing up in the 80’s I would hang out at my friend’s house which was two sisters, and they would play this CD album alot of times and it actually totally got me hooked. This was one of the few female artists I enjoyed listening to. She still looks great and is still talented to this day.
Who Loves Listening In April 2 2024?
April 18, 2024
May 29, 2024 now!!!
What a voice!
This tune from the hot Summer of 1991, brings back a lot of awesome memories. My first job from Summer School. Meeting interesting people . Even the mood changed. I was just 20. Also now that I'm following Christ, this song could be a love relationship or giving your heart to Christ and following him.
Terrific chorus & hook!
Huge crush in high school.
Greatings from Poland 😗😍
I miss music like this, it was good, simple, fun & feel good memories ❤😊
I had the best years of my life listening to Amy. We were all blessed to live when her music was poppin
Ahhh the 90s!!! I used to have a crush on this girl Erin when we were kids and we always played it around each other lol my god how your mind remembers these types of things! Still a great song!
Of all Amy Grant's videos I love this one the most!!! So playful and fun!!! Love the Dalmatian, polka dot dress, hat and umbrella!!!
I was in the 4th grade when this song came out. She was everywhere. She's as genuine today as she was in 1991.
Woah. Memories unlocked
She's Amazing I LOVE HER!
I still have my cassette tape! I'll always love this song!
Gosh - haven’t heard this song since the days it came out…
Loved that concert in the barn... Beautiful.
This album was one of the true great remnants of the 80s as the 90s were beginning. Within a year or two you wouldn’t hear anything like this as R&B, grunge and rap fully took over. I love it and have very fond memories from childhood. Hot summer days, going in the pool, having a popsicle when I went inside while I watched these music videos on TV.
Wow so true…rap really did took over. Personally, I don’t listen to music stations in so long. Don’t like anything new
Love this song
Still love the 80's music. So pure and amazing unaltered voices. And no scandels
I was 20 then, the world seemed less complicated then and had great music
Man i miss the good ole days of music videos on vh1 after school.1992
yeah me too
