The whole 22 minutes of Queens performance is iconic at LiveAid, Freddie Mercury had the crowd of 72,000 in the palm of his hand, the bands legendary flamboyant performance is phenomenal and considered to be the best performance of a band and Queen stole the show from any other artist who performed at LiveAid,I actually attended LiveAid, also I attended Queen at Wembley stadium twice in 1986, and at Knebworth Park in 1986,Knebworth was Freddie’s very last live performance with his band, crowd at Knebworth estimated to be 140,000 people,I saw you at Angelina’s concert in LA on the 20th what a fabulous night, great reaction thanks 🙏
This is the classic version of a rock band as you can imagine. Charismatic lead singer, genius on lead guitar, one of the best drummers, and a very decent guitar bass. And let's not forget the people who organized, provided all the technical part and excellent sound of the music. There's nothing like it in our time, not even close.
White Queen at the Hammersmith Odeon, and March of the Back Queen are 2early ones you could listen to..... or even some other songs from Montreal 1981. eg Somebody to Love, Dragon attack, Love of my Life
Great charisma, his voice was beyond any doubt, his personality on stage, his connection with the audience, .... I guess you'll know this story, but just in case I'm telling you. He was very excited to sing at the Opening Ceremony of the 1992 Barcelona Olympic games, but he knew he wasn't going to get it 😔. He composed "Barcelona", an amazing song, for those Olympic Games and was going to sing it along with Mrs. Caballé, a Spanish great soprano. It was a shame that he passed away so young 😔. Have a nice rest of the week, Nina 👋👋
Watching this Live Aid set reminds us how great Freddie was and how great the whole band was. I was never a huge Queen fan but these 20+ minutes were possibly the best live 20+ minutes ever.
Would love to see you react to Chappell Roan performing Hot To Go live. She recently spoke about how watching Queen perform Radio GaGa at live aid really inspired her to create some way for her audience to engage with her during shows and so far it’s the only time I’ve witnessed something in this modern era that captures what Freddie did on this day.
freddy was dying of aids at the time he performed and even U2 did not want to go on after this epic performance by one of the greatest showman ever. may freddy rest in peace. There is no music like this anymore. very sad but this was a great time the 1980s
Hey Nina, I saw Queen (front row) on the Day at the Races Tour (yes, I’m old lol). Freddie was one of the great front men of all time! Great analysis as usual!!!
Now watch the full Live Aid set of some 22 minutes. Charity concert at Wembley Stadium UK twinned with a concert in Philadelphia USA. You won't regret it in the slightest. Queen 👑 walked away victorious! They stole the show! Freddie had the audience in one hand and the microphone in the other hand! th-cam.com/video/ngf1KF2_kPI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=kkQDOVGOBcnhCwZs When you watch the set, you will know who Queen is.
Always really enjoy your analysis of performances. I don't know if you have reacted to any Marc Martel - he's a Canadian singer that has an incredibly vocal likeness to Freddie. He has a number of TH-cam recordings with various Queen tracks (Bohemian Rhapsody, Who Wants to Live Forever, You Take My Breath Away, etc) and he also has recorded a version of Nessun Dorma where he sings in two parts 1 as Pavarotti, and 1 as Freddie - he calls it ' The Mercurotti ' and i think you'd be tickled to check it out :)
Hi Nina, I've just discovered your channel and I've subscribed :) it's great you've reacted to this song/segment of whats is widely regarded as Queen's most iconic performance! Please react to the whole 22 minute. 6 song set from their Live Aid '85 show :) it was the performance of a lifetime. Freddie had a throat infection that day, but it didnt stop him being the GOAT!
You are so right, but a lot of that was just Queen and their attention to detail is just brilliant - especially Freddie. Of course during this version of Radio Gaga. But another great example is when they did Under Pressure live with David Bowie and it's the little bits that most people think of as of no consequence that Freddie adds that really makes the song. Freddie Mercury was a musical genius.
Queen nearly turned down this performance but in the end they acquiesced and this was the highlight of their career to that point. Elton John was going to perform a few acts after them....he "stormed" into their dressing room and jokingly exclaimed "you bastards, you stole the show!"
Others have said it here but you really HAVE to watch the whole show, there will never be anything like it again. Good reaction, I'll for sure watch others if you do them, one recommendation if you do Queen or Freddie do the live versions. And one warning, "These Are the Days of Our Lives' , Freddie's last video, you have to approach cautiously, for me it was very triggering but I think if you're a Queen fan you'll have to watch it eventually, also "Love me like there's no Tomorrow" just be ready....have a good day!
Hello Nina just came across your video love your reaction to this. One of my favourite Queen songs and to quote Freddie "Not bad for 4 ageing Queens". You should check out the video for Somebody to Love Live from Montreal and the music video for I Want to Break Free. I wanted to ask you said in the video your a session musician just wondered who you have worked with. Hope you have a great weekend..
One great performance is Marc Martel's piano/vocal cover of "Bohemian Rhapsody". He sounds so much like Freddie that they used his voice in parts of the movie.
iconic. hmm... that must be a new word that means anything you want it to mean... iconic....iconic...say it again.... iconic...Excuse me while I iconic my iconic.
I loved your reaction….i just subscribed. Please continue to react to Queen. Have you ever reacted to Somebody To Love ….the studio version is great ….but the live versions are even better and quite different from the original. Try live at Montreal 1981 or live in Milton Keynes 1982, both are fantastic. Live versions of any of their songs are almost always better than the studio releases. Thank you.
up until Queen, all the previous acts were playing new songs from their upcoming albums leaving the audience with nothing to sing and party with. Queen changed all that and chose some of their most famous and best selling songs (except for the elvis presley one). david bowie was so pissed off coz he's the next one up giving birth to an awesome collaboration with queen - 'under pressure' because he was, well, under pressure 😂
Hi @mp33p0, just so you know, they didn't sing an Elvis song. "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" was written by Freddie as a tribute to Elvis and was released a couple of years after Elvis had passed away. Also, "Under Pressure" was written by the Queen members and David Bowie and was released a few years before this concert. I am not trying to be a smart-arse here btw, just giving you some info that's all. Much love from the UK
Not exactly. There were many acts who went on before Queen like Status Quo, The Style Council , Nik Kershaw, Spandau Ballet, The Boomtown Rats, Ultravox, Paul Young, Dire Straights, Sade, Sting, Phil Collins who played well known songs that the crowd sang along too
It would be very interesting to hear Nina's opinion of Agnetha Åse Fältskog's vocals from the band ABBA.For example: th-cam.com/video/Vl7u4WwVmUo/w-d-xo.html You can see from reviews of female vocalists that her vocal data is very average, but there are few places in the world that don't know ABBA.
@@kimd.9070 I have ! - love the music, but it does not come even close tho what Aurora writes . Dont get me wrong, I ove Freddie Mercurys - and Queen s music ( but not CRazy litke thing caled Love... I hate it !/ to much Elvis". Auroas lyrics are poetry in a very high qualtity ( I have studie FM and Queen fore a couple of years - and have heard about everything they made). But your reactions are great ! So Thank you! Best from Bergen, Norway
The "birth" of Lady Gaga's name! She took her name from this!
R u really
If you haven't seen this full show which is something like 25-30 minutes then it is a must !!!

His voice range and command was superb. Great song by the World's best stage presence frontman

We need more music like this in the world today
NINA I NEED YOU TO REACT TO CHRISTINA AGUILERA’S 25TH ANNIVERSARY LIVE PERFORMANCE😭😭😭😭😭
Queen nearly turned down this performance but in the end they acquiesced and this was the highlight of their career to that point. Elton John was going to perform a few acts after them....he "stormed" into their dressing room and jokingly exclaimed "you bastards, you stole the show!"
Freddie was advised not to sing due to a bad throat infection. He later stated singing here was like gargling with glass.
damn this is a note by note breakdown wat da! you werent lying about in depth
Best performance by anyband anywhere ever
Check it out too Somebody to love, live in Montreal 1981.
Big time Musicians , pure raw talent !!!! no extras needed. Freedie had a throat infection and his Dr advised him not to perform.
Freddie Mercury GOAT

You should hear his call and response right after this song. He hit a long note that is now referred to as the note heard around the world.
