Good question! You don't need to count calories, when you order your kit, you'll receive an insert telling you what to eat the first week and then second week and beyond.
It tells you in the pamphlet that you get around 1000 calories a day, and that anything between 950-1050 a day is fine. The meals are all less than 300 calories, and then you also suplement with 4 servings of veggies and some other stuff they tell you about if you buy it as well.
