Tonya, this video was SO helpful, I am 56 but retired early from being a veterinary technician due to burnout and compassion fatigue. Similar to PTSD. Now as a stay at home wife I struggle at times to find meaning and purpose for my life. I also want to dive deeper into my spiritual life as a devout Christian woman. This video gave me so much inspiration to make my own personal mission statement for this chapter of my life. So, YOU ARE AN INSPIRATION! Thanks again and have a blessed day. ❤️

Hello my friend! That’s interesting. I wanted to be in the veterinary field at one time. I love animals but ended up being an accountant. 🙃 Anyway, 56 is still young! Thank YOU for inspiring me. Have a great day.

Tonya, I even love you more after seeing today's video. I have a 26 year old daughter with whom I do have some struggles to maintain a happy healthy relationship as well. For a different reason than yours, but the same sort of struggles as a mother. I pray that things will get better for you and your son soon, as well as for me and my daughter!!

Oh good. I'm not the only mother going through this! Thank you for saying that. It was hard opening up about my struggles for the whole world to see! 🗺 I hope things continue to get better with your daughter. Have a great day.

Oh Sherry, I hear you. I too am having a challenging time w/ my son who is so close in age to your daughter and Tanya’s son. I loved being in my late 20s, so sometimes it’s hard seeing these problems happen. I’ll too keep you and Tanya in my prayers. 💕

@@myxochi It's so nice to be able to share our honest experiences like this. It seems there are incredible amount of social stigma attached to mothers who cannot be successful in parenting at all times. I have no question that we love our kids, but.... We'll just have to keep trying, hoping, loving and praying!!

This was so well done, Tanya, and such a help for those like me who’s eyes glazed over at the thought of writing a mission statement. You’ve helped clarify the process and have actually “inspired” me to get started on this. I’m so grateful for the time you’ve taken to put together these videos. You, your son & all your family will be in my prayers. Take care.

Actually been working on my personal mission statement this past week. Using both the Habit 2 intructions from "7 Habits" and the values/mission pages from the starter pack. It is taking me quite a while as I probably should have done this 40-50 years ago. 64 now and feeling regret that I certainly would have been better off having done this when I first purchase "7 Habits". Oh well, better late than never. Will be interesting to see what I am able to accomplish in the next 20 years. Thanks!!!

Tonya, Thank you for this video. I have read Steven Covey's book twice, had a relative discuss how to plan and a boss who taught these concepts. I just finished listening to the 7 Habits audio so I am ready to write my mission statement. Like the people below, I didn't know where to start. I made a list of what I am good at and what I am poorly managing. The lists were enough, this video helped so much. I thought it was one comprehensive sentence!

Tonya, I have been binge watching your videos, they are all so good. This one takes the cake. Being vulnerable is a superpower and you definitely have it. Thanks for sharing such a personal viewpoint. It inspired me to write my own personal mission statement. I ordered your imperfect Victoria binder and it is beautiful. I am thinking of getting the blooms pages and starter pack to go with it. With the right tools I should be very productive in 2023😊

I wish Franklin Covey would create the starter packs in more colors than just the neutral and Blooms designs. It'd be a dream to be able to get the pack in Monticello.

Hi Kyle! The regular starter pack has colors similar to the Monticello but does not have the marble design. It matches the Monticello. Thanks for watching. 🙂

Hey Tonya, you and I are on the same wave. Sometime I think we are twins from different Moms. Yesterday I received in the mail my brand new pocket planner for the rest of the year and next year, as well as my lovely binder (I have the Libby with my nameplate on the front - it looks fab-u-lous!), and my starter kit. I spent time yesterday going through my starter kit and decided on my own personal mission statement.
I had done this with 2 other sizes of planners I had in the past, but I’m starting a new direction for my professional life. Going through this exercise now was so enlightening to see where I am moving in this next chapter of my life.
Be well Tanya. I too am having a challenge with my 27 year old son. Your sharing made me feel stronger knowing others too are working toward a better life for the one we love!! I’m sorry about your recent loss and your husband’s struggles. You are such a strong rock for everyone (including me). Thank you. 💕

Hi Wendy! Thank you for the encouraging words. Us mothers need to stick together! I bet the Libby in the pocket size is a real cutie. I want to try the pocket size one day. I may be traveling out of town for a funeral and it would be nice to have a smaller planner to make traveling light. Good luck with your 27 year old and have a great day my friend.

I've written a personal mission statement just twice in my life. The first one was while I was in college, and the second time was about a year after I got married. I feel like they really helped me focus on what's most important! This video was right on time as I'll have plenty of time to work on my personal msn stmt at the airport tomorrow! Thanks for the awesome vid!
Sidenote, praying for all barriers between you and your son to be removed so that communication, reconciliation, and restoration can take place, in Jesus' Name! 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾

This is really helpful. I had a Stephen Covey course many years ago, when I was in college as part of the curriculum. So I did write a mission statement. Wish I had saved it. It would be interesting to see what has changed about my values and goals.

Thank you for another great video. Writing a mission statement has always been a challenge, although I have taken a shot at it. It helps so much to see examples as I also have “analysis paralysis” therefore can’t seem to capture compelling statements. I tend to want to get too granular, and that feels more like goal-setting and not an overall mission statement. I appreciate your example and your candor. (God bless you and your family as you work to strengthen those relationships.) The other part of this is to use it to review and renew, and keep us on course. How often is it suggested we review or refer to our mission statements? I’m off to watch your goal setting video, and then compass card video. Thanks for all the inspiration you are!

Hi, I hope you improve the relasionship with your son! In this regard I strongly recommend you to have a Family Constellations session, it works miracles! ❤

    • @TonyaPlans
      @TonyaPlans  หลายเดือนก่อน

Hey! I actually tried that already, and everything’s good now-we worked it all out after this video was recorded! My son grew up a lot after becoming a parent. I could have left that part out of the video, but I included it because so many people talk about writing personal mission statements without giving real-life examples or addressing real challenges.
I think it’s helpful to pull back the curtain and show that we all face problems-some similar, some different. At the time I made this video, no one was really talking about those struggles in the context of personal mission statements. I hope sharing my experience helped someone out there!
