    I am so glad you made this video about how those of us who are retired or working part-time or at home can use our planners. I used the Franklin Planners while I was working full-time, and I'm struggling with how to better structure my days now that I'm retired. I did change from 2 pages per day (Blooms) to a weekly format (Gingham Gardens) and that has helped. I'm still debating whether to change from Compact to the larger Classic size, as the weekly format has very little room to write. Thanks for thinking of us who are retired and/or have a less structured schedule.

    This is exactly what has drawn me to the Franklin Planner system...to sharpen my saw. This pandemic has been both a blessing and a curse. It’s forced my family and myself to slow down which has been wonderful, but I feel I’m squandering my time and have formed so many bad habits. Rediscovering Franklin Covey has been exactly what I needed to get myself together and prioritize what I fill my day with. I’m enjoying your videos so much. Thank you for sharing!

    I have been using my planner for the past 3 decades (since high school!), and I still find your videos very educational and helpful. I am going to take the Franklin Covey online course though I am not a Franklin planner user. Your video made me want to learn about Benjamin Franklin as well. Just saw a good biography program on TH-cam after listening to your reading his quotatioin. Thank you for piquing my curiosity. I love learning as much as planning!

      Sherry of the Camellia Hey Sherry hi! 🌷 Thank you for watching and commenting. It’s great you’ve been using planners since high school. I wish I had known about them back then. What type of planner do you use now?

    • @sherryofthecamellia1363

      @@TonyaPlans, It's not how long you are using the planner, but how well you are using it - with that, I think you are a better planner than I am, and your daughter (she is so cute!) will be a super planner with your help. Currently, I am using Filofax A5 planner with inserts from Cloth & Paper. I used to be a week on 2 page insert girl, but I started using a day on a page insert this year, and I am loving it. People would say a planner is a waste in this COVID time, but since I plan everyday (work and personal) so well in daily insert, I don't thinks it's wasted on me at all!!

    Hi! Thank you for posting this. Now that life is less hectic, I am being more deliberate about sharpening my saw and keeping those items in my planner. It really is making me a better worker, I'm more effective, because I've taken care of myself. Thank you, your videos have helped me so much!

    This is very helpful. I would add that it's time to look at your values and goals. I am retired, and mine have naturally changed a great deal. My hobbies have become more important because I have the time for them and enjoy working on them. I also think it's important for me to read more. Once you know what is truly important to you, it's easier to prioritize your activities.

    Oh Tonya, THIS was the perfect video at the perfect time! I *finally* ordered the Starter Pack and though I had a general idea that Sharpen the Saw meant self care, just today I was thinking about how I needed to understand Sharpen the Saw better. In fact, that's why I am on You Tube right now, and voila! there was this Sharpen the Saw video in my feed!! 👍 I also wanted to learn more about how to use the Weekly Compass. Your comments gave me a good intro and now I'll go find your other video that goes into more detail. Thank you so much, Tonya! Oh, one more thing~a couple weeks ago when I ordered the Starter Pack, the FC binder of my dreams (I'm switching sizes) and some other forms and accessories (knowing what was in the Pack because of a video you did, ty again), I used your TONYAPLANS code for the discount. I was *SO EXCITED* to get that discount, especially on the binder, as you can imagine. So I wanted to thank you for that also. Your FCP channel has been and is invaluable. My next challenge is deciding about maybe switching from daily to weekly (or maybe HerStory??) since I'm home so much more. Not much going on in the Appointments column currently with the virus situation, and I don't like wasted space. I'm going to ponder your suggestion about using it for Sharpen the Saw info. So thank you for that. You and your family be safe out there. Appreciate you! And Happy Anniversary! What an achievement!

    Hi Tonya, Another great video. When the Compass Cards first came out they were singles stuck together like a notepad and if I were using them as they are now I would leave them attached to each other and just fold them around, stick in the pagefinder pouch, unfold when you're finished with them, and file them in a storage binder since you didn't tear them all apart from the 7-hole margin.

    • @TonyaPlans

      Another great idea. I never thought to leave the weekly compass cards attached and just fold them. 🙂

    My husband is retired and I can see how this system would be good for him (he's used it in the past).
    So which Golden Girl do you relate to? My college friends and I all have our character--I'm Dorothy.

    • @TonyaPlans
      @TonyaPlans  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Robbie N. Congratulations on your husband’s retirement. 😃 I’ve never thought about which Golden Girl I am but I do love Dorothy’s mother (what was her name?j sarcasm! To be Dorothy is good! She is pretty level headed.

      Tonya Plans I'm a practical, function over form person, thus Dorothy. Sophia is her mother.

    Hi Tonya! Just curious, what do you do on the back of your weekly compass card? Seems like I’m letting it go to waste. Any ideas?

    • @TonyaPlans
      @TonyaPlans  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Kelley Brown I use the back of my weekly compass card to make a list for my daughter. She has things she must do before getting her electronics each day like put up clean dishes, fold clothes, pick up in her room, take her vitamins, read for 10 minutes, etc. The list helps me be a better parent. I’ve seen some people meal plan on the back of the compass. You can use it anyway you like. 🙂

    Hi Tonya , Where did you buy your pen grip?

    • @TonyaPlans
      @TonyaPlans  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! Get it here: amzn.to/31HVY59
      The pen grip barely fits on the fat ink pen in this video so I recommend the grips for skinner pens. Thanks for watching.
