Hey there, if you have studio one artist, you can't do third party VSTs. If you have a higher version, you can do VSTs, just make sure they're properly installed.
click the wrench icon next to the metronome icon. In the pop up window, under precount bars, enter 1. then enable pre-roll with the pre-roll button under the auto-punch button which is just to the left of the wrench icon.
does it have good rock drum sounds? and when you do fills is it on a different track? how real do the cymbals sound? and what about bass guitar is there bass sounds u can get playing through with a guitar? sorry for being so needy, I'm just thinking about getting this. and I have always been an analog in line board guy.
I downloaded the demo version to see how I would like it. And there are no sounds? is this how the demo version comes or am I doing something wrong? I get. Effects but when I hit the sounds have there's nothing there
No, but there's no need; you can apply audio FX to the respective replacement tracks if you'd like, or bounce them down to audio tracks to simply use them as an audio track.
This may be a little late, but I use Vengeance for all of my samples. While they primarily do EDM related stuff, there's awesome jazz, blues, and rock samples.
Does sample 1 follow the velocity of the performance or is it would I have to manually do it? Thinking about switching from Pro Tools........this would definitely sell it for me!!!!
Hi i need desperate help!!!!! i use the technique you used, with the sample one, but everytime i go to export the file, the file doesnot come out with the soud of the trigger. it comes out wth only the other track, its like the trigger was silent, and i checked, no mute on trigger. is there a way to convert the trigger into an audio file so i can mix it manually??? please help!
Is there a way to eliminate the clipping at the end of the waves files, or for the most part, at least have some velocity sensitivity on those retriggered sounds?
Does anyone know how to make this program count one measure before recording? I set one bar to be counted in yet it still records from that first measure.
hello, could you do a video on how to setup up a third party VST in presonus studio one - I have the current version, I have ez drummer and want to use it in studio one. I contacted presonus and no one can just give me a straight answer. thank you. cb
This isn't what I thought drum replacement was. Isn't there a software that searches my drum kit to find drumsounds that sounds similar to the drumsound that I am interested to replace?
Hey buddy, is there a way to change the tempo during a song? What I mean is, have a song speed up and slow down at different parts, as opposed to just having the same tempo during the song.
Works Great in Song. The "sampled instruments audio" doesnt seem to export to a project for mastering. Meaning when updating changes in project, Sample one isnt heard. Any ideas?
Hey thanks for the trick. The only thing I have to figure out now is how to get seperate faders for each drum pieces to blend them individually with their "real" piece. All I can do up to now is moving all sample one drum replacement volumes equally. Any idea?
if i want to use it as a layer combined with the original sound, it means i have to make copies of my original bass and kick tracks, trigger them, mute the copies and then blend in the samples with original kick and snare tracks?
i did this. and my midi notes are short and doesnt trigger the whole sound!!! it cuts off the snare and cick sounds with clicks.... is there some kind of release knob im missing or something? also, the sounds i imported are way too hot. how can i fix that? im using studio one 3.2 pro
Doesn't work with Studio One 3 to add another drum to replace. Once you insert a blank Instrument track there is no place to configure output or input that I can find.
I'll be honest, this looks pretty straight forward to me! ARA Audio Random Access: Melodyne in Studio One: /watch?v=F3J8SFhoe10&feature=player_detailpage#t=459s
Hey there, if you have studio one artist, you can't do third party VSTs. If you have a higher version, you can do VSTs, just make sure they're properly installed.
The sample is loaded into the sampler in studio one. You can either load via the operation menu in the plugin, or by dragging and dropping a sample.
click the wrench icon next to the metronome icon. In the pop up window, under precount bars, enter 1. then enable pre-roll with the pre-roll button under the auto-punch button which is just to the left of the wrench icon.
You could clip the sounds down at the end and beginning. But, unfortunately, it's hard to get the dynamics to be correct.
Change the buffer settings on your audio device.

Greg Jay on the website where you download the free version there are 3 separate downloads called vol. 1 and vol.2. the third is tutorials and demos.
No, but there's no need; you can apply audio FX to the respective replacement tracks if you'd like, or bounce them down to audio tracks to simply use them as an audio track.
Seems like it may be simpler to use Melodyne and convert the audio to midi and assign a new drum sound?
Thanks
This may be a little late, but I use Vengeance for all of my samples. While they primarily do EDM related stuff, there's awesome jazz, blues, and rock samples.
We can't do velocity changes, because this is a very basic replacement practice.
Does sample 1 follow the velocity of the performance or is it would I have to manually do it? Thinking about switching from Pro Tools........this would definitely sell it for me!!!!

can you use this method to replace a recorded snare with sampled snare? tnx
Where from is it loaded? In that moment in tutorial cursor arrow disappears and I can't see where you take it from =(
I hear popping and latency. Did you notice that? Latency is not acceptable for replacing drums. What do you think?
Is there a way to eliminate the clipping at the end of the waves files, or for the most part, at least have some velocity sensitivity on those retriggered sounds?
Can u record these replacement kick and snare to their perspective tracks?
Done! Thanks!
I just tried to do impossible with not supported type files. Now it works great! =)
I don't get it. where the sample sound is hidden? =) how does it appear in instrument track editing window?
Simply do the mixdown, and make sure your replacement track is active in the mix.
@ShidoAki Of course! I'm Brian :) THanks for watching!
Does anyone know how to make this program count one measure before recording? I set one bar to be counted in yet it still records from that first measure.
@mixinginthebox totally. I like how quickly you can do this in DAWs :)
How do I include the replacement triggers in the mixdown?
guitar rig 4 works fine in studio one, as long as you have a version which allows you to use third party VSTs.

thank you. cb
how about the velocity changes sir?
Anywhere you want!
it's not hidden, it's playing from the sampler.
This isn't what I thought drum replacement was.
Isn't there a software that searches my drum kit to find drumsounds that sounds similar to the drumsound that I am interested to replace?
it's not hidden - it's loaded in the plugin, and triggered by the gate.
Hey buddy, is there a way to change the tempo during a song? What I mean is, have a song speed up and slow down at different parts, as opposed to just having the same tempo during the song.
could this work with studio drummer?
But where do the samples come from?
Works Great in Song. The "sampled instruments audio" doesnt seem to export to a project for mastering. Meaning when updating changes in project, Sample one isnt heard. Any ideas?
+OBEDIA Tutor When importing a file anything it does not like to change the buffer what is it you can write a step-by-step what to do

Just take your time mixing, is what I'd say.
You can't use articulation with this method, unfortunately. It's for straight up sound replacement.
can u make a tutorial for it? its quite confusing
Does anyone know how articulation works in studio one?
if i want to use it as a layer combined with the original sound, it means i have to make copies of my original bass and kick tracks, trigger them, mute the copies and then blend in the samples with original kick and snare tracks?
That would be correct, yes.
Where did you drag the distorted kick drum from?

@MrLoveBites You got it! Thanks for watching, please sub for more!
i did this. and my midi notes are short and doesnt trigger the whole sound!!! it cuts off the snare and cick sounds with clicks.... is there some kind of release knob im missing or something? also, the sounds i imported are way too hot. how can i fix that? im using studio one 3.2 pro
+Bret Bunton Not sure, give a call at 323-319-4051. Thanks.

uushaggy sure it does. I developed this in Studio One 3.
You can't do velocity using this method, but it's quick and it works :)
converting audio to midi is much harder than you think. This is a more straightforward method.
Thank you very much for the tutorials. Much appreciated!
Thanks for the tips. You guys rule
Trim them down, is best. You can't do velocity control using this method, sadly.
Thanks, that was really helpful and inspiring! What a time saver!
Keep it up :-)
how to save
+1Rogal File/save
It's on the list :)
good luck to you!
@MrLoveBites You got it! Thanks!
slate is great! plus, that rhymes :P
Yup!
I believe it could!
thank you!
unfortunately, no. for that you'd need a drum replacement plugin, such as drumagog.
You got it! Thanks!
Yes, as I say, there are third party ways to do this; drumagog, other applications. My way of doing it is simply another way.
I needed that.
Thank you, please sub for more!
Great tip! Thanks!
damn my speakers ..that intro
I had headphones on.. is bleeding from the ears a bad thing? haha
Mute the track you don't want.
:) thanks so much.
Awesome! trick ..Thanks so much! :)
ok thanks!
can't beat the untz!
I'll be honest, this looks pretty straight forward to me!
