      Yes but most likely, it may be next season before I see one of these machines. I plan on doing a full service on a Troy built that I own, which will be similar. What is the model number from your sticker in the back above the transmission cover where your feet would be if you were standing behind it? I can take that number and put it on file and when I get a machine like yours, I will perform a full service for you.Thank you very much for supporting my channel. Please share it to help it grow:)

    A good video to get familiar with this model because the choke and the throttle run totally the opposite of Aerins and most any other, I have 15 machines now and this is the only one that has the choke and throttle going in the opposite direction. Who makes the motor for these machines?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines

      The engines are from China. You can get all parts through Cub Cadet (MTD).

      I hope all goes well! Thank you for watching and the kind comment. If you do not use your machine a lot, Check out this fuel which will keep your carburetor from having issues in the future from gas going bad from sitting. Just remember if you use this gas, you cannot mix it with pump gas or your machine will not benefit from using it. Its called ASPEN4 and I highly recommend it. Always have had a hard time with mine from the day it was new. It’s about 6 years old now and still like new! We haven’t had that many heavy snow falls since I bought it! Nice machine as mine does have the heated handles and power steering. Maybe I prime it too much. Doesn’t matter if I use electric or pull start. Sometimes it’s a b$#3 to start too if I shut it down and it’s warmed up.

      Your hard stating issues most likely are due to; not knowing how to correctly start the machine OR normal pump gas going bad and yes, you said since the beginning, you have had this issue. You may need to clean or replace you carburetor and start using Aspen4. Here is a link to read up on the Aspen4. aspenfuels.com/products/alla/aspen-4

    I Think having 4 shear pins is a bit of a pain. Toro has no shear pin blowers and I feel that is better? Excellent video though! 👍🙌 thanks! my neighbor has a cub cadet and I was considering getting one this winter here in Ohio.

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines

      Only certain model Toro snow throwers did not have them. I have worked on many that do and in my opinion, it is better to have them. If you do not then you will ruin your auger gears and that would be a major repair of hundreds of dollars not just a couple dollars for a shear pins or two.

  • @bluestar9463
    @bluestar9463 ปีที่แล้ว

    May be common sense, but don't touch and move the auger blades with the engine running - A little torque and you'll be hurtin'. I've had this great machine for 3 years now - Oil changes and general lubrication gives a start every time....

    Hello sir, thanks for your detailed video. Watching it for my very first time Jan 15 2024, from Ottawa Canada. Bought this snow blower this past weekend, and I'm just waiting for its delivery today. I've never owned a snow blower, but I can't take the shoveling anymore. My elder folks and myself can't be shoveling so we finally decided on this equipment. I'm a little apprehensive in operating it but I hope/pray it all goes well 😊😇🙏🙏. BTW I'm a woman too 😉

      Thank you for the kind comment and I hope all goes well! Don’t be intimidated by a machine. It is there to help you and you’ll do just fine. I personally wear hearing protection when I’m blowing snow for two reasons. One is two make the engine, not as loud to the hearing so it doesn’t seem so intimidating to use and two is to keep your ears warm! Lol.

      @@JohnsonsSmallEngines Thank you for the kind advice. I did try the snow blower and it was something else. For my very first time. Though, I was a bit scare specially not being able to steer it right or left without lifting the front of it and literally moving it myself. Is there a better way to steer it left or right? Maybe I missed reading the operator's manual. This morning I woke up with sore arms from the lifting. All in all I was happy with myself that I managed to get it going, started and I removed lots of snow 😀. BTW, I wasn't bothered by the engine sound, and I wore my tuque to keep my head and ears warm 🤣 - thanks again!

    Is it better to use the electric starter on very cold days,or the recoil cord to start?Such as -20-30 C (-4 to -22 F)Thanks.

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว

      Absolutely yes. It’s almost impossible to start the engine with the pull cord at those temperatures. Once the engine is warmed up, you should be able to use the pull handle if needed.

    How do you turn on the head lights?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you do not have a head lamp switch? (some did and some did not)The head light should come on automatically after you start the engine. If it does not come on, check to make sure the electrical wires are ok and your electric plug is plugged into the light? You may need a new bulb. To verify that you need a bulb, you would need to check voltage at the light socket plug when the engine is running at full speed with a volt tester or 12volt test light. I do not have a video on that yet.

    • @tubetop123
      @tubetop123 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also Mine does not start I pull out the spark plug and cleaned up black stuff. Then it starts. Great.
      But a few minutes later,when I try to start it again it does not.
      I look at the spark plug it has a little bit of black, I clean again, and then after a few pulls, it starts.
      What could be the issue here? It should start whenever i pull it right? Shouldn't need to clean a plug each time

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines

      I do not know the running condition of your machine and it’s almost impossible to teach something over a text but to try and answer your question. After the machine has been running for a while and you turn it off. Most of the time when restarting the machine you do not need to use the primer or sometimes not even the choke is needed but not all the time and conditions vary greatly and also the running condition of your machine falls into this too. You may just need to figure out how your machines starts for you. Trial and error.

      Thank you! Not sure how much you will use your machine but in our area the snow throwers are not used much and we have many that will not run from year to year from gas going bad inside the carburetor. If you live in a area like that you should start using Aspen4 fuel so you will not have starting issues. Here is a link to read up on the fuel and where to purchase in yuor area. www.aspenfuels.com/products/alla/aspen-4/.

    Any ideas on the motor trying to but not turning over?

    • @JohnsonsSmallEngines
      @JohnsonsSmallEngines  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the time snow throwers do not start due to gas going bad inside the carburetor from sitting. Gasoline goes bad in small quantities if it sits to long. Then it will gum up the carburetor and the machine will sound like its trying but will not start. Watch this video to find out what may be going on. th-cam.com/video/Wj25U4FDV-0/w-d-xo.html It is not your exact machine but the engine is very similar.
