  • I finally broke down and purchased a new snow blower. The old one was 19 years old and was breaking down more and more often. I was going to fix it up again but threw in the towel and got this BEAST of a machine!
    Today I'm going to unbox it and show you how to assemble it, per the manual's specifications. I am also going to start it up for the first time WITHOUT cheating and using the electric start! :-)
    This is the new Cub Cadet 3x 26" snow thrower. That's right, three stage. The third stage is another impeller up front that pulls the snow into the main thrower impeller.
    As of the making of this video, it hasn't snowed that much outside. On the next decent snowfall (likely next year), I will do another video showing how it does out there. I have used it on a couple inches of ice and I am extremely pleased with its performance. Be sure to subscribe so you can see the follow-up video showing it in action!
    Thank you so much for watching. We really appreciate all of our viewers and all of our supporters!

    You might have thought about putting some oil in before running it, as it was quite low.

      Great point! Yes, you should always verify the oil level before starting up a gas engine. I did fill mine to capacity before running it, but it may have been off-camera. Thanks for watching!

      I don't remember seeing an extra wire on mine. Hopefully you were able to figure it out!

    3x is junk unless you live in a dry climate!

    I was able to easily put my snow blower together by just watching the video. Great job.

    what are the extra "shoe pins" for? in the little baggie?

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Those are "sheer pins". On the auger, there are sheer pins so if you suck up something like a rock and it jams itself between the machine and auger stopping the auger, it will break the sheer pin instead of the machine drivetrain or the auger. Think of it like a fuse. Just remove the obstruction, pull out whatever remains of the broken sheer pin, replace it with a new sheer pin, and you're back in business! Don't forget to grab a new sheer pin, just in case you suck up something else - they are available at Home Depot.

    Thanks so much for this great video. I was a bit intimidated until you showed that it wasn't too difficult. Will have to add that nifty tire pressure guage to my growing "single lady man tool" collection 😂

    What tools did you need

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't remember exact sizes, but it was just a couple of metric sockets/wrenches. I think there were a couple philips screws. Nothing too special.

    Is it cheaper to put it together yourself and where did u end up buying this machine from

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ordered that one through Home Depot. They didn't have one in stock so I had to have it shipped to store. I believe they offer free assembly, but I just chose to do it myself.

    Why non-Ethanol fuel? Thanks for the assembly video.

    • @3DayWeekend
      @3DayWeekend  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ethanol is terrible for carburetors. It will eat away at it from the inside and dry out the seals, especially if it is left to sit for any length of time. If you can't get non-ethanol fuel, I would be sure to shut the fuel off and let the carb run dry before letting it sit. It will still ruin the carb, but it will take a lot longer. Since I've switched all my carbureted machines to non-ethanol, I have not had a single failed or clogged carb. Thank you for watching!

      @@3DayWeekend exactly. My small engine mechanic showed me the particles left behind in the carb when using ethanol gas. Using no ethanol gas and no problems with any of my equipment.

      @@3DayWeekenddoes places like Home Depot sell non ethanol fuel? I rarely can find it at gas stations.
