At time of deadly virus spreading all over the world, you must prioritize saving more people's life than one people's life. Elisa didn't had a vaccination certificate, and there IS a possibility that she's infected, even if the chances of her spreading the virus is low.. it is never zero. So, even if it's a very depressing choice to make, you have to let elisa die than getting your entire country where hundreds of couple like elisa live. It is hard, but this is the right thing

@@andresrodrz i would like the ide of sergiu checking the man with the poison on his passport, making you choose between rejecting and killing 5-6 people, admitting but killing Sergiu, or simply not poisoning
@@andresrodrzOn the bright side, since he stands at the bottom post you could still tranq him to stop the Ezic from shooting him. A shame the middle guy isn't so lucky.

This game is a piece of art. While the visuals are minimalistic, the plot and gameplay are great.
that’s facts the detail they put into the story is crazy + the amount of different endings

Most gold games released today are usually pixel games. They hit boomer with a sense of nostalgia and a good story compared to AAA games today that look realistic, but without proper story to tell

Even better, if you point out the disrepancy of her missing documents, she'll plead and say she can't obtain them or else she'd he in trouble. If you approve her passport at that point, your character will tell her "he is waiting for you."
When I played I actually gave her the locket and my character said it then. After that when I approved her she just thanked me
I just got to this part in the game and was grinning the whole time. I'd take a citation for my bro sergiu any day of the week.
Downside: you lose your loyalty run

To those complaining that saving Sergiu is too difficult: *No amount of effort is too much.*
It might've took 6 attempts but it made Sergiu happy

We've ALL just stopped giving a shit about checking papers as well as the ever ticking clock, and just watched this unfold the first time around.

This is the only citation that you can't feel you did something bad, because the moment is so wholesome
idgaf about a citation. i want to see families reunited.
And of course, they script a border attack at the end of the day which is very easy to mess up and have Sergiu die. So you went through the effort to reunite them to let them have a happy ending only for it to be taken at the last moment. Although you don’t see Elisa again if that happens, I can only imagine that she’s left devastated and without a home

A face whose filled with hopelessness immediately lights up with happiness in this city brimmed with darkness as you stared at Elisa tearfully running into the arms of Sergio who is mesmerized by her sudden appearance, embracing one another as they reached upon another. You can't help but break a smile as you see these two have their heartfelt reunion while the printing machine starts buzzing and printing out a disciplinary conduct ticket as you sighed and muttered under your breath _*_"worth it"_*

Ever seen bumblesmcfumbles? Sergio Got attack by 3 terrorists after the guy helped sergio. The Line of “I DID NOT BREAK THE RULES JUST SO YOU 3 COULD KILL SERGIO. *SHOT* WAIT *SHOT* IN LINE LIKE *SHOT* THE REST OF US” portrays the feeling perfectly

When I saw the terrorist attack in the game And serigu died, I was in tears
He can survive mate
if you get better you can save him
That citation sound is terrifying if you ever play the game
Dont be a stickler to the rules
Have some leeway sometimes
They always say this.
Then they let in someone who kills their countrymen.
They feel guilt.
Now there is no more leeway.
Only give leeway when you are 100% sure about the details of who you give it to.
It's not reuniting a family, but creating a new one

I always wondered why Sergiu had a different colored uniform compared to the three usual guards and the dude who helps disable the bomb who all where blue. It could be just to make Sergiu stand out more and it could also be since he is a 6 Year War vet
that’s a good question i always just thought it was to notice him easier but that could make sense if he’s higher ranking or longer standing to have a different color
I always thought that he was a guard with an anesthetic rifle, just like your second one
Think its just to make him stand out and easier to differentiate from Calensk
It's probably because he isn't a border guard he is originally a national guard or something. So he wears his normal military clothes
he's a soldier, so he has a different uniform

In my first play through, Sergei died before Elisa could pass through. Fyi, she will turn back and leave after you return the locket and explain to her about Sergei's death. It's heartbreaking and you wouldn't know what'll happen to her after.
i might make that into a video as well, definitely something i haven’t had happen in a play through. sounds much bleaker than the ending pictured for sure.

It’s basically only possible if you know what’s going to happen
Also, unless you have perfect accuracy (which a first-time player panicking certainly won’t), you’ll need to switch to the rifle after running out of tranq ammo. and if you, like most first time players, lose the rifle key in the sea of documents on your desk, they’ll definitely kill sergiu before you can do that.

*Looks at the three guards, grabs Ezic sniper rifle, shoots the bottom biker, waits for the grenadier to get on the top bikers and shoot him, somehow saved all three guards.*
I’m not sure if this is true but if you deny Elisa I think Sergiu stays and gets killed by the EZIC truck on day 31

Not gonna lie, I always let Elisa to pass and then pause to see the reunion between 2 lovers even when they are in their pixel mode. Also, every time Sergiu dies, I always replay the day.

I finished this game for 5 days
Aw man, my version was so much more dramatic. If I remember corectly, Elisa came in when Sergi wasn't around, so I didn't see them meeting, and on the next day Sergi was gunned down by a motorcyclist, I wasn't fast enough to shoot him, he came with guys in jeep, I was dealing with them. I had her locket laying on my table till the end of the game. But I respect the rng, this is cool

Than my next recommended thing was, “ruining a family”, the thumbnail is just a sniper scope on Sergui, ngl, I had a pretty good laugh

This game is amazing it has its dark moments but it also has moments like these its quite wholesome seeing this encounter gives some peace after dealing with all the terrorists
I failed to save Sergiu, damn
I reloaded a previous day, and succeeded on the 2nd attempt.
You must be *very* quick, and accurate; but it can be done, and it is worthwhile. Sergiu is a good one, one of the few in this otherwise bleak game.

The Papers, Please movie proves and realistically says otherwise.
It's easy to say yes, but to say yes and suffer the consequences? While we may like to lean to compassion, sometimes, the price to pay can bite us in the ass.

Now you're on your last citation and someone wants to get in to run away from their country but you need to pay hospital bills or else your grandparents will die.

It could be hell of the plot twist if some time later after letting her through they both died from infection which was hinted in newspapers that day (if i remember correctly)

I really wished there is a hidden mechanic where the more kind you were the less terrorist attacks would occur. This will drive the players to do good things at the cost of money.

It's possible to save him during a terrorist attack if you're about that. I've saved him at least
Not really but I think it depends. I dont remember if the condition was to allow Elisa to enter, but I think some days later before the major EZIC attack he goes to ur cabin and tells u he's being relocated and gives u one of the tokens, so he's replaced with a common blue guard.
I feel like that maybe doesn’t fit in line with the game’s idea that being a good person in these circumstances is incredibly costly in both money and personal safety.
