Hey Cindy 1) 24 hours before rinsing 2) the shirt is damp (wet it and then squeeze out as much water as you can) 3) washcare instructions would be to not wash it with other pieces of clothing for the first 2 washes atleast. Hope that helps :)
The longer you let it set the deeper the colors. Wash first with just soap to remove any sizing .. don't dry. After the washer spins out excess water. I start with however I plan on folding, crinkling, etc.. once dyed I put into a plastic bag and leave at least 24 hrs or more. Rinse as she did .. then wash and dry. Use 100% cotton or rayon for best results.

I did something similar to that but I had the spiral start from the left shoulder and mine was blue, purple and red. It came out the same way since I had a tad bit of help from my art teacher in college cos she wanted to see how it would come out. We made two of them cos she wanted one too.

how long do you have to wait to put the black on and then how long do you have to wait till u wash it out ?
Black after the color, rinse after 24 hrs.. at least thats what I'm gathering from this and other instructions

In india they do it to saree and clothes. Called BANDHANI

The weird thing that the neck tag didn't absorb any of the colors haha
Some of the dyes used for home tied-dye only bond to cotton, the neck tag is generally synthetic.

@@DerIdoof the seams are white because manufacturers use polyester thread which doesn't dye. I tie dye for a living so I know these things.

If use Soda Ash, You have to wait 24 hours, But if you use Waterglass, you just need 2-3 hours.
