3 questions. 1. Was the shirt damp when you first laid it on the shaving cream? 2. At the end, was the shirt rinsed in cold water? 3. What type of dye did you use? That shirt turned out beautiful by the way!
That is beautiful. How would it turn out if you created an image on the shaving cream with fork? I could see a horse or bull on the bottom right corner of the shirt, would that transfer to the fabric?
Why did you put the shaving cream in the paint bottles? And why did you put it in the bowl first then put it on the surface to spread it out? Seems like steps that were not needed
To thicken the dye for more precise application. The bowl is to make sure all particles are dissolved. A little water, then shaving cream .So you don’t get spots of dye that looks like it didn’t dissolve.Little things could ruin a shirt. I put a paper towel over shirt before the ice and it helps to prevent the spots as well.
It looks like they added a small amount of soda ash in the bowl before adding shaving cream, water and mixing. This is one more step to ensure the dye is fixed and colors stay bright as possible.
Omggg the result is AMAZINGGGG
Awesome! I've only seen people use this technique on small things, like hats or socks. But this shirt came out fabulous!

Need to add water, so the color would spread easily.

Yes. But do not add water if you use foam. And make sure that your dye is more thick than usual.
