The one in Alnwick is my absolute favourite, they are dog friendly too and in winter the log fire in the frown room with the comfy chairs is sooo inviting. Loved the miniature train going above our heads, it was such a surprise ❤
Lovely video… really enjoyed exploring with you. As an Aussie I hadn’t realised that Americans had different book cover’s until last year when embarking upon my Agatha Christie reading challenge. Thoroughly entertained by the writing style ( not about the description of ‘old’ ladies in their 50s !!) I discovered that the US covers are completely different. Can you smart ladies maybe do a vid explaining to us why? Because I can’t think why publishers go to so much trouble… especially when you’ve shown that your eye was drawn to the UK covers repeatedly. No need to be nervous… you were awesome 😍
From what I’ve read, publishing companies change the covers to suit market preferences of each country!! I guess the British have different tastes than us haha. US covers tend to be lighter and flashier than U.K. ones, and US covers more often have characters on the front! So fascinating. I used to live in England so maybe I’ve picked up their tastes 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for watching and your thoughts!
I have lost count of the books that I’ve bought, just because I fell in love with the covers. My brief flirtation with ebooks is well and truly over. We will definitely check out the Waterstones in Bradford as it’s the nearest to where we live. Thank you.
loved this vlog , thanks for sharing the tour around England and bookshops and book cover comparison, because Book Covers are so important. Why don't US Authors get that? I can't tell you how Many books I choose by the cover alone and afterwards I realize it's a UK Author countless times either I pickup or request to review an ARC by a Cover. I would probably never read Bable in the US cover and the UK version is gorgeous enough that I'd have to check it out.
I feel the same about covers. I strongly dislike the fluorescent pink uk cover for Weyward, I had to order the US cover off Amazon.. but, at least I know I have the desire to pick it up & read it..
The Waterstones in Bradford is my local one! Thought I recognised it in the intro! It is my calm space. Except for the time a toddler was in there throwing a tantrum and RUINING THE VIBE! Apologies for all the ridiculous construction in Bradford. They are pedestrianising it
The Cloisters British cover is so pretty.
right?!
Great video - I loved the tour of all the bookshops! Great book choices, too!
Thank you!! It was so much fun

That sounds so picturesque, hope I can visit in the winter at some point!!
Amazing vlog, I loved seeing all the different places in the UK and your haul!
Aw thanks for coming along! ❤️❤️🇬🇧
I think the British cover for The Maid is gorgeous…teal is my favourite color (I stuck the u in there as an homage to England, lol).
LOL yeahh tbh I think you might be right about the UK cover. I’m reading the book now and the teal is striking!!

@@ErinandElaina Yeah, Market Street is quite the maze right now! And sometimes has the added fun of a brain shaking pneumatic drill!
Me gustaría oír el sonido real, sin música de esos grandes y preciosos sitios❤
you should visit!
Nice nails reflex color, is it effectual if you are in the heavy rain on the noisy street ....
Yes sometimes I even help direct traffic if it’s needed
@@ErinandElaina Ok :-) Greetings from Pilsen...
