Leave the franken-products to Safiya guys

I bet people think this because of tootsie pops! They were well known for their mystery flavor and (allegedly) it was a mix of all the leftovers from other batches. Now when people see "mystery flavor" (especially '90s and aughts kids) that's probably the first thing that comes to mind.

❌No, it's because of Safiya Nygaard since names her products Franken-something (ex: Franken-Lipbalm, Franken-Foundation, Franken-Sefora-Lipstick, etc.)

@@pinkkrystalz7610 It's probably a mix of both, right? Does Safiya retail her Franken-products or does she just make them on video for fun?

Though the thought of a Franken lip balm does have a nice ring to it.
    Maybe something to look into?

The amount of batches they'd have to save scraps from to create a single tray of franken lip balms is somewhere near to 225-230 (she says the leftover per batch is enough to barely fill a tube in this video and in other videos has said it isn't enough for a tube so it definitely seems to vary; one tray is 225 lip balms). And since lip balms are made from oils, in her case coconut oil & cocoa butter specifically, those oils will eventually go rancid. Saving up scraps to create a franken lip balm for a surprise lip balm product, even if it didn't have other possible issues, means a DRASTICALLY shorter shelf life since a good chunk of the shelf life is wasted waiting to collect enough leftovers to even have a batch at all.
Other issues could include potentially harmful allergic reactions (if I know I'm allergic to, say, her vanilla mint I can avoid that and even include that in the order comments so she won't give me that as a surprise product) but if it's in the surprise flavor as a franken lip balm and I don't know that... problem. She also does batch numbering that can be used to help track if there are any production issues such as cross contamination (so she can issue a recall). Also there are potentially issues with mixing the flavor oils. They need to be carefully tested to see if there are adverse reactions mixing them. They might have weird interactions that affect the lip balm base or even each other.

@@iKit306yes for a business it would be a nightmare to track lot numbers & ingredients and the labeling would have to be massive to disclose all the potential ingredients in a frankentube. .
