Favorite moment? At the battle for old Yarikawa, when you unlock the ghost stance and turn the tide of battle. It was the most badass moment of the game. I wish the remainder of the story kept up to this. Also, all of the mystical quests were really good
Just completed that quest man that battle was freaking EPIC I felt goosebumps all over me. Best moment in the game untill now lol

I bought this game today on PS5. Never played it before, was waiting for this version to come out. My wife's on night shifts at the moment, so after she left I fired up the game for the first time on, headphones on, cozy lit room, and immediately fell in love with this game. Just came off after my first 4 hours and I have to say that already it's been one of the most beautiful, enjoyable, immersive games I've ever played. Cannot recommend this game enough - I can't wait to play it again tomorrow!

I'm absolutely happy with this expansion, and was SO HAPPY to jump back into the game after doing literally everything there was to do when it came out. So far, my favorite new thing is the flute activity where you have to move the controller to match the song. I've never played a game on PS4 that utilized the controller in that way, and it's so fun to me for some reason.
How do you do that? I just swipe left once to use the flute..

You missed the part about there being NO loading screens and that ALL the cutscenes are now in real time in the full ps5 upgrade. The ps4 version also had pre rendered cutscenes to hide loading screens.
If the no loading screen thing is real, its gotta be amazin.

@@staccato6083 yeah every native or optimized PS5 game I've played had no loading screens and if they do, they're very short. The PS4 ones using backwards compatibility have loading screens but they're shorter than PS4

I love how you can feel the direction of the wind in the controller when you swipe up on the pad. Took me by surprise. That’s a pretty neat feature.

I feel like this is gonna become a trend of companies making a game and then re release it again. And Ghosts did it right with a fairly small price tag and good content/changes but I can see EA rubbing their dirty hands together now

I played through and beat this game only once, as one of my last games before I said goodbye to my ps4 and moved on to my ps5. It was absolutely beautiful, super fun, great campaign and story, and the load times already surprised me. I haven't touched the expansion or the multiplayer. I'm going to buy a disc version because I like physical more, and also because I genuinely want to show appreciation and support for games like this.
For me this is a near perfect game. Yes it's got some issues but it just absorbs you in to the world. Always loved Japanese culture and its history so this is number one for me

It’s bland and boring and doesent add any interesting mechanics to make it actually worth it.
It pretty much the same as sekiros stealth minus the crazy jumping and grappling.

Unless you are very eager to have haptics and adaptive triggers, I’d advise you just buy the ps4 version. It’s 60 fps at 1800p through backwards compatibility. You’ll save $10, the only visual enhancements are native 2160 p

Wait… so if you have GOS ps4 disk ver and you play it on the ps5 you’ll get the graphics update and stuff right? You don’t have to buy the ps5 disk ver of the game just the $30 DLC ya?
@@royalet7982 it depends on the game. The GoW PS5 upgrade is free, but the GoT one costs money. Disc or digital version doesn't matter.
@@royalet7982 yes bro if you have GOT on PS4 and put you disk in your ps5 it will look and run better than the on PS4, but without the directors cut you will not have haptic feed back, adaptive triggers, 3D audio, enhanced graphics, or anything else that makes it truly next gen

My favorite thing is the monkey outfit. Especially the golden version inside legends. It fits so well with the monkey mask from the base game and the monkey emote. I’ve been rocking the crazy monkey curse lore ever since. Even shelved my golden armor for it.
That stand off battle at the the end of this video going through the cave was really fun to me I liked having to deal with the light exploring through almost any part of the game is for sure a positive

I had to pick our PS5 copy of Ghost of Tsushima from GameStop after work...it was 4'ish. Wait a minute...your GameStop opens at 9:00 AM? The one I go to opens at 11:00 AM.

I was in the middle of the campaign when I switched from original PS4 to PS5. I haven't started playing again yet, but finally got all the new stuff installed and my save switched over. It's gonna be interesting to see the generational differences.

Fell in love with this game on my first play through when it released. Fell in love with it again when I upgraded to the Director’s Cut. So much so that I platinumed the game! Tsushima is proof that video games can be works of art.
After 7 play throughs, I guess you could say I was ready for more content. Iki island did not disappoint. Favorite part is honestly either the animal sanctuaries or the “additions” to the horse
Hahaha, 7? I have played it 3 times. It is the best game I have ever played on a console. Restarting it doesn't even take away the intensity and pleasure derived.
Personally I’d give it a 9/10, I thought the story was pretty good (not better than base game, but the final boss was AWESOME) Iki island is small but has some of the most visually striking locations in the entire game (Purple Monkey Forest!!!!) my one gripe is just that the story wasn’t as long as I hoped (around 7 hours to completely speed run through the story), I want MORE! Anyways, a must play if you loved the main game.

Are there more side missions if you platinum the base game?
@@ulrichleukam1068 yes. 7 hours is just the main story, there’s about 2-3 hours of side missions I think, haven’t done them all
I went in blind (no videos, trailers, or knowing what this game was about) on a ps5. Safe to say I'm over 150 hrs in and in love with this game. It has the attention to detail of agta game. The story and character development is unreal
How have you played the game for that long?? I wasn’t even trying until I saw how close I was to a platinum and got it in roughly 50 hours what do you do for the extra 100 hours?

The Monkey armor is really awesome! I also like the Crimson Dye merchant & the cat mask you can find on Iki.
+ it's cool that you can get the Legends Assassin mask in the basegame if you finish all Legends Tales.
I never played before buying the directors cut. I’m only about 6 hours in but I’m loving it so far. Exceeded all my expectations! I’m a fan of Samurai-era Japan and this scratches that itch big time. The combat loop is very satisfying. Ps Jake, your videos are awesome. I watch almost all your before you buys and find them super helpful. So thanks and keep them coming!!
I love this game, and even though a lot of people may not agree with me, I wanted there to be paid DLC just so I could support sucker punch, they released free multiplayer instead. So when they announced this I was really happy there was was a way to support them further.
This is one of the few games where I’m willing to pay up, that’s how much enjoyment it brought me.
I got this this past Black Friday on a whim, because $70 game with all the bells and whistles for $30 is too good to pass up, but I still wasn't sure if I really wanted to play this or not. By the end of the video I think I have my answer. You just get to be a badass. It looks really cool and the combat looks good. I have plenty enough to play already but this ones gonna stay on my shelf for sure and I'm looking forward to popping the plastic on it when I'm ready. Exciting stuff.

Ive been replaying recently and its so worth it.
It has AMAZING combat and a great combat with, in my opinion, the most beautiful and artistic graphics ever.
Gathering the armour, getting the special attacks and ghost weapons is not tedious at all as quests are masterfully written.
I also just want to point out something that I wish I knew before I bought the game: it is not a *samurai* game, its much deeper than it. Saying any more would be spoilers

Just got it too. It was $60 before the sale. Its like a very well polished AC game with Samurai, which I'm totally loving. Theres a lot of slow parts and stuff like sitting for haiku or not being able to skip slow cut scenes, which can get old quick. Otherwise, it's an amazing game that I will try to complete. Love the smooth combat. I'm about 12hours in, and it's getting better and better. I went from loathing some parts to being totally hooked on this breathtakingly beautiful game

The DLC definitely felt a lot harder than the base game. I’m not sure if it’s because I haven’t played it in months or if they definitely upped the difficulty of these new enemies. It was amazing none he less!

Favorite new item is definitely that armor you mentioned. Unfortunately, after upgrading almost all of the base game armor, I didn’t have enough silk for the final two upgrades of the new armor 😩 Overall, still love the expansion.
I really like the new content so far. Been grinding out the main and side stories. About halfway done with max upgrades on the new armor
This gives me flashbacks to witcher 3 so much it would be a perfect world if it was released on pc
I bought it and already got all the new trophies I would recommend picking it up if you enjoyed the game. Great subtle changes and badass new armor and charms plus a good story and new kinds of side content.
I love this game so much. It will always be one of my favorite games. So glad I upgraded to Directors cut, it was so worth it. The DLC is now one of my favorite things about the game. Iki Island is amazing. I've spent many hours on it and still got more left to do. I'm really liking all the new activities

I managed to get PS4 version for $25 a few months before the directors cut came out.
Played like an hour, then waited till the PS5 version came out last night to really sink my teeth into it.
I love it so far. The combat is incredibly satisfying, and the side stuff is actually interesting and necessary to make your life easier.
Can’t wait to play more.
After finishing Darksouls, Bloodborne and Sekiro this game was really easy-peasy even on Hard mode but what a captivating story with fascinating visuals - really kept me on the edge of my seat
im actually going through the story again, this game is beautiful , story is awesome, love the combat. The improvements are noticeable at least to me, cant wait to jump into the expansion.

I'm treating this like I did with my second playthrough of Horizon where I left the frozen wilds expansion until after the main story. so far though I'd say the graphical improvements are impressive for a game that already looked incredible.
and it looks like they finally fixed some of the camera issues by making certain environmental objects transparent when they're in the way. (that might not be completely new? I'm not sure)
Literally just did the exact same thing with Horizon - replayed everything, and saved Frozen Wilds for last. Fuck that game is so good, man.

I just wish this game had more armors, weapons, and upgrades for late game. Imagine the play style of something like Oblivion within these amazing graphics and combat
Started the PS5 DC for the first time 2 days ago and I'm stunned. Can't stop playing it. Played HZD before that and yes, open world games are similar but Ghost really feels unique in terms of atmosphere.
I first bought the Digital Deluxe Edition back round the initial release. I pre-ordered Director's Cut for my PS4 & I havent regretted either purchase. Im more than happy to pay more money for this game on PS5 when the time comes to upgrade. Im also already sold on upcoming sequels based on how amazing of a job Sucker Punch did with this masterpiece.
As far as the DLC goes, I too enjoy the Sarugami armor. I enjoy the choices (shout out to one in a side quest pertaining to a fun character, the Ghost of Iki; which can result in completely different paths of how to complete the sidequest). And that final confrontation is amazing!
Best story in an open world game I’ve seen. Fantastic scenery, combat, equipment progression, pacing of missions, etc. I’ve had the most fun reaching Platinum trophy in this game without having to grind at all. Happy to have do it again spending $30 more. I know people would rather have this money go to the devs rather than the publisher, but we have no control.

I don't really ever buy games at full price. I rented Ghost of Tsushima and Platinumed it at launch. Then when legends came I decided to buy it for £40 slight sale price. Now I paid £30 for the Directors cut. So I especially sent in total £70. I would say the original campaign itself was worth full price but when you add legends mode and the DLC. It's definitely worth it. But I get it a lot of people aren't comfortable with buying games at full price I'm one of them. But once in a while a gem comes along that is worth it to me. Ghost of Tshushima is one of them!
I intentionally waited on playing Ghosts because I figured it would re-release for the PS5, and I only had a base PS4 at that point. So for me I didn't mind the extra $10 given that if I had gotten it for the PS4 originally I would have paid $60 without the DLC. I do think that the pricing structure for the upgrade for people who already have it is a bit unfair. If there is a cost associated with PS4 to PS5 upgrades it should be no more then the difference between the cost of a PS4 and PS5 game. The $70 new price point for the Directors Cut basically acknowledges that the company doesn't believe the added content is worth anymore then an additional $10, yet there basically gouging people who already own the game anyway.
This right here. Nothing but facts. 30 dollars in the US. But 30 euros over here in the Netherlands as well. Its crazy. Shouldve been 10 euros or 15 at most
@@ernestodark198 when I saw what they did here, I was glad I waited. I’m getting the full experience for $70 (base game, enhancements, and DLC). Anyone who bought this at launch for the PS4 is paying $90 for the same content. That’s a predatory business practice. What about the upgrade path makes what there getting any different then what I’m getting by buying the Directors Cut. Simply put, they know if you want the enhancements and DLC your only options are to pay $30, or $70 for the full game again. So realistically, they know they can charge whatever they want for the upgrade because you either pay it or you can’t play it.

The game is amazing, and I knew very well that when they relaunched it would come out at the $70 price tag, which because I had not originally played or bought it was more then acceptable to me. But just before the Directors Cut launched the PS Store, GameStop and Best Buy were still selling the base PS4 game for $60 bucks new. You can't argue depreciation when the original product was still being sold for full price when the new one came out. If you went out a few months ago before they announced the directors cut, and decided to buy Ghosts, you were going to spend $60 for it, only to find out the additional content was going to cost you another $30.

Platinumed this beauty on PS4. Bought the Iki expansion on the release day for PS5 now that I have the console.
I haven't touched it. I bought because I love the game and support developers but I don't wanna start playing it yet, afraid once I'm done there's nothing left to play that match this beauty :(
Gentleman. I was waiting for of Your Before you Buy is really helpful for me for a lot of games. But I bought RIMS yesterday and it was not as expected. One more request of you mentions the version available of that particular game which you are doing Before you Buy (Ultimate Edition, Gold Edition, etc) it'll really help. If you post at least new games for PS5 it'll really helpful for everyone.
Only game I’ve ever put on the hardest difficulty and beat, enjoying every second of it. Absolute masterpiece.

This game is a masterpiece and the Directors Cut is where I started. Mechanics are awesome, the sword play is epic, and the backdrop and music is beautiful. Runs very well in 60fps and is smooth enough with beautiful colours and believable characters that have life in them. That guy that Jin is always saving (cant remember his name now) he's one funny dude man the voice actor for him has it down fr listening to his sob stories and his elaborate lies and exaggerations are funny as hell it reminds me of something straight out of Monkey Magic or something 😂😂. The fights are epic and when the music plays over the fights it really does have that Japanese feel to it. All in all if I was a game reviewer I would give this game a solid 10 out of 10 because I havent found one thing that's wilts my hard on for it yet.

My favorite single item in the expansion is the new armor inspired by a certain From game..... with lots of black feathers all over it. The armor of War is great too.

I remember getting chills the first time I used the ghost stance. Charging in and seeing the mongols run felt like a huge change of pace. Things like that are why I love this game

@@brndn3263 it took me around 2 weeks to complete which includes lots and lots of free roam and side quests and mythic tales i didn't want to rush the game and it was certainly worth it

I beat the base game last night, finishing all the question marks and then diving into dlc. This game is my absolute favorite, such a masterpiece
I had this pre ordered for PS4. I recently hopped back into BL1 and having fun with that so it'll be a bit before I get to this expansion, but I look forward to it. Also 100% the main game. Probably the best game on PS4 I played. (though doesn't quite make it to my #1 favorite)

I absolutely love this game, & Pretty Much everything about it. I think the only reason why players would have a problem (myself included) with the new locking system is that it wasn't there in the first place & we've gotten used to not having it. I only played about an hour or two into Iki Island, & already can't wait to 100% this island like I did with Tsushima.
Can’t wait to get my hands on the lock on though! In my eyes Ghost Of Tsushima was perfect in all but 2 ways. 1st was the lack of lock on. 2nd was the poor Japanese lip sync. Both now fixed! Couldn’t be happier.
LOVE your content Bro! Can totally relate to brushing up before diving back in. Hadn’t touched the game after 100% complete since 10/2020, and got messed up myself! Sucker Punch launched the Legends DLC for FREE, which I enjoyed like no tomorrow! So, I didn’t feel bad ponying up the extra $30 for my PS4 to PS5 version; WORTH EVERY PENNY! Also, I can’t be only one who thought of Mad Max (Battle Criers) when being first introduced with the Shamans!!!
This game is just 100% one of the best gaming experiences you could have in this day and age dude
Honestly as a streamer i love this game so much I've thought about doing my new game plus just can't decide if I want to do it on stream or not 🤣 the entire reason I got a PS was because of this game and the E3 presentation.
I completed PS4 version and wanted to start all over again (which I've never done with amy games before) but because I couldn't skip the cut-scenes, never did. Might try this one on PS5 I'm still 50/50 now.
Favorite part of iki was the auditory and visual hallucinations. It seems Jin is very troubled.

I just got it today for the ps5, it's my first time playing through the base game and my God the first hour alone is fantastic, brutal, and emotionally gripping. I can't wait to see where Jin's journey takes him

@@xmissviolencex Really? That's interesting. I didn't cry at all. I didn't get very emotionally invested in the story. The character development was lacking a bit in my opinion.
I always loved the samurai theme stuff, so I was really hyped for the game, but I gotta say it still exceeded my expectations... I played twice when it came out, and then my son was making his playthrough... but didn't want to explore, just do the main story, so I basically played the game for him...
Now I'm doing the 4th playthrough so I can jump into Iki island, and I still love the game, not bothered at all for being more GoT... It jumped on my favorite games ever list, along with BotW, The Witcher 3 and Tlou. I can just play them over and over again...
And it's the most beatifull game I've ever seen...
Horse was the perfect skill to add, whenever I am doing hunting missions for banners, flowers etc and of I get blocked by a group of fighters, I can just charge through and keep going

I love how much detail they put into the iki story.Better understanding with your father's history n they even gave ur horse some love. And just my thought, it also seems they've learned Jin's hallucinating poison which would be a cool consequence for straying from the path of a samurai. All that said I hate the animal sanctuary motion control tbh should of just used the touchpad.
Can't wait to see this ported to PC, hopefully before the end of the year

I rented the base game and loved it so much I had to buy the Directors Cut to support these amazing developers.
I ended up spending most of my time online in Legends mode. The 4-player coop on the hardest difficulty have us there for a whole hour. Never completed the campaign.
Busy working on getting that bleeding Legends skin with the arrows stuck in the body.
The Fast Travel load times are crazy in this version, surprised it wasnt brought up comparing to the original
Nothin' better for immersion than jumping into the sea and coming out dry as sand.

I’m still on PS4. I haven’t played this in a few months but it was soooo good seeing that I actually got the Iki island update without paying. It’s a small thing but really made my day
There were so many moments in the game where I would round a corner and come upon scenery that made me stop and take it in for a moment. This game has been one of my greatest experiences in gaming

Probably be a few more years but the chance are still low. Majority of Sony exclusives released on pc seems to be games that are more suited to pc which are third person shooters like uncharted and horizon

Yeah, definitely not paying half the cost of a full game for a 10-hour expansion. I could see buying it if it had been a free PS5 upgrade where I could go back and replay the original game and then move on to the expansion for maybe $20, but screw combining the two and not even letting you get the PS5 upgrade without buying the whole expansion. I'm not rewarding that with my money.
