A lot of people didn't like them last time cuz the game (sekiro) was obviously inaccurate and fantasy based. I hope this changes their opinion because I think they are pretty cool.
The problem with these games is that "cool" characters use really terrible and shitty guards and telegraphed, elaborate slashes. Not meant to be a realistic game, The slashes go through meat and bone quite easily without doing much visible or practical damage. I'm just disappointed, that yeah again even this gen a cool swordfighter does too fancy and elaborate to work techniques while enemies here seem to fail to match him even. If the enemy and friendly chars equally telegraph then it's kinda realistic, but these swings are ridiculously long
It's really hard to say that this is grounded in reality when it doesn't particularly go that hard. Urm KCD was amazingly realistic at sword combat which is a given, but I'm assuming cuz these guys deal with two handed Asian swordsmanship vs European combat in the middle ages it was different for them that way too.
I liked that bit where dude was like "you show respect as a warrior to your enemy regardless of what they've done, you never go in with hatred", to me that was beautiful, a mark of a real warrior and gentleman

I'm obsessed with this game right now it's been out for 2 years and I've just started this game. I love the scenes in this and the background so much to do.

3:00 the amount of detail is crazy if you slow the video down to .25 he actually does what the guy said and twist the sword to pull him back in. It happened so fast i think they missed it.
Twisting the sword (by which I think you mean rotating it around it's longest axis) still wouldn't make it grip like that, so it's kind of a moot point. He was saying you'd have to tilt the tip of the sword up, and pretty considerably, which it's clear Jin doesn't do. He pulls almost perfectly straight backwards.
Did anyone else think this game was gonna be supernatural? It seems like the "Ghost" aspect is just a ninja playstyle. But I thought the game was gonna be something like _"The Mongols invade your island, kill your people, your family in front of you, and then kill you. But you come back as a superpowered ninja."_ I thought that was gonna be the game...
The sword technique does exist, at least in Ninjutsu, where an opening, like the open chest or torso, is presented to the opponent to lure him to an attack.
I agree the reaction and analysis was excellent, but they're not taking into account context. Jin becomes more dishonorable throughout the story when he realises honor won't win the war.
@@gustavocampos1781 The Samurai culture isn't around anymore. It was both a caste and a rank. It's the same as something like a medieval knight. You can be descended from that lineage, but it doesn't necessarily make you one.

Gamology Is weird, I really like the idea, but they seem kinda lost, why choose old trailer when there’s a new in depth look on a game, plus it would result in longer videos
I get the impression that they take suggestions really well but doesn't do a lot of research on the game being suggested. That's why, for example, in the Escape From Tarkov video a lot of people complained they didn't show the experts the best gameplay around.
They said once in a comment before that they need permission to use footage from other poeple (YT, Streamers, Etc...). Maybe they don't go out to get permission from people and just give them free/stock footage from trailers or early releases? I'm not sure, but they really need to step it up.
@@rythewolf1505 I think a solution for that would be just to record gameplay themselves (except for unreleased games like this). I mean they're a gaming channel with some funding and staff so I presume they can afford to buy these games and record some gameplay. Or...just let the experts play the games.
There’s are some styles for specific enemy’s in the game and for a very big guy its like you turn your body right and for spearmen they have their stomach open for you to attack but you can dodge it pretty easily for me lol and for shieldmen you have your right arm up with your katana ready to strike from above or on the side, and for a enemy with a normal katana you have it your two arms on the katana ready to cut their stomachs open.
I think they will add more to the story. Because Khotun said when he died, " there will be more of us coming". And we might also meet Yuna and others again. The game talked quite a bit about the mainland. Maybe the dlc will expand the map to mainland. Maybe we have stories relating to the shogun. I wanna see all of the hidden mysteries so bad.

I unsubed from his channel when he started calling people that corrected his misstatements aviation nerds(not me but I did call out his douchebaggery), so take his videos with a grain of salt, and know that his attitude is atypical of most fighter pilots but very typical of F-16 pilots(I've known a few RL) they are the biggest pricks.
I can appreciate Gamology for changing it from "Real Samurais react..." to "Japanese Sword Experts react..." Small change but definitely welcomed, especially since they fixed it for the previous video. Good job, guys and gals at Gamology.
I wish they had gotten a chance to watch the different techniques, controlled by a player with a lot of experience with the game/style. There's plenty of videos, now, of certain players displaying flawless shonen, samurai, etc combat. Rather than someone that's just playing it like a general videogame combat system. I feel like these guys would thoroughly enjoy that.
I find it interesting that their main issue was with the stances the player was using, whereas the stances the opponents used were good. I’m wondering if the player was just using the wrong stance? Because you can change your stances in that game

And I really hate the fact that they included any video of Jin fighting Masako, as it's a major foooooooooking spoiler for those of us not that far in the game.
The stances from the npcs are really good and fluid I agree the user character is choppy and open. Nioh did an amazing job with stances, standing wide when in over head stance closed when In mid then stiff when in low stance. They still have time to tweek the animations for the ps5 and I really hope they do. But otherwise I'm still buying I like it.
The protagonist also isn’t necessarily fighting in a traditional or honorable way, as he trades honor for advantages in stealth, trickery, etc throughout his character arc. He struggles with his first stealth kill as it is not honorable, the game puts a lot of stress on that. The same can be said of his stances, he is willing to abandon what is “correct” to employ that which is unfamiliar to the enemy. Just as the mongols in the game are not prepared for a samurai who cares nothing of honor and will make sticky bombs and poison darts and light their respected katana on fire using oil, they are not prepared for his risky and questionable form. The original first stance set you unlock in the game is similar to the npc duelist seen in the video, but you learn 3 more stance techniques by observing enemy chieftains (who are definitely not Japanese).
0:39 Another thing about this first part is how the guy comes running in. You see him come with his arm flailing in the air, they do huge overhead swings like this in movies because it looks cool. But by doing this you leave your entire body open. And you see the flailing guy get absolutely destroyed for it.
@6:23 I’m glad he corrects the other guy. Tameshigiri (試し斬り) is cutting straw mats to test both how sharp the sword is and how effective the swordsman is at actually cutting. Kenjutsu (剣術) is an overall term for Japanese swordsmanship. As someone who practices a Japanese sword art the bar for realistic swordsmanship is the PS1 game Bushido Blade. There is a project in the works called Hatashiai which looks very promising. Hopefully the developers actually finish it.

It's cool to see experts react to the actual fighting styles that are more accurate. Sekiro was a great game, but it's not realistic. Clearly they noticed that before. Now they can see actual real fighting styles, while not completely realistic, it is cool to see the fighting style actually get a good amount of attention.

I get the impression that they take suggestions really well but doesn't do a lot of research on the game being suggested. That's why, for example, in the Escape From Tarkov video a lot of people complained they didn't show the experts the best gameplay around.
They said once in a comment before that they need permission to use footage from other poeple (YT, Streamers, Etc...). Maybe they don't go out to get permission from people and just give them free/stock footage from trailers or early releases? I'm not sure, but they really need to step it up.

@@rythewolf1505 I think a solution for that would be just to record gameplay themselves (except for unreleased games like this). I mean they're a gaming channel with some funding and staff so I presume they can afford to buy these games and record some gameplay. Or...just let the experts play the games.
There’s are some styles for specific enemy’s in the game and for a very big guy its like you turn your body right and for spearmen they have their stomach open for you to attack but you can dodge it pretty easily for me lol and for shieldmen you have your right arm up with your katana ready to strike from above or on the side, and for a enemy with a normal katana you have it your two arms on the katana ready to cut their stomachs open.
I think they will add more to the story. Because Khotun said when he died, " there will be more of us coming". And we might also meet Yuna and others again. The game talked quite a bit about the mainland. Maybe the dlc will expand the map to mainland. Maybe we have stories relating to the shogun. I wanna see all of the hidden mysteries so bad.
I think him mentioning that more will come was An allusion to the real life second mongol invasion of Japan.

I can appreciate Gamology for changing it from "Real Samurais react..." to "Japanese Sword Experts react..." Small change but definitely welcomed, especially since they fixed it for the previous video. Good job, guys and gals at Gamology.
I wish they had gotten a chance to watch the different techniques, controlled by a player with a lot of experience with the game/style.
There's plenty of videos, now, of certain players displaying flawless shonen, samurai, etc combat. Rather than someone that's just playing it like a general videogame combat system.

The stances from the npcs are really good and fluid I agree the user character is choppy and open. Nioh did an amazing job with stances, standing wide when in over head stance closed when In mid then stiff when in low stance. They still have time to tweek the animations for the ps5 and I really hope they do. But otherwise I'm still buying I like it.
The protagonist also isn’t necessarily fighting in a traditional or honorable way, as he trades honor for advantages in stealth, trickery, etc throughout his character arc. He struggles with his first stealth kill as it is not honorable, the game puts a lot of stress on that. The same can be said of his stances, he is willing to abandon what is “correct” to employ that which is unfamiliar to the enemy. Just as the mongols in the game are not prepared for a samurai who cares nothing of honor and will make sticky bombs and poison darts and light their respected katana on fire using oil, they are not prepared for his risky and questionable form. The original first stance set you unlock in the game is similar to the npc duelist seen in the video, but you learn 3 more stance techniques by observing enemy chieftains (who are definitely not Japanese).

@6:23 I’m glad he corrects the other guy. Tameshigiri (試し斬り) is cutting straw mats to test both how sharp the sword is and how effective the swordsman is at actually cutting. Kenjutsu (剣術) is an overall term for Japanese swordsmanship.
As someone who practices a Japanese sword art the bar for realistic swordsmanship is the PS1 game Bushido Blade. There is a project in the works called Hatashiai which looks very promising. Hopefully the developers actually finish it.

It's cool to see experts react to the actual fighting styles that are more accurate. Sekiro was a great game, but it's not realistic. Clearly they noticed that before. Now they can see actual real fighting styles, while not completely realistic, it is cool to see the fighting style actually get a good amount of attention.
