Although this is a very old video and techniques have changed somewhat it still works. In fact this works better than it did because the technology has improved.

Well... I've tried it and my ADR became really strange and glitching. What is wrong?

It could be any number of things, but sometimes you can stretch the dialogue too far and it gets a little nasty sounding. There's a fine line between perfect and unusable so the best practice of course is to start with re-recorded material that is close to the original. Also make sure your Elastic settings are set to Monophonic and when you have it set how you like it, switch the Elastic Audio option from Real Time to Rendered. Another thing to try would be to cut up your dialogue into smaller sections say into sentences and manually line them up before you start working with elastic time, so that longer files don't end up getting processed. Lastly, increasing your buffer size can help if your computer starts to choke on the processing when you have lots of tracks plus video.
I have run into situations where using a lot of elastic time edits results in horrible glitchy whiny noise, even if they aren't really stretching a lot of audio. In those situations, I have saved a new session file, saved a copy of the current session file, trashed my pro tools preferences, or consolidated all the tracks I am done working on and disabling elastic time on those tracks. My computer has a lot of guts and hasn't ever been bogged down processing Elastic Time but I think there's a problem in the software. It's been a long time since I've done it this way, I bought Synchro Arts Vocalign and am very happy with it. It's expensive but it saves me so much time I can justify it. Not everyone can though, so that's why I shared the way I used to do it with this video.
      Good luck!
