  • @andreasvenator
    @andreasvenator 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I learned in my youth that the redline on the tachs were originally set as follows: 4500 RPM for the 1.6 Liter "Normals" (60 hp), 5000 RPM for the Supers (75 hps) and 5500 for the Super 90s (90 hp). Miss Eva therefore is a Normal (Born that Way) and will likely have the original cylinder head hardware which is not made for the higher revs. The Normals are more challenging to drive since you have to run at least at 3000 RPM to have the necessary oil preassur and not surpass 4500 RPM due to the less finessed cam shaft and rocker hardware. Most of the Normals went to the USA by the way. A big bore kit will kill a Normal unless the cylinder head is bored out (piston slap!)

    • @HeidiandFranny
      @HeidiandFranny  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct! I would add that the Normals are a tad more torque down low so arguably easier to drive in traffic and easier to get off the line (probably splitting hairs). It can be challenging to match the revs and the gearing in some instances - like up steep hills and such. You either go 25 or 45, but 35? not so much... It is something I really like about that car actually :) Talk about being connected!

    Hi Franny. I have a 356SC myself and I think these videos are great. unfortunately the CU Later rear LED's don't fit my European spec car. The interior high level brake light looks good though. Do you know who makes it?

    • @HeidiandFranny
      @HeidiandFranny  4 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @jimsimpson2478
      @jimsimpson2478 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HeidiandFranny I believe the tail lights are original Euro spec items. Unfortunately the CU Layer doesn't fit all Euro spec cars. There is a warning to this effect on the CU Layer website.
