    Quick tip here : Instead of doing 5 frames at a time, do the first and last frame, and then, put a keyframe in the middle of the shot. It should follow pretty roughly, then, you can go in the middle of two keyframe and adjust everytime it splits. It makes for a less jittery tracking and can save you keyframes that are not necessary.
    That was a great way to do it though. I still don't understand why there is no real tracking module in Premiere. Resolve is way ahead of the curve here and has been for the last 10 years.

    Very interesting and smart way to do motion tracking in Premiere Pro. Yet, not the easiest way...
    I still wonder, why adobe doesn't add a true tracking tool in PP, like the powerful one in AE. It would so much simpler.
    And considering the fact, that tracking already exists as a tool in every effect we ad on any layer...
    Adobe's point of view is still a deep mystery !!
    BTW, thanks a lot for this tut ;)

    • @Envato_Tom
      @Envato_Tom ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Adobe's POV is truly a mystery! I assume they just want people to have a need for AE hence not bringing a true tracking tool into PP, but who knows! Until then we'll all just have to keep finding funky workarounds!

    • @Envato_Tom
      @Envato_Tom ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah it's pretty wild that they haven't bought some of the basic tools like motion tracking over from After Effects. I will say though, learning AE as a complement to your editing work in Premiere is a skill that is only going to increase your abilities and options. It's a bit of a beast but I'd definitely suggest investing the time. It's a little old now but AE really hasn't had any major updates in years so it's still very relevant - check out this course by the excellent Dave Bode! th-cam.com/video/PWvPbGWVRrU/w-d-xo.html

    • @envatotuts
      @envatotuts  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi! Yeah, it can be surprising transitioning from FCP to Premiere Pro. While Premiere Pro doesn’t have built-in auto tracking like FCP, using After Effects for that feature is a common workaround. It might take some getting used to, but once you get the hang of it, it opens up some great possibilities! Cheers!

  • @intelligrc

    I wonder why you can't just select the object and move it with the arrow tool which SHOULD automatically update the X and Y parameters but does not. Just another one of the mind-blowing issues with Premiere that greatly affect productivity.

    • @eddiemac114
      @eddiemac114 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I haven't had luck with the arrow keys but you can select the object and just move that around using the cursor and it will update the positional keyframes. Then you just play the video another frame or 20 then move it again....and it will update automatically. It's crazy to drag the position XY sliders to move the object in place to set key frames. BTW Make sure your clip is selected in the timeline AND you select the 'Position' effect in the Effect Controls window before moving your object or it won't work. This will activate the clip in the Program monitor for motion adjustments. (or just use AE ;0) haha)

      Hi!
      It sounds like the issue might be related to the placement of your keyframes. Make sure you're adjusting the motion path across multiple keyframes, not just one, to create smoother corrections. You can also try deleting unnecessary keyframes or refining the motion path manually to stop the "bobbing."
