I like to think of bII-dim7 as a rootless VI-7b9. Dim7 and maj7 voicings are so handy on guitar because you can replace just about every chord in a progression with one or the other.

I'm a little bit confused. The chord progressions you show us are in c major? Do they work in a minor key as i tried to do it but it sounded so off. Do the chord progressions only work in major? For instance i tried the just the two of use one and it worked in d major but not d minor
You need to use relative minor key. In the case of C Major, you need to use A minor. www.simplifyingtheory.com/relative-minor-scale-major-chords/
いいです!日本語に勉強します。
very good! i'm currently studying japanese, so if i made any mistakes then please let me know.
i was wondering, how popular is "just the two of us" in japan? it seems that it uses very similar chords to quite a bit of japanese songs.
コメントありがとう😊嬉しいです。
Thank you for your comment! I appreciate your nice words! The progression is very popular and known as Marunouchi progression (Ringo Sheena song)! Probably that song is much more popular in Japan than Just The Two Of Us.
Just The Two Of Us is not very well known in Japan. People don’t know the song unless they’re musicians.
