This man needs an award... well done, thorough explanation that didn't want to make me fall asleep. This will really help me on my math tests/exams. Many thanks!
OMG, THANK YOU!!! I knew nothing of logs and you simplified so well. Our regular classes turned into online classes because of the virus and I was almost in tears. The videos we had to watch did not explain it this way. It just said memorize.Thank you!
why in the world you weren't my teacher at school.....i love this guy could he be the best math teacher in the world....im in 2018 and this guy from 2014 helping me more than anything....thank you so much..............
A good way to check complicated logs (like x = 199/95) is to calculate the left side of the equation and then divide by the right side of the equation. If they are equal (as they should be) , then the answer will be 1. Be careful, you might have to use many parenthesis while plugging in the equation.
You took a much more time lengthy approach during 11:31, when you were left with ln x = ln (4x + 5)^1/2 you could've divided both sides by ln and canceled them out. Then you could've simply solved from there.
Thank you, I need algebra or any math to be worked out step by step and explained why everything was done... this is helping my wrap my head around logarithms.. all the symbols and powers make my brain panic before I can even solve it.
4:45 If when you add logs you multiply the subject, shouldn't that equation work? Multiplying -1 and -4 should give you a positive 4. This leaves you with log base 2 of 4 which, as established, equals 2 thus allowing X to be both 4 and -1.
He's making me pay attention at least. His face feels like home. I love him. My passion came fast but it is founded in puns and his understanding of logarithmic equations.
If you are unfamiliar with the quadratic formula, then you can use completing the square, factor method, and square root method to solve. In all honesty if you know those 3 you should know the quad by heart.
I love your math vids. I am an old timer catching myself up on math. I would like to see you work vsome practical appllication problems in engineering, chemistry, physics...biology. Both regular and natural logs. Please consider it. Thank you.
Just play some techno or retro background music and this video feels like the a tutorial from the 80s-90s~ Thanks man this was definitely helpful. If I were to tell you something, it would be that a *log is an exponent*!
Studying for finals right now and I knew everything but this and solving exponential equations because I forgot them this was so useful I'm answering practice questions right before my final next class
When solving logarithmic equations, I the find the domain of each problem first before I solve. That way if a solution(s) I obtain does not fulfill the domain restriction, I can throw them out, The only solution(s) I can keep are those that fulfill the domain restrictions AND works in the ORIGINAL EQUATION.
You just made me get a 95 on my math test and now everyone’s mad at me cause it was going to be graded as a curve, but I don’t care thank you so damn much dude
+apiz zudin I know right? I thought I was the only one who caught that. Now I'm questioning rather he made a mistake, or if the X remains positive (which seems wrong).

This guy is the best, Even tho this was posted on 2014 it looks like 2003 ,,,guess the older the video looks the mroe helpful
when it comes to math it seems like it
thats funny that 2003 was old for you haha I figured this was the 90's

I wonder how students learned math back in the days when there was no access to youtube only tradtional textbooks and lectures. Thanks prof. ♥️

oh my god!!!!! you are unbelievable, how could you make it so simple?! thank you a lot, you don't know how did you help me
This looks like its from 2002 but damn this guy is good at teaching
The teaching was so great, At least I was able to gain an idea from you people. God bless your

You dont wanna check the answer cos you cant be arsed

the way his voice cracked 0:20 "What about ..." lmao.
Marry me this term exam.
Really helpful, the tutor is cool, in a quirky way but he makes the math simple and fun.
@4:51 But wait... Since the bases are the same, can't you multiply -1 by -4 to get the 4 given in your Quadratic function?
I Thank God for you people, That I was able to come in contact with your. At least I gain an idea from the teaching.

Thank u.. you just make math easier for me
i love math because of you .. thank you sir
But -1 does work tho for log2X+log2(X-3)=2 ... it still comes back as 2^2
log2 -1(-1-3)=2
= log2 1+3=2
= log2 4=2
= 2^2=4
I agree. Also could not understand why both values are not valid
you're the best sir.
Because of youe simplest explanations, i lots from logs
Thanks
This video just made my study so easier and interesting. Thank you very much. this video was really helpful.
This is old but still helping

Wait- if the exponent or coefficient is odd- can you safely discard negative outcomes? I.e. "X=-2" btw, great energy & clarity.
thanks for actually explaining math easily
how would you do the last one if the exponent was not 0, not making the value 1?

This guy made it more easier than our professor did 😂😂

@7:51 Answer is 2. ☑️
ok but at 3:16 , dont you have a restriction of x cant be less than 3 ? If so then your only answer should be x= 4
Thanks man. You are amazingly talented.
Gotta love that mama log! Thanks for the lesson.
6:41 me to my teacher when i lowkey know the answer
you really are a great teacher❤❤
in the third logarithmic equation why did he take the natural log of x and divid the stuff on the left by just x and not log x?
You just made me get a 95 on my math test and now everyone’s mad at me cause it was going to be graded as a curve, but I don’t care thank you so damn much dude
hi... when we move the X2 its suppose to be negative right? why its still positive? in the minute 12:06.
+apiz zudin I know right? I thought I was the only one who caught that. Now I'm questioning rather he made a mistake, or if the X remains positive (which seems wrong).
+Robin San Pedro maybe he modules mean he change the negative to positive
he moved the 4x+5 to the other side so it becomes -4x-5
+Ian Simon owhhh I see
This will help me alot this coming finals. thanks sir.
Hi, sorry to bother you but what do you do when you x two logs together
This is fantastic. The only problem is I have no idea how to check the x=5 in the last example.
You ignited a spark, thanks!
Very useful video on logarithm. Thanks very much sir.
