I'm 50 years old and just starting college. I have looked all over the internet for help with logarithms and natural logarithms. I just wasn't getting logarithms. YOU DID IT. You explained it so this old brain FINALLY figured out what I was doing. THANK YOU
An EXCELLENT video/tutorial which explains natural logs extremely well! They are a part of my Higher mathematics course which I couldn't get my head around for a long time, you have cracked the code! Thanks from Scotland :)
I had spent around 2 hours trying to work out a log equation, out of desperation I came onto youtube, luckily I found your video and have now solved the equation because of what I learned here! thank you so much :) keep those arrows POPPING!! :)
i never understood how the numerator would remain the same while the denominator would somehow get to the other side of the equation on most videos until you explained it at 8:52. no one ever mentioned cross multiplying in situations like these which always stopped me from finishing up certain logarithmic problems. THANK YOU so much i really appreciate it!
Fort Bend Tutoring btw, for number 7 I got the answer 6 with a different method, I chose to isolate x by moving 2 over to the other side and directly added it to 4. Is this also a good way to answer this question? Because I never really understood why you added 2 to both sides. It seems like things like that are done to skip certain steps I guess but I wasn't 100% sure on that. I hope you could reply soon. :)
+Yassin Gurhan The difference is that I'm using the addition property of equality to isolate the variable and your process is a shortcut. It's you and your teacher's preference, however, my process shows why the move is made and not just the result.
reviewing stuff I should know after years away from Math and jumping back into Calc II and you got me to where I needed to be, you can cross out the log with the same base :D. Thanks for the comment- oh also thasks for the vid ;)
Thanks for the video. I'm writing test on natural logs tomorrow and this is by far the best video tutorial I've come across. Thank you for the hard work and I'll definitly put the word out and subscribe!
The Best Video by far on how to do these types of problems ive been having so much trouble on how to do this and been having a lot of late night studies but when i saw this video it makes it so much simpler Thank You for the video! Please go on teaching your method is amazing!
I love how smooth you presentations are. May I ask what software you are using and which is you favorite stylus. Too smooth. calming AND math combined, who new this could happen in this universe. I love your videos ..great job!
I also loved the intro, but the instructions are also stellar! I am very much helped by this. I am an older student who does NOT remember this stuff from 20+ years ago. By the end of this 20+ minute video, I could do the last two in this video (which at the beginning would have been totally impossible) without any help. Definitely "on point". :)
Very nice explanations. Logarithms and exponents are always a bit challenging until you get the hang of them and these videos are a great way to do just that!
@@FortBendTutoring very friendly and approachable style of tutoring. Glad that TH-cam dug them up for me even though the videos are several years old. Just remember that a classic only gets better with time. Plus, the lady who introduces each one reminds me of a teacher I had years ago in my program of Early Childhood Education. She was the best! Only later did i do a Master's degree in Computer Science, which explains my interest in mathematics. Now at 70 years old i am reviewing so much of it to make sure I don't forget. Your videos are great for doing that. Kudos!
Thanks for making me to understand the Natural Logarithms. This has actually been difficult to understand but with this video it helps me understand pretty well. I think i can challenge any Natural Logarithmic equation base on this interesting video. Thanks.
Thank you for your help Mr. Whitt! Awesome videos. I have a few questions on examples #7&8. Could you use the Quotient rule? If so, would the answer be the same? Thanks again for you help! Mahalo, from Hawaii.
Hlo,I really appreciate this but what confused d me is that they say e=2.718845 so how can we know that its less than 3? Pls can any one shade more light
why is it that x=2\e^5 becomes x=1/2e^5. how is it became like that? well, maybe I missed some of the method. can you explain to me how? so that I can recall
Subtract the ln(19), then combine the natural logs into one term. It should be simpler to convert in that form. There are examples of this process in this video.

Here's some helpful timestamps 4 this [fbt] logarithm video!
[fbt] Video Timestamps
01:06 [1] 3ln(x) = 9
04:01 [2] ln(2x) = 5
05:20 [3] ln(x) + ln(x²) = 3
07:15 [4] ln𝒆ˡⁿˣ - ln(x-3) = ln(2)
09:55 [5] ln(5-x) - ln(-3-x) = ln(1-8x)
16:40 [6] ln(5+4x) - ln(3+x) = ln(3)
18:24 [7] ln𝒆ˣ - 2ln𝒆 = ln𝒆⁴
20:14 [8] ln𝒆ˣ - ln𝒆³ = ln𝒆³
Peace,

ty!! just one question: what did u put on your pen (that plastic thing) that writes smoothly on your tablet. Also which app did u use ur notebook on?

Do you have a video on conic sections and graphing them? I am having difficulties with conic sections and graphing them.
The only one posted at this time is graphing vertical parabolas. Here's the link: th-cam.com/video/jTLuHxxXY_g/w-d-xo.html

In an equation that states ln(c) = ln 19-0.46t , Solve for c as a function of t. How can I rewrite that in exponential form?
Subtract the ln(19), then combine the natural logs into one term. It should be simpler to convert in that form. There are examples of this process in this video.
Thanks! Yah I was skipping around the vid too much, but I got it, so c= 19/e^.46t
We have c = 19e^(-.46t).
Right, i put that first, i guess because of the - .46t the MEL wanted a positive version which altered to 19 x 1/e^.46t
Both are correct. We missed the fact that you had a denominator with e^.46t, not e^-.46t. Happy to help!
Wow this was amazing . thank so much
I knew most of this but your very mesmerizing (can you say that?) to listen to :P
Lol! Thanks!
