As a person from WB I would like to clarify something. Her base is mainly homemakers and lower class people, not youngsters, who don't like her thanks to less industrialization. It's not the slightiest on language, even her sidekick has Bihar ethnicity. BJP instead of trying middle class they went for subalternism to woo tribals only ending up in winning votes mainly from middle class men only. When Mamta first became CM, everyone had high hopes for her, as she ended the political monopolization of CPM in WB, that too ,she being a single woman, and CPM was in power for 25 years. She also had an image of a very simple person. It was said that she only wore a thin bangle, plain sarees, chappal and lived in a simple hut. But then people slowly started realising that she's pretty much useless, but still she kept winning, partially because of muslim support(and probably many illegal immigrants) and partially because of her fake promises(which not many people believe today, but still). Mamta is a pretty good orator . But this time, she won by almost 50% only . This shows that BJP has a good chance of winning in bengal next time, her schemes aren't working much. That's why TMC went so violent after the polls. But the main hindrance for BJP imo is the Muslim people in WB.

As a person from WB I would like to clarify something. Her base is mainly homemakers and lower class people, not youngsters, who don't like her thanks to less industrialization. Her speeches are meme material for us also, though it's actually the perfect for her base. Also WB regional politics is way different from other regional politics. It's not the slightiest on language, even her sidekick has Bihar ethnicity. BJP instead of trying middle class they went for subalternism to woo tribals only ending up in winning votes mainly from middle class men only. When Mamta first became CM, everyone had high hopes for her, as she ended the political monopolization of CPM in WB, that too ,she being a single woman, and CPM was in power for 25 years. She also had an image of a very simple person. It was said that she only wore a thin bangle, plain sarees, chappal and lived in a simple hut. But then people slowly started realising that she's pretty much useless, but still she kept winning, partially because of muslim support(and probably many illegal immigrants) and partially because of her fake promises(which not many people believe today, but still). Mamta is a pretty good orator . But this time, she won by almost 50% only . This shows that BJP has a good chance of winning in bengal next time, her schemes aren't working much. That's why TMC went so violent after the polls. But the main hindrance for BJP imo is the Muslim people in WB.
