    Quick note to any new players seeing this, a house rule that can improve the game experience is to deal two characters to everyone instead of one, and let them decide which one to keep. Not all characters are created equal, and this stops players from getting frustrated that they got an unfun character for the 10th time.
    Also, I recommend starting with starting items deactivated. Some starting items can give players NOT going first a distinct advantage, so leaving them deactivated to start just evens the playing field a little
    Final house rule I recommend is to deal character cards before revealing any other cards, just so nobody picks a character just because they see an easy soul with a certain character or w/e
    As a last note, you don't need to say priority pass and go around the table whenever you do something, which is kind of implied in this video. After someone does something, just wait a moment to see if anyone wants to react before doing it.

    • @roybooy
      @roybooy ปีที่แล้ว +7

      For the second house rule you mention, the rules themself state that all items and characters at the beginning of the game, besides the first player, should remain deactivated until it's their turn, so no worries having to implement a house rule for those scenarios.

    This video skips a few priority passes, like when you decide on buying something. Priority also passes before you decide what monster to fight. I usually tell people I play with that "Priority passes when you say - I will buy, or, I will fight". I found that to be the easiest way of explaining it. And I explain the stack like a gun's magazine, you load it with ammo and the gun goes off once all have had their turn loading it.

    I am confused about this stack and priority thing. So with everything you do, you will have to go around the table and other people can play during your turn?

    • @theozuretti6091
      @theozuretti6091 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Once their turn starts, people can play up to 2 loot cards until it's their turn again. So they can wait for the right moment to use them.
      Let's use an example. You are about to kill a monster, you just rolled 6 and you're both on 1 HP. Another player who saved his loot cards during his turn by not playing them can play the bomb card on you, killing you and preventing you from slaying the boss. That's how the stack works, the last action announced resolves first. Thus, your attack doesn't resolve since you die so your turn ends, unless you add something to the stack like a shield.

    • @Flo-zj9tg
      @Flo-zj9tg ปีที่แล้ว +1

      To put it more simply. The stack is metaphorical. All it means is the last action is resolved first and the first action is resolved last. And other players can only react when an action says that they can

    How do you guys normally resolve multiple event cards coming from the monster deck?
    So, let's say I kill Bloat, and when I reveal a monster card, I get a curse. Do I give the curse to someone and draw another monster? What if I get 3 curses in a row?

    • @playingbadLP
      @playingbadLP ปีที่แล้ว +8

      yes, curses and chests are resolved and you draw again until there's a monster in every monster slot.

    The concept of a "Loot Play" isn't discussed here, and it was the primary thing that confused my friends and I and has ultimately soured our opinion. It's hard to interact with players when you really are never allowed to without significant effort, and the mechanic is not explained well with seemingly no way to increase "Loot Plays".

      (traducido con una app)
      Si quieres puedes pedir a otro jugador que active un objeto o efecto para ayudarte a cambio de dinero. Por ejemplo: estás luchando contra un monstruo y sacas un 3, que te mataría. Otro jugador tiene un D6, puedes pedirle que lo active para volver a tirar tus dados y le ofreces 5 céntimos. Puede que acepte, coja el dinero y vuelva a tirar tus dados (o te traicione y te deje morir). Puedes pedir cualquier tipo de favor siempre que sólo ofrezcas dinero a cambio. Espero que haya quedado claro y que la traducción haya sido suficientemente buena.

      All it is is just making sure everyone knows what you're doing and making sure they each have a chance to respond. You don't have to actually go around to each person and remind them they have priority. Just remember that everyone should get a chance to play items/loot cards in response to any action
