Why All for One Needs Shigaraki’s Body to Steal One for All from Deku

Ever since All for One stole Eri’s Rewind quirk using the Doctor’s help, many of you have commented asking what he needs Shigaraki’s body anymore if he has such a broken ability, so here’s why. During the Vigilante Deku Arc in My Hero Academia Season 6, we saw the secret of One for All and All for One being spread to the heroes, and Hawks finally starting to understand why everything is happening the way that it is, uses his really sharp mind and intuition to figure out something about the Villain, and that, is that All for One has no heart. Inside of his chest i’m sure he does have a physical heart pumping his blood, but something about the man is broken, different from other people, and because of this Hawks believes that All for One can’t actually hate anyone, asking if a human has hate for an ant when it crushes it. When you pair this with the fact that that to steal One for All, All for One created a villain who hates the entire world but ESPECIALLY One for All, it paints the picture that he needs to steal Shigaraki’s body, because he needs the body of someone with enough hate towards One for All to fuel his quirk to a point where he can steal it, but it also helps that if he doesn’t steal Shigaraki’s body he’s going to rewind until he’s a baby.

Ok, to clarify. All for One didn't steal Eri's quirk. What he did was alter the quirk erasing bullet into a Rewinding Bullet to give himself conditional invulnerability.

Tbh, I kind of love how many random schemes AFO has as backups. I know a lot of people see them as "asspulls," and while I agree they could have been established better, AFO having a bunch of minor schemes that he uses to back up his previous schemes has to be the the most in-character thing for him.
Yeah i wouldnt agree its ass pulls as literally every single time we've seen him hes had plots within plots within plots and countermeasures. Its like he told Endeavor "Did you really think i would step out onto the stage without a few aces up ny sleeve?"

@@CodeeXD In a lot of ways he really feels like an homage/deconstruction of the emperor palpatine-type characters who are unapologetically sinister and set up their plans like chess sets. It’s a great contrast to Shigaraki and the others’ homages/deconstructions of the more tragic “takes one bad day” type-villains.

Wouldnt even be surprised if he let the Doctor create a second Copy of his Quirk/Personality in case he doesnt make it in Time, so he can at least take over some Nomu to not actually die. Would explain why he pulled such a High risk low reward maneuver.
Okay now I REALLY love this villain concept; a villain that has to juggle the pros and cons of stealing powers.

@@db5094 Exactly. He even says that using the ability is a last ditch act since Endeavor injured him so severely, and he can't completely control rewind. AFO is on a countdown. He *needs* Shigaraki's body now, or else.

Imagine if he got a permanent Quirk-erasing Quirk from Eri's bullets. That will also be pretty powerful.

I think in terms of feeling nothing besides what enjoyment he gets from hurting people.
I think because of how long he's lived he can't hold onto again for long as with age he's grown emotionally dead.
Tho it also I think it's due to the quirk belonging to his little bro as it's shown that while AFO is evil he does love his family such as when he gave his bro a quirk to save him and later how he cried due to him being killed.
And due to him having scene the vestage of his bro in OFA hosts he knows he's still in there so he can't fully have the hate for him.

I think he wants a new body so he can live forever, as long as he can pass his quirk, his ego can take over and be immortal. That’s why Stars and Stripes’ quirk went crazy, he couldn’t stop it from rampaging so he passed it to somebody else.

he didn’t, actually. Eri still has her quirk. AFO just reverse engineered it.
Its obvious why he wants Shigaraki, particularly the Decay quirk. Its to counteract the uncontrolled Rewind quirk that he artificially obtained. Running Decay and Rewind simultaneously cancels each others downsides in addition with the body primed and condition to house both quirks and the mind to manipulate both. He can Rewind to his prime and use Decay as a retainer for him to stay in that form, basically making him immortal in peak condition. He trying to achieve what Deku+Eri condition vs Overhaul; with Deku in perpetual "decay" with the damage he sustains with using 100% OFA while Eri "Rewinds" constantly his body before getting damaged.
decay won't work since the user gains natural immunity to it. That is why Shigaraki doesn't accidently turn himself to dust

@Ch4rlz_the_Princ3 Overhaul doesn't but Prime All does. Also the only thing that's holding Prime All from winning is over using his power and getting younger and younger everytime he does until he is gone.
Now Overhauls powers would prevent that by remaking himself in an older state.
Mixing both powers together.

@@BIGFRANKOL75 Overhaul is an immensely complex quirk. OFA purposefully uses hundreds of simple weak quirks instead of a few complex op quirks because strong quirks have a huge learning curve to them. Overhaul is simply too hard learn to use, so he doesn’t bother with it.

Yet he plans and manipulates so many others and other things just to get an even more complicated quirk, One for All?

I thought i was because how quirk singularity theory works he needed to jump bodies to get back to his prime. As an old gen, AFO's body just can't handle as many modern quirks as old ones, so he needs a body from the new generation to keep his quirk from being rendered obsolete

I'm pretty sure the manga directly states that his rewind is killing him and that's why he used it as a last resort but it's been a few months since I read the chapter

He's trying to steal his body because he's going to rewind until death, he didn't steal eri's quirk the doctor made a better version of the quirk erasing bullet that can rewind people, but it doesn't stop it just rewinds you to death, so he's gotta make it to shigaraki before he dies, hawks basically told everyone that he's at his prime but he's on a time limit. So they're all just human shielding to try and waste his time.

Literally every problem in this entire series is solved if the government just executes people who deserve it. If you have to trade the worlds strongest hero just to get all for one in a cell, while he laughs at you for doing so it’s probably not the safest plan. Then not even a year later he proceeds to easily break out after he told you he would. That should be a huge wake up call for the dudes running that society but nah they manage to capture the doctor as well, the dude responsible all the bonus and they inexplicably keep this guy alive just so he can break out later. The hero society honestly deserves to be crushed, it’s just natural selection at this point.

My question is, if all for one is shot, and he can't remove the bullet(s), would he be unable to heal properly?
For example, he could get shot in one of his eyes, would the quirk heal the eye, but the bullet would still be in the eye because the quirk can only rewind living organisms
