I'm really jealous of all these amazing sedans coming out in China while my country is becoming so obsessed with crossovers and SUVs that car manufacturers aren't bothering even launching their sedans here.
Hoping to see more insights on battery swapping utilization in China, it is just such a completely different approach to eradicating range anxiety than offerings in any other markets.
Hilarious that it began this year as one of the most anticipated and complete packages on the market, yet was almost completely eclipsed by the SU7. Maybe it will find more appreciation on the international market, before the SU7 begins selling overseas...
Great recap. With so much stuff coming out of China, we needed the recap as well. Looking forward to the top 5 SUV video you are no doubt going to follow up with.
Great video Ethan. I'll be joining you in April for the Wheelsboy Shanghai tour. I thought Zeekr might be prominent in your list. I'm working out a list of my favorites cars to drive in April. See you then. Ken.
The fact Canada put a 100% tariff on Chinese BEV imports is disgusting and counter productive to so many things including cleaning up the air, especially when you see this list of all the cars you should be able to buy but can't...
Except the Mona I agree with the list. Especially when coming to the Z9 GT. I want to add that the Zeeker 007 also qualify for a sedan. My personal request is a list of all the Chinese 4 wheels drive best electric car for off road.
Yes it looks very ugly, but there is a reason Xpeng can barely keep up with demand for the Mona. The value proposition is just too strong for that one. No other car at that equivalent 17k USD price range can offer its level of software (including optional assisted driving tech), efficency, and it is also a more useful liftback to boot.
I hope Denza z9 comes to Australia...and I hope I can afford it! For me, it's the best package in terms of design...it has a proper interior and not a screen slapped onto a bench and the exterior is nice too!
Can you guys make a video where you talk about the 5 or 10 quickest 0-100 kmh or even 1/4 mile (maybe you can find on chinese youtube the sources) Chinese cars and suvs, please? I'd love that video. Thanks, happy new year
Wheelsboy must be the best channel which covers most of good looking good performing Chinese EVs. If this channel will not hit 1 million subscribers at the end of 2025, I will be really pissed off 😒
Well I want to thank you for replying to my instagram message. Because of your suggestion I ordered the Xioami su7 and it should arrive to Dubai in 2 days. Looking forward next year to your review of the YU7.
I agree. Since I got my SU7 it’s the best car under 50k usd money can buy. With amazing tech and they have very frequent OTA and the car is getting better and better everyday
Hi, You can say that I was once one of thosr sceptics when I saw a Chinese car, I would turn away, lets be honest some were lousy, some were like a barge and others down right copycats, but fast forward 2023-2024 and Im loving what I see. Really, but just one thing, do these cars come in right hand drive form, because if they do and if those Chinese companies can ship them here I would gladly love to buy one especially that Xiaomi SU7, I love it.
reminds me of the negative content of the SU7 during its launch. but no, Xiaomi pulled it off really well, way beyond my expectations. It is quite amazing and unexpected for a smartphone company which makes sells all sorts of products.
I just can't keep up with the Chinese car market... The only Chinese sedan I ever driven isn't in your list. The BYD Seal, which is a great car. It has a big LFP pack for good range, twin motor design for crazy acceleration and it's readily available here in Brazil.
Reclining fold-flat SofTex®-trimmed rear seats in the bZ4X deliver unparalleled flexibility, making room for more cargo or creating a spacious, comfortable seating area, reflecting Toyota’s innovation in optimizing convenience and luxury.
After looking at these selected Chinese EV, the future of traditional gasoline car makers are pretty grim. However, the outlook of a smooth transition into green energy vehicles is better than ever.
In the context of this list, yes. Even if I had reviewed the updated ET7, I still would have chosen the M03. It's a more significant and interesting model than an updated version of a sedan that came out two years ago.
@JamAlBorey like fully electric doors or massage seats or back monitors also electric back seats of sunshade that can make it dark or bright also the range are pretty similar
@timothyi6492 The S9 has 700 km range, a luxurious interior with a rear cinema, and many more features, This could've entered the list, but Ethan didn't drive it...
Even people who know next to nothing about Chinese cars like me, see that there is something quite essential missing from this Top 5 : build quality and reliability criteria. If you take those into account where does the the over-hyped Xiaomi SU7 stand ?
This list is really cool, and proves that there are a lot of interesting choices. And there is a lot that we don't have here in Europe. Some cars are downright ugly or weird, as good as they may be. I really don't like the looks of the Denza Z9GT, despite its performance and gimmicks. Or even the Xpeng P7+, it's just meh for me. I agree on the Lynk&Co Z10 though, its design is really appealing. We only have the Lynk & Co 01 here in The Netherlands, of which the proportions are just not right. The Z10: beautiful. The Xiaomi SU7 is a good number one here. Although the design may not be perfect, everything else is just really good. I want to drive one, once... Prices are hard to compare though. The MG4 Xpower for instance is sold in China from 19000 euros (converted from yuan), while the same car costs almost 42000 euros here in The Netherlands... A BYD Qin L would be nice here, but 16000 USD would become at least 35000 euros. Keep up making these fun and informative videos in 2025!
@Trellmewo Not only tariffs, depending on the brand. The Netherlands adds VAT (China prices are without VAT), and adds some more local taxes. Before tariffs, Chinese EVs were already almost twice as expensive as they are in China.
@@darkknight8139 Well, policy ask the chinese company can not sell cheaper than local‘s (for example like VW, the id3 is almost doubled price in germany) so *for example* like 15k car is 30k+15k price in ur area
